Chapter 4- Need advice
Brooklyn kept demanding for Logan to wake up, that it wasn't the same and she needed someone to argue and disagree with. "I should be pissed at you for turning me down the way you did, but I want you to know, I'm not upset. I'm so used to you turning me down, that I don't even know why I tried kissing you."
Her tears began to flow harder the more she thought about the accident "Logan, just think... had you not shielded me the moment we flew forward, and wrapped your arms around me the moment we began rolling I probably would be just as hurt as you, or even worse. You saved me... for that I am forever grateful, thank you... damn I hate you right now, with all the shit I put you through and all the smack talk I have said to you, I'm surprised you even tried protecting me. To be honest, I didn't deserve it, and I should be the one in your position right now."
Logan heard her voice and what she was saying and began dreaming about when he took her home and slept with her. He was on a mission; he was still upset with her for calling his nightstick junk. She walked him inside her home, and pinned him against the wall, attacking his mouth.
He wasn't about to turn her down, and wanted to show her he did in fact know how to use it, after she claimed he didn't when they were at the bar the night before. Next thing he remembers is picking her up and asking her to direct him to her room. There, he laid her on the bed, ravished her body, and took her to a place she wasn't expecting, that had her begging for more.
After rocking her world for the night, he snuck out and headed home, smiling the entire way home. She'll never have this again... he muttered under his breath. He felt he got what he wanted, gave her what she wanted, and proved to her that he was the champion at love making, and was out to show her that'll never happen between them again.
He fast forward his dream to the next time she tried throwing herself at him, he messed with her thinking he was going to take her on the bus and rock her world again, only to take a fan on the bus while she watched the two go inside, and not come out for a while. When the fan walked out with a smile you couldn't wipe off, she confronted him.
"You fucking asshole... what were you doing with her in there?" she screamed as she approached him.
He smiled and held out his hands "I gave her my love toy; what do you think I was doing?"
She slapped him across the face in front of his friends, yelled not so nice words at him, and slapped him across the face again, harder. She held up her middle finger close to his face and yelled "FUCK YOU!" she turned around, and stormed away, pushing Tim out of the way so she could get onto the bus.
He stood there with a smile, holding his face "Damn she slaps hard."
"I take it you deserved it." Rick said, shaking his head.
"What did you do anyway?" Sam asked, as Logan was getting ready to step foot in the bus.
"She's pissed because I had someone else in my bed, and not her."
Brooklyn stared an evil glare at Logan when he got into the bus, and turned her head when he smiled at her. He sat down next to her, and grinned when she scooted further away from him "Don't even think about sitting next to me." she snapped.
He leaned over to her, and whispered in her ear "I thought you said my shit was junk, and didn't know how to use it?" He moved away from her, and chuckled "Oh wait, I forgot, that was before you got the feel of it... what do you think of it now?"
Sam and Tim looked at each other, and knew instantly what was going on but didn't say anything, not wanting to get in the middle of their quarrel, instead they changed the subject, and asked where the next stop was.
Logan quit dreaming when he heard that sweet voice again. He saw himself turning in circles trying to see where it was coming from, and still couldn't see the woman he kept hearing. Brooklyn left the room when Bodhi came in, she needed to do Logan's hourly checkup, and needed to change his bags.
Bodhi talked to him while changing his bags, and exercised his legs. "Come on Logan, it's been a week now, you should be coming out of this. I promised your parents that I wouldn't give up on you, so help me out here." she said calmly.
She started giving him a sponge bath, and continued talking to him. She was curious about him, all her friends knew who he was, and was at their concert the night of the accident. She was supposed to be there with them, but had to stay late at work and couldn't make it. "I'd love to hear you sing sometime."
A month later, Grant received a phone call, he and the band were to come to the police station to talk about the accident. They were all back home in Vegas, and had to immediately fly back to Minneapolis.
"I'd like to see how Logan is doing while we're here." Brooklyn said to Grant.
"I already planned on it. I talked with the nurse earlier, and nothing has changed." he sighed. They walked into the police station and sat in a closed room, waiting for Officer Daniel to come into the room. "Hopefully we're here to receive some good news."
