Backstory: "Can we not?" Here's the first backstory I've actually done a detailed story of: One day working in the orphanage, while she was sweeping the floors and putting away the toys that the kids left out (none of them ever bothered to pick them up themselves), a guy with a green hoodie came in and offered to help her. She nodded, expecting him to leave most of the work to her, but he actually did most of the remaining work there was to be done. She thanked him and he left and she returned to her drab room downstairs. The next day he came back and helped her again, and again, and again. One day, he came in with two of his friends, a guy with orange hair and a green coat over a purple hoodie, and a guy with a blue hoodie and no eyes. He introduced them as 'Matt' and 'Tom'. She told them her name was Mooncat, and the two new guys looked confused, since that wasn't a normal name. She told them it was a nickname the other kids gave her, on account of her being spaced-out all the time and her 'mild' obsession with cats. A week later, her boss found out about their visits and beat her, saying that she wasn't allowed to have 'outside relations'. She stayed away from them and didn't talk to them anymore. They got worried about her, but she wouldn't tell them what was going on. Days later, they broke in and busted her out. She still nearly breaks whenever she thinks about her past, but she's always the salty but fun and confident girl around others, and especially her saviors and friends. It's been a few years since then, and they still don't know about her monster, or how broken she really is inside. She's grown a liking to Tom, since she relates so much to him, and even he doesn't know about her secrets. She always thinks he'll make fun of her because of her nightmares, and she hates people worrying about her, which is why she hasn't told Matt or Edd. But sometimes, when she's hanging out with them or on an adventure, she'll forget all about her past and just have fun, but whenever she's alone for too long, she'll refresh the bruises and cuts that her boss gave her. She doesn't think she's deserving of the boys' friendship. She still thinks of herself as an ugly monster, despite being told several times by her friends that she's prettier than she thinks. She hates herself, but loves the boys like family. They're the only ones she's ever cared for, and will do anything to protect and help them, even if it means risking her own life for theirs. On her oath, they will never be hurt or killed on her watch. She still doesn't want her monster form to come out, because she's so scared of hurting them against her will. She'll never let them know. She'll never let them see what she really is. She loves them too much.
