CHAPTER 18

Note: things may get ugly in this chapter. I'm just saying...

It was Sunday morning... Edd soon woke up. He looked at his almarm clock. It was almist 7 am. He rubbed his eyes and let out a long, drawn out, yawn. He thought back to his dream last night. About him and Eddy, why did he dream about that? And why did it make him feel so strange inside. Every since he and Eddy's sleep over, he hasn't felt the same. And could never tell exactly what it us he was feeling. It wasn't a negative feeling like last night. He felt sad, but also warm inside. He looked over to his side and saw that Eddy was...gone??

He started to internally freak out. He ran out of his room and all around the hallway upstairs. He frantically searched and yelled for Eddy. He hasn't done something like this since that time he thought he had list his hat. He ran down the stairs screaming for Eddy at the top of his lungs.

He ran down stairs and yelled for Eddy. He saw him by the stove cooking something.

"EDDY"!! He ran up to him and hugged him from behind.

" Eddy~"

" Geez sockhead, you act like I didn't see ya in a million years" he said with a slight laugh.

" .... I thought you left me.."

" and why would I do that?"

Edd let go and shrugged his shoulder with a slight blush.

" what are you cooking?"

" breakfast"

" you didn't have to do that."

" I know.. But I wanted to"

" yes, but its the second time you've done this for me."

" hmm"

" I can at least help"

Eddy quickly glanced at him and his serious expression. Eddy thought his face was adorable, and beautiful all at once.

" I you want to~"

Edd smiled and started to help Edd make breakfast.

( time skip)

They had finished eating breakfast and were now sitting on the couch watching TV.

Eddy notticed that Edd seamed out of it.

He rubbed Edd's shoulder and he turned to looks at Eddy's face.

" you OK?"

" yes, I'm fine, I was just thinking...."

" ... I see. 'Bout what?"

There was a long silence.

" c'mon"
he said whiles pitting his finger on his chin to make him look him in the eye......

" what is it" he said with a look of concern.

" I had a dream last night"

" oh, what happened in it?"

"......"

" was it a nightmare? "

He said whiles rubbing his side. Edd wondered why he was letting his friend do this to him. And he wondered why he didn't really mind.

" no"

" then what happened? Tell me."

" it was a memory "

Eddy looked more curious now.

" a memory of what!?"

"Well..."

Edd told Eddy all about his dream from beginning to end in detail.

Eddy told him that he had EXACT same dream, except from his p.o.v.

The started talking about what it meant.

Eddy had hoped that it meant that Edd had feelings for him too. And Edd didn't know what it meant to him. He had never been good with feelings, let alone his own feelings. He was good at making people feel better, or maybe tell when others were upset. But not when it came to feelings, ya know, like love and crushes. Those kinds of feelings.

(  A\N: you know.. Like there's, 'you hurt my feelings', and there's ' I have feelings for you' see? Different kinds of feelings.)

( another time skip)

Eddy had spent the day at Edd's house. Edd had insisted that he make Eddy dinner since he made him breakfast twice. And Eddy wasn't just gonna pass up free diner. And besides, it was nice just eating dinner and spending the day with Edd. It was almost like they were an actual married couple. Preparing meals together, laughing, watching T.V, sharing their inner thoughts and feelings ( not the ones your thinking about  😌). It was amazing~.

They looked at the time and it was minutes to 8:00 pm.

Edd told Eddy that it was getting late he should go and head home, since they have school tomorrow.

" Eddy, its getting late"

" Hmm?"

" maybe you should start getting ready to take your leave?"

" Aware. Do I have to?"

" Eddy~ you know we have school tomorrow.. "

" ... Fine"

Edd laughed to himself and cover his smile with his hand.

"We shall do this again some time, yes?"

" yeah"

He said through his grin, Edd's laughter was clearly contagious.

They started moving closer toward eachrher, the eddy stopped and headed for the door.

" Good bye Edd" he said with a smile.

He started to open the door.

" EDDY WAIT!!"

Eddy turned around and his dark brown eyes met Edd's cyan ones.

(A\N:  sorry, I don't actually know Eddy's eye color. Only Edd's, its supposed to be across from aqua blue and pale green.. So cyan)

" what is it?"

".... Can I have a hug before you leave."
Edd had absolutely no why he did that. Or said what he did.

Eddy showed a half smile.

