Chapter 36- Special day
Logan was in the other room getting ready for their big day, feeling nervous as could be as he went over his vows. He didn't think getting married would be so nerve wracking, especially being that it was to the love of his life. One who he only had eyes for, and who gave him butterflies every time he looked at her, or when she was near him.
As he looked in the mirror, he looked back at himself and saw his father in him, hoping he could make Bodhi as happy and proud that she was his wife, the way his father made his mother feel after all these years. He didn't want to do, or say anything, to ruin his chances of spending the rest of his life with her, and to not make her ever want to look to another man for comfort.
Logan peeked his head out the door, hoping not to run into Bodhi on his way out. He heard her in the other room with the babies, and started walking fast over to the doorway. "Where are you heading off to in such a hurry?" Samantha asked, stopping him.
"Samantha, now isn't the time to stop me like this... don't you have someone else you can bug?" He began placing his shoes on, and froze when he heard Bodhi's voice "Bodhi, please tell your friend to get out of my face, I have to get over to my parents yet." he called out, irritated. He felt bad for snapping at Samantha, but was already late as it was, and didn't need her questioning him the way she was.
"I didn't mean for it to come off the way it did... all I wanted was for you to stop, so I could give you this..." she says, reaching her hand out, and giving him a gift "I figured you'd might need this before the wedding started."
He stood up, wiping his face "I'm sorry... I'm just so nervous right now, and I'm late getting over to my parents." He took the gift from her hand, and pulled her in for a hug "I'm sorry, thank you..."
"It's alright, I know your nerves have to be going crazy." she said bubbly, and with a smile "You can open it at your parents, you'll like it."
"Thanks again, but I've got to get going." he says, kissing her on the cheek.
She smiled, and walked back into the living room, stopping to look at Bodhi, and giggled when she saw her looking like she had a night of rough wild sex. Her hair was a mess, knotted, and sticking out everywhere, as well as mascara smeared all under her eyes "You really need to get ready, you look like shit."
"Gee... you think? It's like the kids know something is going on, and refuse to let me do anything..." she sighed "That's one reason I came looking for you, and didn't realize you were bugging Logan."
She leaned against the back of the couch, and crossed her arms "I wasn't bugging him... I wanted to give him something. He'll appreciate it once he opens it... what did you need?"
"Can you listen for them? I really need to shower and get ready; I can't get ready and take care of them all by myself... I just fed both of them, so they should be good there."
She waved for her to go, and insisted she had it from there "Go get ready." She grabbed her phone and called Chloe, wondering where she was, and if she was going to come over to Logan's to help do Bodhi's hair. After talking with Chloe, she called Darla seeing where she was at, and groaned when she didn't answer her phone. Shit... She was beginning to get worried that she wasn't coming, and remembered her talk with Bodhi about her, what was going on with her, and suddenly felt her heart breaking.
Logan walked into his parents' house, and into the kitchen to greet his mother "Hello mom, I finally made it." he said smiling, holding his arms out for a hug. "You look very nice." he says while hugging her "Smell good too."
"Thanks, you look good too." she says, grabbing his hands, and holding them tight. She looked at him and smiled, fighting back the tears. She couldn't believe her son was getting married, and before the other two. "Come with me, I have something for you."
"Oh shit, that reminds me, I have something Samantha gave me to open."
"That can wait, come on."
She walked him into the living room, and over to the piano, grabbing a photo album she had sitting on top. "Where did that album come from? I've never noticed that one before." Logan said with furrowed eyebrows, and watching his mother flip through the album.
"I found it in my closet when I was looking for something the other day, this is why I wanted you to come here first." she says, pulling a picture out and handing it to him "Put this is your pocket, he would love to be with you on your wedding day."
Logan looked at the picture, and studied it "Who is this? He looks awfully familiar, and almost like I've seen him recently."
She pointed at the picture, with a questionable look "Him? There's no way you've seen him recently... that's your grandfather, he passed away when you were a couple years old."
"I'd ask if you're sure, but obviously you are..." He stared at the picture, and continued to furrow his eyebrows, trying to think on where he saw him. It then hit him, he gasped loudly, and took a step back No fucking way... he muttered under his breath That's twice now...
"What? What is it?" she asked confused.
He put the picture in his top pocket, and smiled "Nothing... he just reminds me of someone who I ran into around Christmas." he grinned "Thank you, I'll cherish it forever."
Derrick walked in the living room, holding a couple glasses filled with scotch, handing one over to Logan. Logan's eyes widened and pushed the glass back "Oh no, I cannot have this before I say my vows."
"Why not? I have to have a toast with the man, who I never thought I'd see the day of him getting married." He held the glass in front of Logan's face, and wiggled it a little "Come on, it's just a little bit."
Logan laughed a mocking laugh, and took the glass of scotch "Why does everyone keep saying that they never thought they would ever see me get married, or even have kids?"
Jenna and Derrick looked at each other, and laughed "Well, think about it... you've never had a steady girlfriend. In high school, every week it seemed like you were bringing home a different girl, and would break their poor hearts whenever they came back around looking for you."
