Your POV:
"Y/N, you're gonna miss!" Someone called out. You threw the basketball towards the hoop and made a near-perfect shot. You were practicing for your big game in two days, and you decided that the school's gym would be a good place to practice. Some assholes followed you into the gym and tried to taunt you, but it didn't faze you. "Dude, shut up. You're messing my shots up." You said coldly, dribbling the ball across the room and making another shot.
"If you want to fight, come over here and fight me." You added. You didn't get a reply, which was much better of a response than you expected. You continued playing until the bell rang, signaling that you had to go back to class. You tossed the basketball and grabbed your duffle bag, swinging it onto your shoulder and running out of the gym. You ran down a few more halls until you reached the Algebra classroom.
"Ugh, I hate this class... this high school..." You mumbled to yourself, pushing through a group of students to enter the room. You found a random seat in front of Tord, the most annoying teen you've ever met. "Hello, darling~." "Fuck off double-toothpick." You turned to your side and saw a boy in a green hoodie. He shyly looked away from you and fiddled with his hoodie strings. You shrugged your shoulders and looked away, not wanting to bother him.
You heard Tord huff, but you tried to focus on the teacher. She was sitting at her personal desk, shuffling papers. After a while longer of staring at her, she stood up and passed the papers out to everyone in the room. "Alright class, let's get started! Today is scientific notation!" The teacher announced, overly enthusiastic about a math topic. You spaced out while the teacher continued to ramble on and on, peeking at the boy next to you every now and then.
You really didn't want to be here, not at the moment. You heard something from the boy next to you, so you looked at him. He was drawing something onto a paper, some cartoon characters or something. His drawing skills impressed you, so you kept watching. You heard Tord snicker and whisper to his friends.
"Y/N has a crush on the dweeb, don't you agree?" You turned to face Tord and frowned. "You should stop talking shit before I bash your shiny, white teeth in." You warned quietly. "How about you work on your math homework, asshat?" Tord countered, smirking. "Same to you, fuck boy." You sassed, looking away from Tord and looking back at the artist.
He was oblivious to you and Tord's arguing, and he sketched a butterfly. "What a bitch." Tord commented, scribbling on his homework. You tapped the silent boy's shoulder and he flinched harshly. "Sorry, I was just... going to tell you that your drawings look cool." You spoke, giving the boy a small smile. The boy looked at you and smiled back.
"Th-thank you... Y/N." The boy responded. "How do you know my name?" You asked. "Well, you're the top girl basketball player of the school..." "Oh, that makes sense. What's your name?" "My name i-is Edd. I thought that you would be a lot more... mean." "Nah, that's just a stereotype. Prince-y boy back here follows that sterotype well." You pointed back at Tord and chuckled. Tord scoffed and Edd tried not to laugh.
You nearly forgot about the teacher, who was busy writing something onto the white board in the front of the room. You didn't understand the equation she wrote, which slightly upset you. How are you supposed to pass this class? You looked at your homework and wrote random numbers on it. She just cares if you did it, not if you got it right. She lectured the class until the bell rang again.
"Well, I hope we can chat again soon." You told Edd, handing him a slip of paper and speed-walking out of the classroom. You wished that you could've stayed to see his reaction to when he found your phone number on the paper. You giggled to yourself and went into your next class of the day.
- Time Skip -
You came into the school early to head to the gym. This wasn't normal for you, but you wanted to try something new. The morning is always hard for you, which used to be the reason for why you didn't come here early. You skipped down the halls until you saw a familiar green hooded friend.
"Hi, Edd!" You greeted, stopping in your tracks. Edd was sitting on the floor, drawing something in a notebook. "H-hi... sorry about not texting you yesterday... I got really busy..." Edd stammered. "No, it's fine. I got busy with basketball practice anyways. I should've chose to play football." You told him. You felt your face heat up, which confused you. You both had an awkward silence for a bit.
You decided that this conversation wasn't going anywhere, so you broke the silence. "Well, I'm gonna go practice for my game tomorrow. See you around." You said, already walking away. "O-oh, uhm, yeah! I'll see you around..." Edd stuttered. You smiled and a soft pink blush dusted your cheeks. You ignored the blush and went into the gym, ready to play.

You sat next to Edd again, happy to chat with him. "Hiya! Uh-uhm... I drew something for you..." Edd greeted, holding a paper out to you. Intrigued, you took the paper and gazed at it. It was a very well-done sketch of a basketball and trophy, both sitting next to eachother. Your face reddened and you smiled brightly. This cute nerd...