The officer smiled as he entered the room, and sat down with a file in hand. "We received the toxicology report, looks like the driver that caused the accident was drunk, and high on meth." he said, handing Grant the report. "We have the buses being stored out back, and you're more than welcome to grab anything you want out of them. The insurance companies have already assessed the damages to the buses, and to all the properties inside. I'm sure you have been in contact with them already, but now that we got the reports from them, you are able to take anything you want."
"Thank you."
"How is Logan doing?" the officer asked.
"Not good... from what I've been told, he's still in a coma, and nothing has changed... we were actually going to go visit him after our visit here."
They finished talking with the officer, and headed out back to the buses. Grant took pictures of both buses, and the way it looked inside. When he first saw the buses after the accident, he was able to take pictures, but he wanted to compare them, and make sure nothing was missing. They walked into the first bus and looked around, grabbing their phones, clothes, and whatever else they didn't want to leave behind.
Rick laughed, and picked up a bottle of Fireball "Wow, this survived the crash... I'm keeping this."
Brooklyn walked to the back of the bus, she knew Logan had his guitar back there, and wanted to see how damaged it was. She saw the guitar, grabbed it, and walked out handing it over to Grant "It's a little damaged, but I think he'll want this."
She walked back to the room, and began grabbing his things. She felt since he couldn't grab his own things, she grabbed everything and carried it out of the bus, setting them on the ground. She walked back to make sure she grabbed everything, and was about to walk away until she saw a notebook out the corner of her eye, and reached in between the wall and the bed, grabbing it.
She opened it, and began scanning it. Wanting to make sure that was what he had, and didn't want her to see. Seeing the music notes, and the writings, she knew that's what it was and held onto it.
"I think I grabbed everything of Logan's." she said, walking out of the room. "Where are we putting everything?"
"I have a rental truck on its way. What's that?" Grant asked, when he saw a notebook underneath her arm.
"Oh, it's Logan's... I was going to put it next to him when we go visit him... something we argued about before the crash, and I'm sure he'll want it."
Now that she had it in her hands, she was desperate to see what was inside. On the way to the hospital, her fingers kept sliding through the pages, debating on looking inside. She looked down at it, and sighed. Her heart was racing as she kept thinking about opening it, she didn't know why her heart was beating faster, he wasn't around for him to catch her looking at it, and nobody else knew what it was.
Sam turned his head towards her when he kept hearing her sighing, and breathing heavier, and looked at what she had in her hands. "Don't even think about it." he said, leaning closer to her.
"Think about doing what?"
He placed his finger on the notebook, and began tapping it "This, I know this is Logan's, and he has always been private about what he writes about... he only shares it with us when he wants us to learn the song."
"Who said I was going to look?"
"Your face."
At the hospital, they were all allowed to go inside Logan's room. It had been over a month since the accident and has had no progression, that the doctors wanted to try a different approach.
Brooklyn brought his guitar in the room, and set it on the table for him to see if he woke up, as well as his notebook. As bad as she wanted to see what he was writing the night this happened, she listened to Sam, and let it go.
They all stood around his bed talking to him, encouraging him to wake up, that he had fans waiting to see him back on the stage. They tried everything to wake him up, telling him stories, repeating his jokes and one liners he would always say.
Brooklyn leaned down and whispered in his ear, seeing if he would have any reaction for what she was about to say to him "I know you don't love me, but I do love you..." She turned her head, her lips sliding against his cheek and looking to see if he reacted to her, and nothing. So, she tried again "I have your notebook, the one you didn't want me to see or read... I think I should read it, I'm curious as to what song you were writing." She had no reaction, stood up, and stepped away from him.
Tim's eyes were glued to the machine, he was hoping Logan's heartrate would go up when Brooklyn talked to him, and when it didn't, he was losing hope, and knew the worst was about to happen. "For his heartrate not to rise after Brooklyn spoke to him, something has to be wrong. The two never get along, they can't even be in a room alone for five minutes before his blood pressure rises."
Grant looked at them and placed his hands on his hips "Maybe that's what he needs... maybe we should leave the room, let her do whatever it is that triggers him, and see if she can get him to wake up."
Brooklyn shook her head "No, it's not going to work. What I just said to him, should have waken him up. That notebook over there he did not want me to see." She pointed "I just told him I was going to read and look at it. He didn't even wink, move his hand, nothing... that's what our big fight was about that night. That guitar and that notebook..." She looked back at Logan, grabbed her purse, and limped out of the room in a hurry.
