Chapter 8- Hearts growing

"Me? My voice?" she said in shock "But you don't even know me."

"I know, that's why I needed to find you, I wanted to meet the woman behind the voice." he said with sincerity in his voice.

Surprised at what he was saying to her, she thought back to one of his friends that told her some things about him, and giggled "One of your friends told me that you were quite the ladies' man..."

He shrugged his shoulders, and smirked "I'm not so sure about that." he said, embarrassed. "I think it was more because I was the lead singer in the band... kind of like a quarterback, the women always want the leader of the pack."

His legs were becoming wobbly, and gripped onto the handles of the walker tighter. "Are you needing to sit?" she asked, after seeing his fists turn white from gripping hard.

"Maybe I should."

She helped him over to the breakfast bar, and had him sit down. She then looked in the fridge, seeing what she had and wondered what kind of food he liked to eat. "I'm not exactly sure what you like to eat, but I can make you anything that you would like. Before bringing you here, I stocked up quite a bit so I didn't have to make a run to the store."

He smiled, and thought about what he hadn't had in a while. "Can you cook?" he asked, curiously.

"Of course, I can cook. Growing up, my mom had me helping her every time she cooked dinner, said I needed to learn for later in life."

"How's your meatloaf?"

"The best." she smiled. She pulled the meat out of the freezer and set it in the water to thaw out. "It will be a while; I wasn't expecting to be making anything special." she giggled.

"I'm alright with that, we can talk while it thaws. Apparently, I need to catch up on life, and I'd really like to know more about you."

While the meat was thawing, she sat down next to him, and began telling him about her life, how she grew up, and how she worked hard at where she was today for only being twenty-six years old. She noticed him looking at her chest every so often, then realized she was still in her bikini, and stood up excusing herself "I'll be right back, I need to change into something a little more comfortable."

He grinned while nodding his head, he'd much rather see her in what she was wearing, but figured she may have been feeling uncomfortable when he kept checking out her breasts. He thought they were nicely sized, looked firm, and couldn't help but want to wrap his mouth around them. He caught himself drooling as he checked the rest of her body out, and noticed how she wanted to change clothing after he wiped the drool way from his lips.

She came back in the kitchen, wearing short white shorts, and a light pink tank top, that had him drooling again when she bent over, and saw her cheeks hanging out of the bottom of her shorts. Damn... he muttered. He placed his hand over his unit, and tried rubbing it down, not wanting her to see what she was doing to him. He didn't want to scare her, especially after all what she has done for him.

She turned around and carried the items over to the counter, and began preparing for dinner. "I usually put onions in my meatloaf, how do you feel about onions?" she asked, just as she was getting ready to chop an onion.

"You have to have onions in meatloaf... gives it better flavor."

"Perfect."

He watched her prepare the meal, then started wondering if he should make a phone call to his agent. He looked on the counter, then over to her asking if she had his phone. Her eyes widened, then felt sick to her stomach, thinking he wanted to turn her in. She gave him a saddened look and grabbed her phone off the counter and handed it to him "I don't have your phone, but you can use mine." she said, sounding choked up.

He took the phone from her hand, and set it down after noticing the look she gave him, and was curious as to why "What's with the look, did I say something wrong?"

"No, you didn't say anything wrong. I just assumed you wanted to turn me in."

He chuckled and pushed the phone further away "I wasn't going to call to turn you in, I wanted to call my agent... I just figured I would at least let him know that I was OK, and to have him let everyone know to quit looking for me, that's all."

"Oh, well... you can still call him if you would like to."

"No, that's alright, I can wait... besides, I think this will be good for me to take a break. I've been on the go for six years, and never really had any time to myself."

Bodhi felt relieved that he wasn't going to turn her in, and was more surprised that he wanted to stay. After dinner, she worked with his legs, and had him lifting weights to work on getting his arm strength back. It was getting late, and she was beginning to get tired, and started yawning. He looked at her with a serious look and frowned while placing his hand on her thigh "I'm sorry if I'm boring you, normally I'm the life of the party."

"You're not boring me." she giggled "Did you happen to see what time it was?" she asked, trying to ignore that he had his hand on her thigh.

"I did... but I feel like I've slept enough, and just want to keep my eyes open."

"That's not good either, you don't want to overdo it. You still need rest for your strength."

He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and leaned closer to her "I have to fill you in on a little secret, I'm tired myself... but there's one thing I need you to do before I lay down."

"Sure, what would you like?"

"For you to take this damn catheter out. I think I'll be able to get to the bathroom on my own if I needed to."