"Edd... I-I don't know what to say... thanks, man." You stuttered. You've never gotten a gift from anyone that meant this much to you, mostly because the only gifts that you got were from popular boys that were just trying to get laid. You set the paper down on your desk and stared at it. "It's not that great..." Edd muttered. "Edd, it's awesome, just like you." You complimented, winking at him. He blushed deeply and turned his head away from you to hide it.
"Th-thank you..." He whispered. "Yeah, no problem." You said cooly, fixing your hair. Do you like Edd? Maybe? A little...? You shook your head, but you kept thinking about it. "Hey, Edd?" "Yeah?" "I... you... I don't understand this math... do you get it?" Edd paused and blushed softly. "W-well... I could definitely t-tutor you if you need h-help..." Edd suggested. You couldn't stop a large, goofy smile to appear on your face.
"Y-yeah! Well... I don't want to be a bother..." You mumbled, rubbing your arm and looking at your desk. "Nah, I got a lot done yesterday. I-I have time today to... hang out." Edd said happily. "Okay. Uhm..." "I walk home, so... you'd have to walk with me..." "Oh, sure! That's f-fine..." You decided. Edd nodded and looked at the teacher.
- TIME SKIP AGAIN (SO MANY OF THESE) -
You stole a basketball from the gym and dribbled it around the sidewalk, waiting for Edd by the school's main exit. You hummed a few songs as you waited. Luckily, for you, Edd came out of the building. You were just about to get bored, so this was great timing. Edd held onto his backpack straps and walked up to you. You caught the ball and walked alongside Edd to his place.
"So... what do you like to do on your spare time? Other than drawing, I already know that one." You surveyed. "Well... I like to drink Cola and chat with my roommate! I forgot to tell you, but Matt from our math class is my roommate." Edd explained, making hand gestures as he did so. "How about you, Y/N?" You were mad at yourself for getting flustered when Edd said your name.
"Well... other than basketball, I play other sports. I like football, boxing, sometimes baseball, and... bowling is okay." You answered. "I think that I can only play... bowling. Don't tell Tom, he'll kill us." Edd joked. You covered your mouth, but you ended up howling with laughter anyways.
"E-Edd, oh my god! You're so funny!" "R-really?" "Yeah! You'd be a good comedian..." "...I have puns too..." You shook your head and dribbled the basketball. "...They're pretty PUNny, if you ask me." "Edd, no." "I have linguistic EDDucation." "Edd, no!" "I like to poke PUN." "Edd, why?" Edd laughed and ran off. "I'll race you!" "I don't even know your address!" You chased after him, but stayed behind him to see where you were going.
After a few more minutes, Edd skidded to a stop in front of a nice-looking house. You stood next to Edd and he got his keys out of his backpack. He unlocked the door and let you enter first. "My, what a gentleman." You said, giggling afterwards. You entered the house and Edd closed the door behind himself. He locked it and gently grabbed your wrist.
"C'mon, my room is over there!" Edd pulled you to his room and closed the door after you both got inside. He let go of your wrist and set his backpack down. Due to your sinful mind, you blushed and tried to focus on anything that wasn't the bed. You saw a bunch of papers on the wall, so you approached them to get a better view.
You found that the papers had the cartoon characters that Edd drew in his notebook on them. "Edd, who are these peeps that you made? This one over here looks like Tord..." You inquired, pointing at the one that you were referring too.
"U-uh, those are just my... characters from my animation series..." Edd replied. "Animation series? I love those! What's it called?" "It's called... don't laugh at me... it's called Eddsworld." "Why would I laugh? I wanna watch it!" Edd blushed, probably from embarrassment, and looked down at his feet. "O-okay..." Edd whispered. You walked up to him and ruffled his hair. "Aww, you're so shy!" You teased.
"H-hey! I... don't usually work on my hair, but I don't want it all messed up!" Edd pouted and crossed his arms. You both continued to be playful with eachother, and you soon led him outside. It was dark out, and the stars were out. "Shoot, my parents are gonna kill me." You muttered. "And, you didn't get your math tutoring." Edd added. "Well, I got distracted by..." You turned away from Edd and decided not to continue that sentence.
Edd, on the other hand, was curious about what you were going to say. "...Distracted by what?" "...You... b-because... you're someone... special to me..." "I'm special t-to you?" "Edd, I care so much about you already! I know that we haven't known eachother for very long, but I... I like you!" "I like you too, Y/N. We're best friends!" You felt like Tom shot one of his harpoons through your chest. Did you just get friendzoned?
(I'm ending it there, just to be an ass ;D)
