CHAPTER 4

Eddy took his seat on Edd's couch, and Edd offered him a beverage as he usually did when he would come over. He sertainly was a good host.

" may I offer you a beverage ?"

" ugh.. Sure whatever, waters find .. I guess" he said in a low grumble.

"Coming right up!" Edd said cheerfully.
He came back with two glasses of ice cold water. He passed one to eddy and took a seat right next to him. In fact he was sitting so close that their hips were practically touching, and he could smell his sent. A mixture of his laveder shampoo and his natual stawberry aroma. He felt his face heating up, he took a gulp of his water in the hopes to cool it down.
Edd seamed to notice Eddy's awkward behavior. He leaned closer to Eddy's face and said.

" Eddy, is everything quite alright?"

His face started heat up even more, clearly the water did nothing. He thought about leaning in and kissing him right on the lips. He had thought about it, but he didnt know how he would react. He relised that Edd was expecting an answer.

" Yeah, I'm fine" he answered.

" Are you sure? Your not acting your usual self ". He said with a face full of concern.

" yep, positive" he said lowly under his breathe. Edd clearly wasn't convinced but looked as if he decided to leave it alone.

" Alright, then. But if you ever want to talk about it. You know where to find me!" He said the last part a little more cheerfully. Even though he was acting his usually cheery self, he too seamed a little off. He was clearly hiding something too. And he was determine to figure out what .
Eddy was just about to ask when they heard a knock on the door.
Edd got up to answer the door.

" oh , hello Nazz, would you like to come in?"

" Sure! Thanks D" she said in an upbeat fashion .

" What can I do for you?"

Eddy started to listen in on their conversation. He had stopped having his feelings for nazz when he relized that he was in love with his best friend. Yep, in love. He had thought about it. Just the thought of his smile would brighten up his whole day. Thats the only way he servived school with all the boring classes, but loads of homework and the football team. Especially with their star quarter back Kevin. He had siratainly matured, and everyone had thought that he changed but eddy wasn't so easily convinced. He and Kevin still faught all the time. How could they not, Kevin was a big fat jerk. He always called him a dork, and made fun of him for being short. Even though eddy had grown and was now just as tall as edd, maybe even taller! He still wasn't as tall as Kevin and Kevin wouldn't let him live it down. He always pushed him around and always tryed to prove that he was better pretty much their whole entire life. He despised Kevin. He had everyone fooled but not him. Even if he was being nicer to people he definitely wasn't being nicer to him.
Eddy snapped out of his thoughts and tuned back in to edd and nazz's conversation.

" So I thought you would come to my beginning of the school year party!"

" Geeeee, I don't know, party's aren't really my thing"

" Aweee come on D, you have to loosen up. Have some fun!"

"We'll be there!" Eddy said stepping in. Edd had a look on his face that sceemed 'what are you doing!!?'
" But...!" Edd tried to speak but was quickly cut off.

" Great. I'll send you guys a text with all the deets, Soo you later. Byeeeee"!
Then she was quickly on her way. Clearly to tell the other cul de sac kids about the party.

"EDDY! Why did you do that!!?" He screached clearly upset with his actions.

" come on. Its a party whats the worst that can happen?"

" well there's alcohal poisoning, someone could become severily injured , there could be....... "

" Non of that stuff's gonna happen it will be fine".

" Eddy, I don't know if I should.."

"Relax, we could go together." He said in awarely wrapping his arm around his waist. " it will be fun.."

" what about ed? Is coming too" Eddy had completely forgotten about Ed. It seamed to be happening a lot lately.
As soon as edd mentioned ed he slowely removed his arm from his waist. He noticed Edds slight blush, 'cute' he thought. Some how Eddy had gotten the idea that he could take Edd to the party as his date.
But emidiately shook that idea out of his head as soon as he mentioned edd. It kind of hurt because for a split second he thought Edd may have had at least some feelings for him when he saw the way he leaned in close when they were talking and how he had a slight blush on his face. It may have been from embaracement when he mentioned them going together.
' its hopeless. He definitely doesn't like me like that. I should just give it up.'
He thought to himself. But part of him deep down still wanted to give it shot. Like he previously said. Whats the worse that could happen?
