CHAPTER 28

WARNING : this chapter may contain violence, fowl language, and maybe a some what sad/depressing scene. Also, I suck at writing violent scenes, and depressing scenes, so this chapter may suck and have poor details. Bare with me. I hope you enjoy~

It was the end of the day, and the school day seamed to move by painfully slow, but it was finally over. Tomorrow was a Friday, which would normally be a good thing, but for the students of peach creek it meant one day closer to final exams. One less day to study, which sucks for all the procrastinators. ( a/n like myself )

Oh, and today was also the day that Ed and his hot boyfriend Rufus Stephan, were getting their pet chicken, which will be staying at Rufus's house because Eds mom would kill him if he came home with a pet chicken.

( With Ed and Rufus )

Rufus came to pick Ed from school in his black mustang like he did everyday unless he had to work a late shift.

They had reached the animal shelter to retrieve their new pet chicken.

( time skip because I can)

After signing a lot of papers, they had adopted their new pet chicken, which was named Chickoletta.

When they reached Rufus's house they went straight to his backyard and carefully placed Chickoletta on the grass to take a picture of this special moment.

They checked the picture after taking the it, and smiled as it came out perfect.

( a/n Chickoletta looks like this, Rufus's backyard looks like this as well , but with more grass because he has a 'green thumb'. And you can't say it isn't so because this is MY fanfiction and not yours... Cary on.)

( Eddy's p.o.v )

I was walking through the school halls alone, Lori left already, along with pretty much the whole entire school.

Schools over, which is a relief because all my classes are fucking boring, and I'm stressing because exams are coming up. And I know I'm gonna fail because I hardly pay attention in class, because it's fucking boring.

I shake my head,

I have to focus, ok.

Focus on finding double d.

After weeks, months, years maybe, I finally made up my mind.

Today's the day.

The day I ask out the love of my life, Eddward Vincent.

And I also thought about how I'm gonna ask him out too. So here's the plan, so first, I have find him. Then, I'm gonna walk him home, but on the way there, I'm gonna take him to this candy shop.

Ok, so I know it's the greatest idea, but I'm not really the " romantic type ".

But it's supposed to be sentimental, I think. It's the very same candy shop we used to go to as kids. The same place me, Sockhead, and Lumpy used to buy all of our jaw breakers from. But we stopped going there............ Shortly after we stopped doing scams.

Does Edd even like jawbreakers anymore?

Ok, new idea. I'm gonna find him, walk him home, and take him too.....?

I know! The creek! Since its pretty much winter, and it's starting to snow, it's gonna be all pretty and stuff.

I remember that Edd used to always enjoy going there for what ever reason, I think he said something about the scenery or what ever. Yeah, so I'll just take him there. That could work.
I hope.
Then I'll just ask him out there.

I don't even know if he feels the same way about me, but at least I'll get this off my chest, and I'll also know how he feels.

Hopefully I won't get rejected, and hopefully if I do, he wont hate my guts. If he leaves me I'll have no one! Yeah, there's Ed too, but when's the last time I saw him?!
I'd think he went missing if I hadn't saw him with Sarah yesterday.

Ok focus, find Edd, take him to the creek, ask him out.

I was walking through the desolate halls of peach creek secondary, all alone.

I held my books close to my chest, everything was quiet and still, lighting dim, with the exception of that one flickering light in the middle of the hall.

From my past experiences of walking through these halls alone, nothing good usually happens. As this is usually the conditions where my bullies would all " gang up " on me, and beat me until I beg for mercy, or pass out from extreme pain and/or blood loss.

Ok Eddward, stop thinking so negatively! you will be just fine!

I hope...

I hold my books closer to my chest, school is over, and I should be the only student here. Usually I wouldn't be at school this late, but I had offered to help Ms.Howard's after school.

Ed was picked up by his boyfriend Rufus, and if my memory serves me right, he should probably be adopting his pet chicken from a local shelter. He as been talking about it none stop for the past week, he sounded very exited in deed! Lori went home as well, her new girlfriend was supposed to be walking home with her. I am very happy for my two friends for finding somebody they care so deeply about, especially Lori because she is so shy, like I am. Her partner is still unknown to me, I have not seen her girlfriend, nor do I even know her name. I never got a chance to ask. And Eddy.......

The though of him makes my face heat up, and sends warm and sort of tingly feeling though out my body.

Great, now I sound like a teenage girl. And a cheesy teenage girl too. I sigh to my self and continue to head to my locker to gather my things.

I take a turn down a usually abandoned hallway I discovered, which just so happens to be a short cut to my locker. Bullies rarely come down here, so I find that it is a safe place.........usually.

