Child!Eduardo x Child!Reader - Kindergarten Boyfriend

A/N: Oh wow, she finally decides to upload the first chapter of the Eddsworld book! The heavens have opened! All sarcastic jokes aside, hey guys, I'm pumped about this!

Going strong with an Eduardo chapter! I kinda like Ed. Sure, he's painted as an asshole (yeah, shocked me too), but he really does have a caring heart under the diet cola addiction and depreciating sarcasm.

And yes, I know what you're thinking from the title. No, this will not be based off of a certain song with the exact same name. THIS WILL BE FLUFFY, I promise. No angst.

"Alright, children, settle down, please." The teacher's voice made everyone in the class turn towards her, where a little girl stood clutching her leg. "Thank you. This is (y/n)."

"Hi, (y/n)." The kids chorused, and she gripped the teacher's leg even more.

"Say hi, (y/n)." She whispered to her with a smile. "Go on, they don't bite."

"H-H-Hello..." She murmured, looking up with a scared expression. "I'm (y-y/n). I like drawing, and- and I like math."

A few of the students began whispering, giggling under their breath when she turned bright red.

"Now, then, you can sit next to..." The teacher scanned the room for empty seats, when she smiled brightly. "Ah! You can sit next to Eduardo. Eduardo, please raise your hand."

When the boy in question shot his arm in the air, (y/n) hesitated, but slowly walked over to the desk beside him and sat down, hunching over and half-hiding her face in her crossed arms.

A few minutes passed, and the teacher was a few minutes into her lecture when she felt a poke on her elbow. She looked up and into the smiling face of Eduardo.

"Hi," he whispered. "I'm Eduardo."

"(y/n)," she replied, still hiding her face. "I... um... I like your drawing."

She pointed out the piece of paper on his desk, in which he was drawing himself beating up another person that looked a lot like him.

He beamed. "Thanks, I worked hard on it."

"You wanna be friends?" He asked, a little quieter when the teacher glanced over. "Let's hang out at recess."

She hesitated, but gave him a bigger smile, showing off her lost tooth. "Sure!"

Walking into kindergarten the next day was less nerve-wracking for the little girl, especially since she had made friends on her first day.

Eduardo had introduced her to Jon, a cute boy who always seemed to have candy in his hands, and Mark, a square-chinned boy with big, round glasses. They seemed really happy to have another friend, and they spent the entire break outside exploring and creating a rivalry with another boy, Edd, and his friends.

She slipped into her seat right as Eduardo walked into the classroom. He grinned when he saw her and raced over, grabbing her arm.

"Hey, hey, (y/n)!" He exclaimed, tugging on her sleeves. "C'mon, I have something to show you!"

"Okay!" She grinned back at him and left her spot, letting him lead her to the cubbies on one wall. She waited patiently as he looked through his cubby. He exclaimed in triumph and pulled something from underneath one of Mark's books, and presented her with a pretty drawing of both of them surrounded by a bright red heart.

"Be my girlfriend, (y/n)!" He searched her face eagerly while he stood there. "I really like you!"

She was shellshocked. On her first day of kindergarten, she was the new kid, scared about being in a class full of strange new kids. The next, one of them liked her? Like-liked her?

She blinked. "You... you really like-like me?"

"Yes, I like-like-like you!" He replied enthusiastically, shoving the paper closer. "Wanna be my girlfriend?"

She smiled. Beat being alone, and besides, Eduardo was really nice. "S-Sure, Eddie!"

"Yes!" he hollered, handing her the drawing before fist-pumping the air. "I have a girlfriend and Edd doesn't! I have a girlfriend and Edd doesn't!" He said in a sing-song tone.

She giggled when he grabbed her hand, pulling her to their seats as class began.

A/N: Aw, how adorable. It really does tick me off when the fandom paints Eduardo as this physically abusive, manipulative, all-around-prick of a person. Even he has his good sides, you know? He's one of the tsundere types - deep down they really do care, but they hide it under layers of snarky comebacks and insults.

Meh, enough ranting for now. I really do hope you enjoyed, and if you did please feel free to request more! I'll see you guys later!