"I was only testing the waters... if they didn't seem like wifey material, I went to the next one." he winked.
Jenna rolled her eyes, and turned to Derrick "He's your son... that's for sure." She fixed his tie, and shook her head "Where are the other two? They should have been here by now..."
"I just spoke with Dalton, he says he has Calvin, and that they're on their way."
Jenna left the room when she heard the doorbell, and opened the door. She never saw the couple before, and tilted her head to the side looking confused "Can I help you?"
"Hello ma'am, we were told to meet Logan here... my name is Landon, and this here, is Darla." He held out his hand to shake hers, and smiled "It's nice to finally meet you."
Jenna smiled, and pointed her finger at him "I know you, well... know about you, you're the couple that helped save my son's life, aren't you?... come in." She opened the door, and called for Logan. She reached for Landon, and gave him a hug "Thank you so very much for helping Bodhi, it was risky, but I'm glad you did it... both of you."
"Would it be possible if Darla sat down? She's nearly five month's pregnant, and it's been quite the adventure for her." Landon sighed.
"Oh, go right ahead." She walked Darla into the living room, sat her down on the couch, then sat down next to her while the guys talked in the other room. "So, you're the famous Darla! I've heard so much about you." she said in awe.
"Yes ma'amm, that is I." she giggled, and turned to look at her "Thank you for not turning us in."
"Why on earth would I have done that? You all saved Logan, and the day he opened his eyes, he met the love of his life. And, I owe it all to you, Bodhi, and the others." She looked down at her stomach, and grinned "Five months huh?"
Darla placed her hand on her stomach, and let out a deep sigh "It's been a long, hard five months, this baby has not been liking it in the womb. On the bright side, it's been a better week for me, and the baby..."
Landon walked around the corner, and stopped when he heard Darla talking to Jenna about the pregnancy. He lowered his head, shaking it, after hearing her tell Jenna that she hadn't called Bodhi yet, and had felt guilty for hiding from her. He knew how close they are, and walked over to Logan, pulling him to the side.
"I just overheard Darla talking to your mother, is it true, Darla hasn't talked with Bodhi yet?"
"Nope." Logan shook his head, and shrugged his shoulders "I don't know what's going on, Bodhi has tried calling, and texting, she refuses to answer her. All I know is, Bodhi is pretty hurt about it, and didn't even think she was coming today."
He ran his fingers through his hair, and huffed "Sorry, I'll have a talk with her along the way."
Chloe finally showed up at Logan's house, just as Samantha was done fixing Bodhi's hair, and got an ugly look from Samantha "Where the hell have you been? You were supposed to be helping her get ready!"
"I was at the chapel with Rick, making sure everything was set up. She had no flowers ordered, nothing... so, Rick and I ran around town looking for flowers."
"I didn't want any flowers set up."
"What, why?" Samantha asked in shock.
"Because, then we're stuck with flowers that'll die right away."
Chloe laughed, and sat down across from her "You can always give them away... everyone loves flowers."
"I suppose... I'm sure Jenna will take some, and possibly my mom... which, where on earth is, she?"
"She's at the chapel waiting for you."
Bodhi stood up and groaned "How do I look; do I look alright?"
The girls were in awe, they loved how her dress fit on her, and thought it was the perfect dress for her. "Logan will want to tear that dress off, the moment he sees you." Samantha said giggling.
"What else is new?" she said, smiling "Let's go, I'd like to talk to my mom."
Chloe and Samantha got the kids into their car seats, and carried them out to the vehicle for Bodhi, and secured them into the car seat base. Bodhi was still on a lifting restrictions, and they didn't want her ruining her dress, before Logan was able to see her.
The pulled up to the chapel, and Sam was outside with Brooklyn. He walked over to the car, and opened the door for Bodhi, whistling "Whoa baby, you're one hot mama today!"
"I thought that was every day." she giggled, as she stepped out.
Brooklyn walked over to Bodhi, and smiled "You look very beautiful, Logan is lucky to have found you, and is damn lucky you're willing to put up with his nonsense." She gave her a hug, and closed her eyes as she was hugging her. After everything that Logan had done to her over the years, she was surprised she was even there, hugging his bride to be. She was for sure Logan was going to kick her out of the band at one point, and was happy he didn't. She never would have hooked up with Sam, and never would have resolved her issues with Logan.
"Thank you... and just so you know, Logan may act like he hates you, or hated you at one point, but deep down inside I know he loves you..."
Brooklyn pulled away, and looked at her surprised "He doesn't love me."
Bodhi laughed "Not that way, I mean as a friend. If you were hurt, stranded, or needed help, he would be there in a heartbeat... I know he would. He just likes to put up a front with you, just to get under your skin."
"Well, it goes both ways... I would be the same way with him. I may want to kill him at times, but what are friends for?"
Brooklyn helped Chloe grab the twins, and brought them into the small chapel. Bodhi walked inside, and into the brides waiting room, and saw her mom standing there, staring at the pictures on the wall. She walked over to her, and placed her hand on her shoulder "Mom?"