It was 3: 34 and school had ended over an hour ago, Eddy continues walking through the hallway looking for Edd. He knew he was still there because Edd had told him that he would be staying after school to help his science teacher with something.

He continued walking through the hall, when all of a sudden he heard the sounds of footsteps.

Almost as if he were being fallowed.

He quickly whipped his head around, only to find that he completely was alone.

Eddy instantly became tense, he felt as though his throat was closing up, he started walking faster and faster. The more he walked away, the lowder the sound of the foot steps became.

He kept picking up his pace, but when he heard the sound of the foot steps abruptly come to a stop, Eddy stopped in his tracks.

Everything went quiet.

To quiet.....

He stopped and kept his head straight forward, he felt breathing on the back of his neck, causing his breathing to hitch.

He turned around slowly, AND THEN pain instantly shot through the side of his face and he was shoved roughly into the locker. He hit so hard against the metal that the sound rang through the hallway. He groaned in pain and closed his eyes shut tightly whiles rubbing his head.

When he opened his eyes, the majority of the football team, stood before him. They surrounded him so he would have no chance of escape.

" Well... Well.. Well. Look what he have here." Jake said in a dark tone.

Eddy trembled, but he tried his best to act all tough.

" H-hey! Let go of me yah big piece of shit!" Eddy yelled at him with a angry look on his face, trying to act as confident as he could.

" WHAT'D you call me you FAT FUCK!!"

The football team started laughing at the words that were just shared. Jake shot them a threatening look that quickly shut them up.

" aw man.. This I just gonna make what I'm about to do, a whole lot sweeter" said Jake.

" W-wait ! Wh-hat are you- " but Eddy was cut off when he was punched by Jake in the mouth. He spat out Blood on the floor. Jake let out and dark laugh as he pushed Eddy to the ground and continued to pound into Eddy's face ( a/n 😏 me and my dirty mind).

Fresh bruises bloomed across his face.

He fought back with all of his might, but he was held down three of the guys on the football team. He may have stood a chance if it was only one guy attacking him, but he was outnumbered. And with all of their strength combined, they were ultimately a lot stronger than he was.

Jake let out a laugh as he Eddy pinned down, blood smeared across his face, he had two black eyes and his forehead had a gash a over his right eye.

Jake motioned for one of his guys to come over, a guy with curly black hair, a slight tan, large muscles and a scar over his left eyes stepped forward. He passed a dagger over to Jake and placed it in his hand who gripped it tightly.

Eddy's mouth was agape. Sweat mixed with blood and was running down his face.

He held it up to Eddy's neck.

Eddy gulped and tried his best to stay perfectly still, knowing the outcome if he made any sudden movement.

"Well dork, any last words?" The jock said with a smirk on his face.

( Double D's p.o.v )

I continued to walk down my short cut, I let out a small sigh of relief.
I was very close to my locker, and so far no bullies.

I was enjoying my quiet stroll when I heard the sound of jumbled voices, I hesitated, and then decided to walk towards the commotion.

The sounds of angry voices and someone struggling became lowder and lowder, I was beginning to regret my choices, but still I continued to fallow the sound.

As I became closer, and closer, the voices became louder and louder.

I began to find that some of the voices sounded familiar.

I made a quick turn around the corner of the hallway, when I saw something that I did not want to see.

The football team was all crowded together in a circle, they seemed to be pinning someone down. I felt my self step into something wet.

I looked down only to see that I was standing in a pool of red.

Is that........?!

Part of me wanted to turn around and run away whiles I still could, but I ignored that feeling and walked closer to the cluster of men.

Then, I saw Jake pinning someone down, holding what looked like a knife against his neck.

I tried to make out who the poor victim was, but it was difficult because of how severe their injuries were, and the amount of......blood .. That was smeared across their face.

"Well dork, any last words ?"

I winced at the words, how could I stand here and watch? Whiles someone's life is at risk?!

I saw the person gulp, I looked closer at the person and analyzed their facial features......

Wait?!?

Is that!!!!!???

I felt my heart break at the horrifying sight.

" NOO!! LET HIM GO!!!" I screamed and tried my best to push past the ruffians.

" Let...urrggghh.. Him.. Go!!" I said whiles trying to pull Jake off of Eddy, which I did somewhat successfully, except, my actions seamed to really anger Jake.

Oh dear.

" what the fu- oh, look guys" Jake said to the rest of his team.

I took a step back, I do not know if I have done the right thing, or if I was foolish of me to willingly put my wellbeing at risk.

