Chapter 23- While the cat's away, the mouse will play
Weeks had gone by, and they were nearing Thanksgiving. They were a day away from having a week off, and to enjoy spending the holiday with their families. Bodhi had been missing her friends, and was wondering what they had been up to since she left, and tried calling each of them, with having no such luck with getting a hold of either one of them.
Logan walked to the back of the bus to see what Bodhi was up to, and when he walked into the bedroom, he noticed she was looking down, and sat down next to her "What's with the long face?"
"I've been trying to get a hold of my friends for days, wanting to see how they've been, and nobody will answer their phones... I've been missing them, and could use a friend to talk to... not that I don't mind talking with you, it's just not the same, you know what I mean?"
Logan wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and leaned over, kissing her on the lips "I understand, and I'm sure they're working, or have been extremely busy."
"I know, but to not even get a text message back from them, is just odd." she says, looking at her phone in her hands "I almost feel like something is wrong... what if the hospital or police changed their minds, and decided to press charges anyway?"
He removed the phone from her hands, and set it down on the other side of him. Taking her hand, he held onto it tight, and looked her in the eyes "I'm 99.9% positive they didn't rescind on their word, we had a deal, and Grant made sure they wouldn't do such a thing."
"How would you know? We've been on the road for nearly two months, anything could have happened." she says, looking at him with saddened eyes.
He shook his head, knowing they didn't get arrested, or were charged with any crime "Believe me, they aren't in any trouble. Besides, they had no clue who helped you, remember?"
"Yea, but Darla works with the hospital, drives the ambulances, they could have found out she was involved."
He smiled "I'll guarantee to you, they're all fine." he says, trying to assure her that everything was all right.
He looked at her and smiled, wanting to cheer her up, he figured he would have her go out and talk with the band, and get her mind off her friends "Come on, we're almost to Vegas, our last show before Thanksgiving, and before we hit the road again and finish off the tour." he says, taking her hand, wanting her to come and sit with the band.
She sighed, followed him to the front of the bus, and sat down on the couch with a frown on her face. She was worried, and no matter what Logan said, she still believed her friends were in jail.
"Cheer up buttercup." Sam said smiling, after seeing Bodhi's frown "Just think, we have a week off after tonight, and we'll be able to enjoy a feast in a couple days."
She looked up, and smiled "I know..."
They finally arrived in downtown Vegas, and checked into the Golden Nugget. Being that their show was going to be there, they decided they would all spend the night at the casino, and not have to worry about anything until the next day.
After bringing their belongings to their rooms, they headed down, and began getting ready for the concert. Bodhi tried one more time to get a hold of her friends, and gave up after twenty minutes when nobody would answer. She then called her parents, wanting to hear their voices, to let them know where she was, and to let them know she'll be home before Christmas.
Grant found Bodhi and had her get off the phone, walked her to where she needed to be, and surprised her to who was all standing there, waiting for her. "Oh my God!!" Bodhi screamed, and ran over to her friends, jumping up and down as she hugged them "I've been trying to reach you girls for days! Why haven't you answered me?" she asked, as she pulled out of their group hug.
Darla giggled "Do you know how hard it was for us not to answer your phone calls, and to not even answer any of your texts?"
"Why wouldn't you have? I was so damn worried!"
Chloe giggled, and gave Bodhi a hug "If we would have talked to you, we would have blown the surprise, so, we figured it was best to ignore you."
"This was Logan's idea, wasn't it?"
"How else would we have known where to be, and where to meet?" Samantha says with a smile.
Bodhi turned around, and looked at Grant "Thank you." she said, sounding happy, and relieved, knowing her friends weren't in jail, and knowing he took part in her friends being there.
Throughout the concert, the girls had the time of their lives, singing and dancing to the music, and acting like teenagers that were finally able to go out and have fun, without anyone telling them they couldn't.
Logan looked over at the girls, and was thrilled to see his love smiling, and having a good time. He knew later on, that he would be in trouble for hiding the reunion he had planned with her friends for her, and hoped she'd forgive him. He pointed over to them, and smiled "This is for you, girls."
You show us everything you've got
You keep on dancin' and the room gets hot
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You say you wanna go for a spin
The party's just begun, we'll let you in
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You keep on shoutin', you keep on shoutin'
I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day
You keep on saying you'll be mine for a while
You're lookin' fancy and I like your style
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You show us everything you've got
Baby, baby that's quite a lot
And you drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You keep on shoutin', you keep on shoutin'
I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day...
Logan dedicated the song to the girls, wanting for them to get ready for the night he had planned after the concert, and for the next few days, by taking the girls out for a night on the town. Before the concert had ended, Bodhi walked the girls backstage, and was stopped by security. "These girls cannot be back here." The one security officer said, as he placed his arm out, blocking them from walking.
"Oh shit." Bodhi says, turning around, and looking for Grant. "I forgot to get you passes, didn't Grant give you any?"
Samantha shook her head no "He said he had something for us, but not sure what he meant by that."
"I'll go find him." Bodhi turned back around to head over to the stage, and saw Grant sprinting over to them.
He yelled at the security guard, letting him know that he had their badges. He was sweating, out of breath, and leaned forward trying to catch his breath when he got over to the girls "Didn't Logan tell you to get some exercise?" Bodhi asked, giggling.
"Don't start..."