Adele turned and gasped when she looked at Bodhi, she pulled her in for a hug, and felt like not wanting to let go "Mom, your squeezing me just a little too tight... it's pulling on my stomach."
Adele pulled back, and apologized, she wasn't thinking and had forgotten that Bodhi gave birth a few weeks ago. She couldn't stop smiling at her daughter, and thought she looked a lot like her mother "You look amazingly beautiful, your grandmother would have loved to be here with you, and to share your special day..."
"I know she would."
"I have something for you." she says, looking inside her purse. She pulled out a letter she wrote, and handed it to her.
Bodhi looked at it, saw a chair beside her, and sat as she opened the letter from her mother. From the time you were born, I knew you were special. You were always the one who would light up the room the moment you stepped foot into it. You have always had a smile on your face, a smile that was contagious, and still is. You grew up to be a beautiful adult, and one who has a beautiful heart, mind, and soul. I know why Logan took a liking to you the moment he saw you, how couldn't he? I may be bias, but I took a liking to you too, the moment I first saw you too. I love you, and I wish you the best of luck. Knowing you, I know you'll make this marriage work, and I couldn't be any prouder of you and the woman you became. Love, Mom.
"Ah mom, you're going to make me cry... and I don't want my make up to run down my cheek." she says, trying to laugh.
Elijah knocked on the door, and peeked his head inside "They're all ready for her."
"I'm ready." She stood up, and had her mom help clean any make up that had roamed down her cheek, then walked over to her dad, giving him a hug.
"I'm proud of you... you look beautiful... just as beautiful as your mother looked on our wedding day."
She sat back down and placed her shoes on, then stood up "Now I can reach you." she giggled, kissing him on the cheek.
Her mother left the room, and sat down next to Chloe, and the babies. She turned around, saw Darla, smiled and reached her hand back, touching her face. She was happy to see her, and knew the moment Bodhi saw her, that she would finally feel complete that her best friend did show up for her big day.
"Please rise." the officiant asked.
Logan had recorded a song for Bodhi, for her to walk down the aisle, and when they officiant started the music, Bodhi recognized the tune, and started tearing up. She had heard him playing it lately, and assumed it was for a new upcoming album he was working on. While walking down the aisle, she got to where Darla was standing, and had to look again. She stopped walking, and made her way over to Darla, hugging her tight with tears in her eyes "Oh my God, you made it."
"I did, now get back over to your dad, and get over to Logan... he's waiting for you." Darla said, wiping the tears away from her eyes.
Elijah finished walking Bodhi over to Logan, shook his hand, then turned to Bodhi, kissing her cheek, and giving her one last hug "I love you."
After listening to the officiant for twenty minutes, he looked at Logan and asked for him to say his vows.
"Bodhi, I know I've told you this before, but you are the light of my life, my angel, and my hero. I owe the rest of my life to you, and I couldn't imagine not spending the rest of my life with you. You are my best friend, the love of my life, and I would do anything for you, even if you told me to get on my hands and knees, and ask me to bark like a dog, I would." he laughed "You're my rock, my queen, and my number one priority. With this ring, I promise to cherish you, shower you with all the love I can give, and some... I promise to provide for you, protect you, and to give you as many children you will allow me to give. I love you, nothing, and no one will ever stand in my way and to keep me from ever not loving you." He placed the ring on her finger, and smiled while mouthing I love you.
The officiant looked at Bodhi, and smiled "You may now say your vows to Logan."
"Logan, the moment I saw you, I felt it in my heart and somehow I knew that you were someone special. Every time I touched you while I was taking care of you, I felt a strong bond, something that I never felt before with anyone. You may not have been awake at the time, but there was something that kept drawing me to you. My friends thought I was crazy for thinking the way I did, and for what I did, but for some strange reason I knew in my heart that you were holding the key. You say that you'll do anything for me, well that goes the same for me, I'll do anything for you. Only, I won't get on all fours, and bark like a dog, if you were to ask..." she giggled, smiled, and looked over at everyone watching them, feeling embarrassed. She looked back at Logan, and smiled "But I do promise to make you happy, and will give you every ounce of love I have, and for only you. You are the only one I have eyes for, and that'll never change, I'll never stop loving you... ever. You say you'll give me as many kids as I want? Well, I'll give you however many you want... now, if you were to come to me and say that you want ten kids, well... then we'll need to talk, because that might not happen." she laughed, making him laugh. She slid the ring on his finger, and looked up at him "I love you."
"Ladies and gentleman, I know pronounce you Mrs. Bodhi and Logan Meyer... you may now kiss your bride."
"With pleasure." Logan grinned while looking at the officiant. He looked at Bodhi, cupped the back of her head, and pulled her in for a long, passionate kiss. Kissing her until she began gasping for air, and pulled back. "Damn I want to rip that dress off you right now, and make wild passionate love to you, for days." he said quietly in her ear.