" I see you decided to join us, dork... " he spoke whiles he grabbed the collar of my shirt, I winced and started to panic as I felt myself being lifted off of the ground.

" But boss.. We're not supposed to-" and member of the team spoke , but was emediately cut off.

" Shut it Wilson! I don't care about what he said!" He said through his gritted teeth.

Who are they referring to as 'he' ?

What are they going to do with me ?

Thoughts the raced through the younger teens mind.

Eddy held his head, he felt pain all over and he was dizzy from blood loss. But he would never forgive himself he just sat there and watched his crush who stood there defenceless get beaten up.

He staggered over to Jake and punched him hard on the back of his head.

Jake turned around slowly, and glared at Eddy with his jaw clenched, he was clearly pissed.

" Big mistake dipshit!"

Jake, still holding the trembling teen by the collar of his shirt, raised him up higher and through him hard against the locker causing a loud BANG!

He charged at Eddy, while Eddy stood in a defensive stance.

The fight had begun.

( Double D p.o.v )

I trembled in fear whiles Jake held me off the ground by the collar of my shirt.

I truly fear the worst for both me and Eddy's well being.

I watched as Eddy charged at Jake from behind and punched him in the back of his cranium.

Jake did not look pleased about his actions

Oh dear, Eddy, what have you done?

" Big mistake dipshit!" I cringed at the use of his words.

I would have scolded him for it, but now did not seem like a good time or place, so I remained silent and continued to cower in fear.

Then he started to lift me higher off of the ground, I struggled against his tight grip.

Then, before I could even process what was going on, I was thrown hard against the lockers. I felt emediate pain as I hit my head against the locker, and even worse pain as my head hit harder against the floor.

My vision began to blur, and the sound of their voices sounded like a distant echo.

I couldn't move

I felt myself slowly drifting away.

The last thing I saw was Eddy shoot me a worried glance before my world became pitch black.

( Eddy p.o.v )

I saw double d get thrown real hard against the locker, I have to help him!

But then a punch was thrown at me, I had to fight off these guys first.

I watched Edd.

I have to get to him.

( No ones p.o.v )

The fight continued for several minutes , until another figure came right out of the blue.

Eddy watched as each member of the football team was dragged off one by one.

And finally Jake was pulled of Eddy and was dragged off, disappearing as they made a turn into another hallway.

Eddy stood their for a moment bewildered, but then he remembered.

He had to help double d!

He ran over to the lifeless body.

He placed the smaller teens head on his lap and shook him slightly calling his name.

No response.

He did the same thing again except even louder.

Still no response.

He began to panic, his tears threatening to come out.

He looked Edd's emotionless face and cupped his cheek with his hand.

" what were you thinking sockhead?" He said whiles tears were running down his face.

Edd's body was cold and a lot paler than usual.

" Edd, c-come on, please d-dont do this to me! I need you." He spoke whiles holding him in a tight embrace.

Whiles he was holding him, he felt a heart beat.

It was weak, but still there.

Eddy fumbled around as he pulled out his phone and called 911.

" come on, come on, pick up." He repeated under his breathe.

" 911, what is your emergency?" A lady answered through the phone.

" I need an ambulance......."

( time skip )

Eddy watched as the paramedics rolled double d into the ambulance and hooked him up to some machines.

He asked a paramedic what hospital the ambulance was going to, once he got his answer he called a taxi to take him to the location, since he doesn't have a car of his own.

( le time skip )

Once he got the hospital, he went up to the front desk to ask what room his friend was in. ( a/n, I really don't know how this works)

He saw a lady who looked as if she were in her late 30's and early 40's.

" um, Hello"

" hello sweetie how may I help you "

" uh, do you know what room Eddward Vincent is in?"

" Eddward Vincent.." She repeated to herself whiles typing the name into the computer.

" Ope! Found him! Oh, I'm sorry sugar, it looks like he's going through an operation. He was just checked into the hospital moments ago. It did not look like he was doing well. Sorry Hun." She said in a sensere tone.

Eddy sighed, when he heard those words he felt heart broken, and couldn't help but feel as though this was all his fault.

" But if you would like you can't wait in the waiting room, he his in the ER "

" O-Oh, ok"
The lady could see the look of sadness Eddy had.

" You must be really close to this Eddward person, yes?"

" Yeah, you could say that." He said as he made his way to the waiting room with his head hanging low.

Welp! That's it for now! Will poor little Eddward be ok? Will Eddy EVER get the chance to ask out double d? Are Ed and Rufus fit to raise a pet chicken? Find out in the next part!