" sure, c'mere" he said whiles holding his arms out.
Edd speed walked over to him and give him a bug hug. He wrapped his arms around him and nuzzled into his chest. Eddy blushed, and wrapped his arm around his waist. Together they swayed back and fourth just enjoying the hug. Even though Edds face was barried in his chest, he still could tell that Edd was blushing.

Eddy looked in awe of how adorable was in his arms. Edd looked up at Eddy, and Eddy stared longingly at Edd. Their faces got closer and closer, and just when their lips were about to touch, there was a knock at the door. Edd slowly pulled away from Eddy, and Eddy was pissed. He went to go answer the door.

The person at the door was.....

Kevin.

Eddy felt the anger start to boil up inside of him.

" oh! Greetings, Kevin. What brings you here?"

" Hey, dorko"

Then he pushed past Edd and walked in uninvited.

" Hey shovel chin! He didn't tell you to come in!"

His darted quickly towards Eddy.

" I can come in when ever I want!"

This made Eddy feel more pissed.

" Why the hell are you here shovel chin!?"

"Eddy, please." Said Edd with a sad end look on his face.

" I think the real question is, why the hell are YOU here?!" Said Kevin.

" Because ME and double d are friends"

" Yeah, well, ME  and double d are dating."

" yeah well, wait WHAT!!??"

Eddy's eyes widened, and so did Edd's. Edd eyes quickly went back and fourth between his best friend, and his maybe sort of boyfriend. 

Eddy did NOT look pleased.

" WHAT THE F*CK!!?? YOUR DATING THAT!? THAT PEICE OF SH*T THEY CALL A HUMAN BEING!?"

" HEY!! WHAT THE F*CK DID YOU CALL ME SHRIMPY!?"

Edd started to get really scared and upset because the two people he really cared about were fighting.

" I called you. A PEICE OF SH*T. Buy I HEARING AID, won't ya!"

He then turned his gaze to Edd.

" Your dating Kevin!? The enemy!? The guy who has bullied us for years, and sent you home bleeding and crying, so many times!!"

Edd started to tear up.

" when were you going to tell me this!?"
He said with an angry but hurt expression on his face.

" When? When were you gonna tell me you were dating him" he said motioning his hand to Kevin.

Edd started full on crying.

Kevin saw that Edd was crying, he then good at Eddy with an angry look and dragged him outside. It was dark out and was getting cold.

Edd fallowed them outside worried about what was going to happen.

" Kevin , stop this at once!!" Edd yelled.

Kevin then stopped dragging Eddy and looked at him. Then, all of a sudden, Kevin slaped Eddy hard across the face.

"KEVIN!! NO!! STOP IT!!"

Edd screamed so loud, the whole entire cul de sac could here him. 

Kevin started to beat Eddy, hard.

Eddy through a couple punches back at him, but ultimately, Kevin was stronger that Eddy.

Edd started crying harder than he was before.

He towards them trying break up the fight. He pulled at Kevin's arm.

" Kevin, stop, please!! "

Kevin through Edd off of his arm and continued to heat eddy senseless. The Edd ran towards them, and went between them. Attempting to break up the fight again. But then, Kevin accedently punch Edd instead of Edd. Kevin quickly realized what he did.

" awe sh*t, baby I'm sorry"

He reached towards Edd and the fresh bruise on his face. Edd ignored the pain under his right eye and ran towards Eddy. He reached out towards him to looked at his wounds.

Then Eddy pulled his arm away, Edd gasped confused at his actions.

" Don't ToUCh ME!" He hissed at him.

" But.."

" No buts! You lied to me Double D."

" Eddy, I ..."

" I don't wanna hear it."

" EDDY.."

" GOOD BYE!"

" ... Please.. I.."

" You , and I , are DONE! "

He then picked himself up staggered away.

Edd watched him walk, or limp, away.

Then out if no where he screamed.

" EDDY, DON'T LEAVE ME!!"

" I SAID, WE'RE DONE!!"

Then Edd started full on bawling.

Then he felt Kevin put his hand on his shoulder.

" ... You don't need him anyways.. "

Then Edd whipped his head around.

" this is all YoUR FaUlT!!!" he said, in an almost inhuman way.

" Dork, your better off without him"

" what do you mean, better off without him? HE'S MY BEST FRIEND! AND NOW HE HATES ME!! AND ITS ALL YOUR F*UCKING FAULT!!"

