1. The end

-Not Edited!-

"There is no real endings."

Elizabeth Decker,

We got him. We finally had gotten him.

"Turn around! Turn around slowly!" I yelled as he turned around, his hands going up slowly, the grey criminal orbs of his stared back into my fake brown eyes.

"Well look who it is, my favourite pig Decker right? Finally got my ass huh sweetheart." He smirked as if we haven't trapped him. His rich British accent had filled the air. There was a few more tattoos on him then the last time I seen him.

But his eyes. His eyes sent shivers down my spine, they were sadist, mocking me.

"Walk towards us slowly." I said as he edged to the cliff. His eyes full of amusement as if this was all sort of a game.

"A star, honestly gave your best efforts but another time sweetheart." He said as he fell, my heart dropped. I rushed towards the edge of the cliff falling to my knees, my fingers hugging the dirt as I watched him go down, while he was looking directly at me smirking before closing his murderous eyes.

"God damn it Decker you let him get away!" Jackson yelled at me.

"Me? I'm the one who got this close to catching him, while you been on this case for years!" I yelled clenching my fingers into a fist, thinking how much trouble I would get in for shooting his ass.

I put my gun back in my holster walking towards where the cop cars were as a red tape was put around the area.

"Forget Jackson, what an ass. You did everything you could Beth." Agent O'Neil said. She was someone I worked on this case with for the past year, this case had been open for ten years. Ten fucking years and this man was playing with us, leading us on wild goose chases as if he was just simply bored.

You know how in fairy tales there's always a monster? His worse far worse than the villain who poisoned snow white, or locked Cinderella up. He haunted my dreams, chased away my hope. He was the one you cower away from. The one you hide under the covers from.

"I didn't do enough; the case is going to get thrown out from us." I whispered under my breath as the forensics team got here. The scene where he jumped of the cliff saluting me replayed in my head over and over. Every single detail I remembered. He knew. He knew he just wanted to make a grand exit. He knew his time was coming.

He must have had planned this all along, he sacrificed himself for the survival of his mafia.

"Damn it! We almost had him! We just need a few more weeks!" Webber shouted, he was the top dog here the one who recruited me.

"His dead." I replied as he slapped the case file on the glass desk.

"There was no body found he could still be alive!" He yelled back in full force, I smelt it. His desperation to close this case with that son of a bitch behind bars. We all needed it to put that demon behind bars. But fate laughed at me, Chief Webber knew it, I knew it. That fuckfaces body cant be found because its at the bottom of the ocean.

"Those families deserved justice, and what happened today wasn't justice, we needed him to rot behind bars for the rest of his life, what he did was a mercy killing. It wasn't heroic or anything. That six year old boy needed justice and we failed him!" He shouted to everyone in the office. He was right we achieved nothing today, except a gunshot to the heart and with Danny in critical care.

It felt surreal. Today felt surreal. I convinced myself any moment now. I would wake up from this horrible nightmare and go arrest that monster. The monster who killed a six year old boy, to collect a debt.

I watched as my boss was standing in front of all those cameras. I watched as he told the world, as he told America that the monster was dead. That we failed in our basic duty to catch a monster that ripped apart families, that killed little innocent kids, that built an empire while we did nothing but watch.

I wanted to puke. I felt disgusted with myself, it was so unreal that the most powerful man killed himself.

Alessio Hernadez was dead.

I looked at the mothers face. She lost her son and husband that day. And I failed to give her, her justice the justice that she deserved. Maybe just maybe she can relish in the idea that the monster is dead.