She groaned, unsure if she should do it quite yet. After he kept insisting that he would be fine, she had him lay down. He was still in his gown, and had to laugh when he kept grinning at her when she raised the gown up "I never thought I would be wearing a dress, better yet... a woman touching my pistol without firing it." he smirked.

Ignoring his words, she had him look away, and up to the ceiling "You're going to feel a little pressure the moment I remove this." she said before removing the catheter.

Once she removed the catheter, he let out a sound of relief, and lifted his head to look at his member. He grinned, and looked at her "I just wanted you to look to see what I had."

"Don't worry, I already knew what you had." she said nonchalantly, and turned her head to not let him see her smiling and blushing.

He looked at what he was laying on, and looked over at the couch "Am I still sleeping on this uncomfortable thing, or do I get to sleep somewhere else?"

"You can sleep anywhere you would like." When she saw him grin and widen his eyes, she put her hands up in the air "Except in my bed."

"You're no fun." he pouted.

She helped him walk to a spare bedroom that was across from the bathroom, and helped him into bed. Before releasing his hand from hers, he stared into her eyes. He was always a sucker for woman with blue or green eyes, but there was something about the chocolatiness color of her eyes. They were big, dark, and innocent, that had him wanting to melt right into them.

He looked down at her lips, thought they looked soft, luscious, and tasty, that he wanted to know if he still had it. His hand quickly moved up to the back of her head, and pulled her in for a kiss. Their kiss was sweet, but short. She pulled away, wiping her bottom lip, surprised he kissed her. The moment his lips touched hers, it sent electricity down her spine, and had her inner core throbbing like mad.

She wasn't expecting the kiss, and he wasn't expecting to kiss her either, but after looking at her lips it had him wondering what it would be like to kiss them. "Sorry, I just wanted to make sure I didn't forget how to use my lips." he said quietly, releasing his arms from her.

"It's alright." she said softly.

She left the room, and couldn't stop the butterflies from dancing. She needed some air, stepped outside, and sat down with a smile, tracing her lips as she thought about the kiss he just placed on her. She liked it, but she also didn't want him thinking that she brought him there for something else.

She knew she was going to have to be a little firmer with him when it came to his flirtatious ways. She liked the attention he was giving her, and wasn't sure if it was because of being in a coma for months, if it was how he always acted with women, or if it was because he wanted to get to know her. She had a few more days to work with him before her two weeks were up, and had to figure out what to do with him, and her job.

During those few days, she took the walker away from him, and had him walking around the cabin. He was lifting heavier weights, and was on his way to getting to where he was before the accident. He was growing quite fond of her the more time they spent together. Once he saw what kind of heart she had, it made him want to get inside her heart even more.

They were sitting at the table eating lunch, and he couldn't keep his eyes off her "How long did you rent this place for?"

"Until the end of fall. I wasn't sure how much time I needed with you, why?"

"What if I were to ask you to quit your job, so you could hang out with me?"

She quit eating, and set her fork down while looking at him in shock "What?" she asked with her mouth full of food.

"Quit your job... you yourself told me that you're worried about not having a job because of what you did... Aren't you supposed to go to work tomorrow?"

"I'm supposed to, but I'm still unsure of what to do yet. I haven't gotten any word if they're after me or not?"

He held out his hand, and asked for her phone. "I'm going to call my parents, let them know I'm alive, and to drop any charges if there are any. I'll also call the hospital, my agent, and my band members. Will that make you feel any better?"

She felt sick to her stomach that he wanted to call everyone, and felt worried they would trace her number, and find out where he was, arresting her. The more she thought about it, she thought it was a great idea to get them off her tail, and stood up. She grabbed her phone, and held it out for him, holding it tightly before she let him have the phone "Just block the number before calling anyone... please."

"I may have been in a coma for months, but I'm not stupid. I haven't lost any brain cells." he smiled, taking the phone out of her hand.

She finished her lunch, and left the room so he could make the phone calls. She changed into her bathing suit, and headed outside. As she walked down to the dock, she looked at the fishing poles, and walked over to them. She didn't have any bait to use, and knew you could use fake bait to fish, and hoped they had some. She opened their tackle box and looked inside to see what they had for fishing without bait.

She saw a package of fake worms, grabbed a fishing pole, and put a hook on, then sat on the edge of the dock, and casted out into the water. It had been a while since she fished, but the moment she casted out, it all came back to her. She got excited when she got her first bite, reeled it in, and smiled when she saw it was a crappie.

