A Great Day .:MattEdd:.
(I still don't know if that's the official ship name)
"Alright, we should be back around six," Edd said, grabbing his car keys from the coffee table. Matt stood by the door, smiling brightly. It was his birthday, and the two lovers were going to be out on the town that day. Tom and Tord were staying at the house alone. Matt was hoping they'd come back to something adorable. "Remember, don-" "Don't kill each other. We've got it Edd, you two go have fun!" Tord cut Edd off mid-sentence, smiling, "I'll keep Tom from getting wasted too". That last comment got him a small punch in the arm from the eyeless male, "Oh, shut the f*** up, commie," Tom growled, although his tone was more playful then anything. "Alright," Edd said with a small laugh. It was evident he was still worried about leaving the two alone. "Edd, it'll be fine!" Matt reassured him. Edd smiled, turning around and opening the door, allowing Matt to go first. "Remember the plan," Edd said softly. "We'll get right on it," Tord said softly in response. Tom was already in the kitchen. Edd nodded, and then closed the door behind him, knowing everything would be fine.
The first place they went was the movies. They went to see a comedy that Matt had suggested, and by the end of it had almost choked on their popcorn and drinks 15 times in total. Some kids looked at them, then back to their parents, seemingly asking them why two males were holding hands like that. Edd and Matt never noticed, though.
Then, they had a bite to eat at a local Italian restaurant. In the restaurant, the other diners stared at them, some in disapproval and some with glee. Edd and Matt still didn't notice though- they were too busy throwing each other pick-up lines that ranged from okay to terrible, and laughing all the while.
Finally, they went to ASDF Land (Which, luckily, wasn't infested with zombies this time). At one of the games, Edd was able to win a giant stuffed dog for mat, which pretty much compensated for the fact that he couldn't have a real dog, being fatally allergic to them and all. More people stared at them, and never once did they notice.
That is, until someone decided he wanted to speak his mind.
Edd and Matt were walking around the park, just happening to pass a small group of men. One of them, who had oh-so conveniently been everywhere the couple had been with his own girlfriend, decided it was his place to end it. He stuck his leg out just as Matt was about to pass him, effectively tripping the ginger. Matt squeaked as he fell forward, and although the dog broke his fall a little, it still hurt him to some degree. "Matt!" Edd said in a panic as he went down to see if he was okay. He heard laughter, and he looked up at the male that now stood before them. "Look at the little f*gg***!" The man said while laughing. Edd glared, and as he got up he helped his lover too. "Oh, I didn't realize out love was bothering you. And quite frankly, I don't care if it does. Come on, Matt," The two tried to walk away, but were stopped by the male once again, "And where do you think your going? I'm not done with you yet,". "Away from you," Edd replied calmly, Holding Matt's hand as he attempted to leave again. However, the male caught him by the arm and was about to punch him in the face when he stopped. "Brian, what the f*** are you doing?!" a female voice sounded. The man, who's name was Brian evidently, let go of Edd and smiled awkwardly. "Oh, just giving these two a pat on the back, y'know? For being so open-", "I saw everything, Brian! What makes you think you have the right to judge people on their life choices?" The woman said angrily. "Uh..." Those were the only words that came out of Brian's mouth. "No excuse," The woman said, a hint of triumph in her tone, "Just what I thought,". The woman smiled at Edd and Matt, then turned back to Brian. "Oh, and also... I'm breaking up with you," She said, pretty much causing shock in the entire group. "What?! Why? We were so happy!" Brian said, shocked. "Well, for starters, I don't want to be with someone who tries to pull the s*** you just did," The girl said, and then she smiled, "and, I've met someone else.... and she is way cuter than you will ever be, you ba****,". Edd, Matt, and this new friend walked away, leaving Brian with his mouth hanging open in shock. After walking in silence for some time, Edd spoke up. "Thanks for that," He said, as Matt stood a little closer to him, obviously nervous and leery of those around the group. "No problem. Those in the LGBT Community have to help each other out, y'know?" The girl smiled, "Oh, and my name's Tiffany,". "I'm Edd, and this is my lover, Matt," Edd introduced Matt and himself. "Nice. Anyway, I might be seeing you two around," Tiffany said, "I need to find out how I'm gonna get home, now. I came here with Brian, and that's clearly not an option anymore,". Matt spoke now, "We can take you home!" Tiffany looked at Edd. "It's the least we can do after how you've helped us," Edd chimed in. So, the two guys drove their new friend to her home, and in the process got to know each other better. Matt told Tiffany about Tom and Tord, and Tiffany told them about the girl she had mentioned, a long time friend named Carla. Edd and Matt wished her luck, Tiffany wished them, and soon enough the couple was on their way back.
Surprisingly, they were early. Edd had told them they'd be back around 6 PM. Now, it was 5:15. The two figured they had just spent less time at the park then they thought they would. The two entered the house. Matt placed the stuffed dog on the couch before he went into the kitchen, then squealed. Edd got there just in time to see Tom and Tord kissing and then pull away. "We didn't get the mess cleaned up just yet. We didn't think you'd be back so soon," Tom said, as Edd and Matt noticed the various baking things strewn about. "It's alright," Edd said, "We can clean up after the celebration," Edd stepped into the kitchen now. "By the way, Matt, I wanted to ask you something," Matt turned to face Edd, not noticing that he gave Tom and Tord a look, or that the two were pulling something out of the fridge. "Yes?" He asked, and then something caught his attention. A cake had been placed on the table. It was purple and green, and in white frosting it had the words "Edd and Matt-Together Forever" in cursive. Again, Matt's attention shifted, and this time he gasped. Edd was down on one knee, holding a small, black box. "Matt, you and I both know that same-sex marriage was legalized a good while ago. We've been together even longer than that, and I thought it was time to take the next step..." Edd opened the box to reveal a small ring with the prettiest diamond anyone had ever seen, "Matt, will you marry me?". Matt could feel the tears coming to his eyes. "Oh my god... yes!" He exclaimed. Edd smiled, putting the ring onto one of Matt's fingers, then standing a kissing his new fiance. Tord smiled, as he had been taking a video of the entire event. Tom cheered, "F*** YEAH!". Edd and Matt pulled away from each other after a few seconds. "Now we just need you two to get engaged and everything will be even!" Matt smiled. Edd laughed as Tord and Tom blushed. "...uhm..." Tom said, clearly blushing more. "It doesn't seem like a bad idea" Tord smirked. "Tord, we've only been together for a month," Tom said, blush dying down a small bit. Tord just shrugged, "What makes you think I care? The sooner the better,". "Alright, enough of that for now," Edd chuckled, going over to a drawer and getting a knife to cut the cake with, "Who wants cake?".