"I'll go after her." Grant said walking over to the door. "You guys figure something out... we need him to come back to us."
The guys looked at each other, Rick groaned and sighed "There has to be something that will trigger him to come back to us."
Tim shook his head, he didn't see it that way "I don't know... if Brooklyn couldn't even do it, I don't think anything we say to him will ever work."
With nothing working, they left for the hotel, and talked amongst themselves trying to figure out what to do. Grant wanted to get the guys back on the road, and brought up the idea of temporarily hiring a singer until Logan came back.
Sam and Tim didn't like the idea, but Rick on the other hand thought it might be a good idea. He didn't want to lose their fan base, where Sam and Tim thought it would be shitty of them to keep touring without Logan. "He was the one who created us, got us going... this is his band. He would be so hurt if he found out we went on without him." Tim said choked up.
"It'll only be temporary... you can let the fans know what's going on with him before the start of each show, dedicate the show to him throughout the night and end the night with a song for him." Grant urged. "It can be done... what do you think Brooklyn? You're awfully quiet over there."
"I agree with Rick, but I also agree with what you said... we can ways dedicate the show to him. We could also have the fans do a moment of silence for him, wishing him a good recovery, etcetera."
Grant handed them paperwork, and showed them a list of names of guys that were like Logan in the way he sang, and gave them a disk for them to listen to. Sam got upset and stood up "You've been planning this for a while, haven't you?"
"Yes, I'm not going to lie, but I have... I'm looking out for you guys, your name, and have been looking around for a few weeks now. Let me remind you, this is not a replacement of Logan, I would never do that to him."
"I'm sure he'll want us to do this." Brooklyn said quietly, nervously looking at Tim.
Back at the hospital, Bodhi had just left Logan's room and walked past Logan's doctor talking to another doctor, and overheard them talking about Logan's best interest. She stepped around the corner, and acted like she was working on the computer, entering in patient's information.
Her stomach dropped and quickly headed back to Logan's room. She leaned into Logan's ear, urging him to wake up, that if he didn't wake up within the next two weeks, they were calling his family in to sign his life away.
After she got off work, she was in a panic and thought about Logan's life. She called some of her friends asking to meet her at the bar, that it was important.
She went home, showered and changed and headed over to the bar. She found an empty table away from the other patrons and sat there waiting for her friends to arrive.
By the time they arrived, she had already drank three Sex On the Beach's. "Bodhi, what on earth was the urgency? It's a Wednesday night!" Samantha said, sitting down next to her.
"I need some advice, but I'll wait until Darla, and Chloe arrive." she said with a panicked look.
"You're scaring me, you have a freaked out look on your face."
"Maybe because I am." she said softly, taking a huge sip of her drink.
Darla and Chloe arrived, sat down, and waved a waitress over. After ordering their drinks, Bodhi tapped her fingers on the table, nervous to ask them their thoughts.
"OK, the reason why I called you all here, is because of something going on at work... remember the guy Logan I told you about?"
Darla smiled, "Yes... of course, I do. He's one of my favorite singers right now, he's from that band I tried getting you to come out to see... did he finally come out of his coma?"
"No." she said sadly "That's why you're all here. I need some advice... I overheard the doctor talking about him, and he wants to see his family sign off on him."
The waitress brought their drinks and set them down "Anything else I can get you ladies?" she asked happily.
"No, thank you." Bodhi was quick to say, wanting her to leave so she could finish talking. After the waitress walked away, she leaned closer, and spoke quietly "I was thinking, what would your thoughts be if I were to get him out of there before they could do that to him?"
Chloe spit out her drink, grabbed a napkin, and covered her mouth "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to do that. Let me hear you right... You want to get him out of the hospital? Isn't that illegal and dangerous?" she whispered loudly.
Bodhi kicked her shin, and hushed her up "Yes, it is, but I can't see them doing that to him. I've seen signs he's improving. He may not be awake, but I've gotten him to move his fingers a little. There's hope for him."
"Have you mentioned that to the doctor?" Samantha asked.
"Yes, I've put it in my reports, and spoke to him about it. He claims it was only my imagination... Nearly two months back, I promised his parents I would do whatever it took to get him to wake up, and that's exactly what I intend to do. And to do this, I need your help."
Hope you enjoyed the chapter!! Will she be able to get him out without getting caught?🤔🤔🤔
