Cancer (omfg this is edgy)
Matilda stared out the window at the cars that passed by, with only her own reflection to keep her company. The girl stared at the clean, white, blanket that lay over her legs. She felt as if she was growing insane, these white walls teasing her every movement. Everything was white besides her gift and her hair. Her hair was a bright orange, similar to the peel of a clementine. Her hair was long enough for her to see but short enough so she couldn't braid it.
Sometimes she wishes she would've grown it longer, especially now. The gift however was given to her by her mother. It was a lavender bow, it felt silky to the touch and yet it comforted her. Which was strange, seeing as it could do little to nothing except exist. But it was still nice. Although the bow couldn't change the fact that she hated it here. She would rather die than go bald. She'd rather die than have only cars to watch and an expensive item to hold in her constantly clenched fists. Matilda owned that choice however. She could very well just die. It would take some time, but it would still happen. It would happen alone. Alone, beside her reflection.
I could 'pull the plug'. The ginger sighed and gave her reflection a good look. Her ocean blue eyes stared back at her, almost as if it was speaking to her. But they weren't. She was just overthinking. Sometimes she wondered if her cancer was a blessing or a sin. It brought her loved ones closer yet she found herself drifting far away into nothingness. As she sat, and waited for nothing. Because there was nothing here. Not even herself.