She took it off the hook, and placed it back in the water. The more she caught the more she wondered if he would like to have a fish fry. She turned her head to see if he happened to be off the phone, didn't see him anywhere outside and figured he must be still talking to whoever he wanted to call.

Logan finally finished making his phone calls, and felt better letting everyone know he was alive and well, and insisted to his parents to drop all charges, that he was safe, and would be home soon. There was only one person he didn't call, and that was Brooklyn. He didn't feel right calling her, and didn't want to send her any mixed signals after remembering what he did with her the night of the accident.

He stood at the patio door looking outside, seeing where Bodhi had gone off to, and saw her sitting at the edge of the dock fishing. He rubbed his chin, thinking about Bodhi, thinking about life, and thinking about what was on his mind before all this happened to him. Unsure if he had a swimsuit, he rummaged through the clothes Bodhi had bought for him, and smirked when he saw boxer briefs. He didn't see any swimming shorts, but figured the boxer briefs would work just fine, and put them on.

His heart skipped a beat when he started walking toward her, and saw her reel in a fish. Wanting to see what she caught, he walked faster toward her, and stood behind her, watching her take the fish off the hook. "What kind of fish is that?" he asked. He felt dumb for not knowing what it was, but was also fascinated to see someone catch a fish.

"It's called a black crappie, haven't you even seen one before?"

"No." he says, shaking his head "I've never fished my entire life."

She dropped the fish back into the water, and set the pole down. "Come with me." she smiled, pulling on his arm. She walked him over to the other fishing poles, and had him choose a pole.

He laughed as he picked up each one, "I wouldn't even know which one to choose."

"Are you a righty or a lefty?"

"I'm what you would call a hook." he laughed.

"So, you're a lefty." She grabbed a pole, looked at the reel and pointed to the handle "Alright, this pole here I can switch around for you, unless you would like to try reeling in with your right hand?"

Since he didn't know how to fish, he didn't want her going through all the trouble of switching things around, and grabbed the pole the way it was "That's OK, I can try fishing this way."

"Are you sure? It's easy to switch around."

"I'm fine, really."

"This will be good for your arms too." she smiled.

They walked back to the edge of the dock, where she showed him how to cast, and reel, then explained how to set the hook when he felt a bite. Before she threw out her line, she stood there watching him cast and reel in. "If we had live bait, I'd put on a bobber for you..."

He looked at her and smiled "This is just fine; I'm learning something new."

Just as he was reeling in, he got excited when he felt a tug. She laughed when she watched him set the hook, and reel in as fast as he could. "You don't set the hook that hard; you'll rip it out of his mouth." she snickered "And you might want to reel a little slower, you'll kill the poor guy."

The moment he reeled it closer to the dock, the fish took off for another run, Logan became excited and felt his heart beating faster. "This is exciting!" he said, smiling ear to ear, and feeling pumped.

"You must have a northern on." she giggled "Just be careful so you don't snap the line, you have to play with it to wear it out... it'll make it much easier to reel in."

After about fifteen minutes of trying to reel in the fish, he finally was able to pull it out of the water. He then jumped when he saw all the teeth "Holy shit, it has teeth!"

She laughed, and showed him how to get the fish off, she held it up asking if he wanted a picture with it. "Good thing I ran and got my phone while you were reeling it in, one thing you'll need for remembrance, is a picture."

He proudly held the fish up with a smile, wanting to get a picture of something he caught for his first-time fishing. After taking enough pictures, they released it back into the water, and continued fishing, catching enough pan fish to have a fish fry.

He was so amazed with what he had done, that after they put their poles away, he stepped in front of her and wrapped his arms around her waist, thanking her for a good time, and for teaching him something new.

"I know you have only been my nurse, and nothing more, that I cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for me. But the more time I spend with you, I've noticed how you have been bringing out the best in me. I know it's only been a few days since I first opened my eyes, and laid them on you, but my heart has been telling me to go for what I want, and what I want is you." He felt nervous talking to her, and had never had the feelings for any woman, than what he's feeling right now. He wasn't sure what she felt for him, but felt determination into getting her to feel the same way about him.

"Logan?" she asked, with a smile "Is this your way of trying to be romantic?"

"Why, was that romantic?" He leaned closer to her, touching his nose to hers while staring her in the eyes, causing her breathing to pick up. He pecked his lips against hers, and whispered "If you want me to be romantic, I'm sure I can figure something out."

Hope you enjoyed the chapter!❤😍❤😍

Will she give into Logan? Is he being sincere? Or, is he being his old self, trying to get a woman in bed?