Kevin was shocked, one, because he had never seen Edd this mad. And two, because never hear him swear before.

" Jeez dork, calm down, I'm sorry!"

" don't tell ME to CALM DOWN!!!"  he yelled.

Kevin wrapped his arms around Edd.

" Baby, I'm sorry"

" don't touch me" he said in a shskey voice.

" what was that?" Kevin said calmly.

" I said don't touch me" he said again plainly.

He pulled away from Kevin.

" Edd..."

Edd started walking off, but turned around to look at Kevin once more.

" Go home"

" What was that baby?"

( A\N: wow, maybe Kevin really DOES need hearing aids...)

" I said go home"

Kevin ran up to Edd and gave him a peck on the lips. Edd felt his face heat up.
" good night dorky"

" ...."

Edd didn't say anything since he was still mad at him.

" I SAID, good night dorky,"

" I know, now leave me be"

he spat out coldly. Kevin sighed and went home. Even after all that, Kevin still didn't feel any bit of remorse. He walked away with a smirk on his face.

Edd walked back inside of his house. He couldn't ignore the pain he felt in his chest. It started once Eddy had said not to touch him. He didn't understand why he felt this way. He thought that it was because he had just lost one of his closest and only friends. But he couldn't help but feel heart broken. He ran into his room, through himself on his bed and started crying into his pillow.

He just wanted Eddy back. That's all. He knew that he was with Kevin now, well, sort of. But he was just so angry with him. He beat up his best friend. And may have ruined their friendship forever. He also knew it was also his fault. But still, Kevin didn't have to go and make things worst.

He missed Eddy SO much already. He just wanted to give him a big hug and apologize for everything.

And that's what he decided he was going to do. He was going to apologize for what happened. And ask him to be friends with him again.

With Eddy.

He slammed the door shut and locked it. He then stormed into his room. He started screaming and punching the wall.
One punch.
'Dammit ESD! Why do you have to be with that PEICE of crap!' 

( me: ....ONE PUNCH!!  👊)

Second punch

' why did you do thus to me!?!? Making me think that you may ACTUALLY like me'

Third punch

' damn you Kevin'

Fourth punch

' you always have to ruin my life! You rub the things I don't have and you do in my face'

Fitht punch

' first the jawbreakers, then Nazz, and now Edd. Who's supposed to love ME instead of you!!! The enemy!!'

Sixth punch

' what dies he even see in you!! Your not that attractive! Or smart!! Your just! Just! UGGHHH!!'

Seventh punch

' I HATE YOU KEVIN!!

I HATE YOU!!

I WISH YOU'D JUST, DISAPEAR OUT OF THIN AIR!!

SO EDD CAN BE WITH ME!! THE ONE WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS AND LOVES HIM!!'

Eighth punch

' I wish Edd could see that Kevin's no good for him! That he could see that I love him!'

Ninth punch

' I wish he liked me back...'

On the tenth punch, the wall in Eddy's room cracked.

He yelled, he looked down at his bleeding fist. He sighed and then went to the washroom. He rinsed his hand off. The water stung when it hit his fresh wounds. He winced at the pain. Then he went back to his room and went to he'd without even bothering to change out of his clothes.

He thought about Edd. He was crying, and yelled for Eddy not to leave him.

" EDDY, DON'T LEAVE ME!!"

those words kept playing back, over and over in his head. Edd didn't like him back, he thought. And he never will. But he still felt bad for what he said to him. He still remembered the sound of him crying whiles he walked away. He didn't even look back at him. Even though he was mad. He loved Edd, and didn't like making him upset. He also thought back to when he was holding Edd in his arms earlier that day.

That's it, he was going to talk to Edd at school the next day. He wanted to apologize to him. He didn't mean it when he said that their not friends. He just couldn't bare yo look at him in the moment. It hurt too much. Because whenever he saw him, he thought, he can be close to him, and he can hold him. But he can never really have him, or call him his. And that's the part that really killed him. That he couldn't call him officially his.  It didn't matter that Edd was gay, it still didn't mean that he'd ever like him.

But, tomorrow he was gonna apologize to him. Even if he can't have him as a boyfriend, he can at least have him as a best friend. He'd still live him, just not in that way. He sighed and drifted off into sleep.

He'll apologize tomorrow ~