Bodhi giggled, took the badges from his hand, and handed them to her friends "See, they can be back here." she smirked, as she looked to the security guard. The guy backed off, and allowed them to enter backstage. She brought them over to where the guys would head over to after the concert, and talked about what they have all been up to since she left, while waiting for the band.
"So, what have you been up to?" Darla asked.
"Nothing much really, just been going from town to town is all. It's been kind of neat seeing the different parts of the country, but sitting in a bus all those hours, gets a little boring." she snickered "I can't complain much, Logan has made it worth my while, and I've had a lot of fun. Only thing that has been hard is, that I've been missing my girls."
"We've missed you too, and when Logan called us, asking for us to come to the show and to surprise you, we couldn't pass it up. He paid for the airline tickets, the hotel room, and gave us a visa card for spending money." Chole said excitedly.
Bodhi's mouth dropped, she was happy to hear he paid for their expenses, but was in shock to hear he gave them spending money "How much did he give you?"
"Three-grand." Chloe said twisting her lips, hoping she wouldn't get upset with Logan. "But don't worry, we didn't plan on spending that and brought our own money." she says, touching Bodhi's arm.
"Wow, how long ago did he get a hold of you?"
The girls looked at each other, shrugging their shoulders and trying to remember when "Maybe like, three weeks ago?" Darla said unsure.
Bodhi was shocked, and only made her love Logan even more. She heard the guys coming, and turned around, smiling away when she saw Logan. She ran towards him, and jumped into his arms, kissing him repeatedly "Thank you, thank you, thank you."
"You're welcome... I told you they weren't in any trouble." he winked as he set her down. He cupped her face and grinned "I had called Darla, then had Grant set the whole thing up, I had to sneak your phone while you were sleeping, and find your friends numbers to give Grant." he chuckled "Hope you're not mad that I did that."
"I'm not mad, why would I be?" she asked, hugging him, and pulling him in for a kiss "I always told you before to use my phone, I have nothing to hide."
Logan walked the girls into the casino, and handed them all some money to go play whatever they wanted. He turned to the guys, and ran his hand through his hair "I think I'll have my hands full tonight, and for the next few days." he smiled.
"Good luck! We're going to wander around ourselves." Rick said, patting Logan's back. "Maybe we'll run into you later."
Logan turned around, lost sight of the girls, and began walking around. As he walked around the casino looking for the girls, he kept getting stopped to sign autographs, and to have their pictures taken with him.
A group of girls ran up to Logan, smiling, and begging for him to sign their shirts. He took one look at them, and had to turn his head, looking to see if Bodhi was nearby. The girls were barley dressed, their breasts were hanging out the tops of their shirts, butt cheeks were hanging out of their shorts, and all were looking at him hoping he would take them back to his room.
He felt uncomfortable, and exhaled slowly, while taking a pen from one of the girls' hand, and signed the back of her shirt.
Bodhi happened to walk by, and once she realized it was Logan standing there with the girls, she stepped back, and stood there with her arms crossed, watching him.
She began giggling when she noticed his expression, each time a girl would turn around and have him sign their shirt. He looked up as he was signing, turned his head and quickly turned back when he saw Bodhi watching him.
His eyes widened and smiled, waving her over to him. "Ladies, I'd like for you to meet the love of my life, Bodhi." he says, reaching his arm out as she approached, and wrapped his arm around her.
Bodhi held her hand out, and smiled "Nice to meet you ladies."
"Hi." they all said, sounding disappointed as they shook her hand.
Logan looked at her, and snuck in a kiss, showing them he was taken, and proud that she was his "Winning anything?"
"Not me, but Samantha won a couple hundred dollars, Darla won a little bit, and Chloe hit big on a couple machines."
Logan saluted the girls, and walked around with Bodhi, his arm around her, and rested his head on top of hers. "We can always go to the strip if you want, or would you rather stay downtown and hit the smaller casinos?"
"The strip." she said in awe.
"OK, that was my original plan for tonight, but forgot about what time the concert ended. Otherwise I can bring you girls out there tomorrow night where you can see more, it's late, and most of the shows are done at this time."
"Maybe we should wait, I'd rather see it all... I'd like to go see the light show anyway, is that still going?"
He looked at his watch and smiled "It starts again in five minutes, and I believe it's the last show of the night."
She grabbed his hand, and began searching for her friends, and found them by the exit doors. The girls knew the light show was about to start, and couldn't find Bodhi so they began heading outside figuring maybe she was out there.
The next few days, Logan had given Bodhi money to do whatever she wanted with her friends, and let the girls roam the town with his vehicle. They hit every show possible, shopped till they dropped, and hit the casino's, winning some, and losing some.
Meanwhile, Logan had been out doing his own thing, he had his own plans, and did a little shopping of his own. He had something on his mind, and sent Bodhi a message saying he wouldn't be home until the next day, and not to worry, that he had some things to take care of. He had Grant drive him to the airport, and insisted that he kept an eye on Bodhi, making sure she would be alright, and to help her with anything that she needed.
"I hope you know what you're doing." Grant said to him as Logan got out of his vehicle.
Logan leaned back into the vehicle and smiled "I know exactly what I'm doing. Just make sure Bodhi's safe, I'll try and fly back today if I can, if not, it'll be first thing tomorrow."
"Better hurry." Grant sighed.
Bodhi's phone had died, and didn't see Logan's text message right away. When she and her friends got back to Logan's house, she plugged her phone in and turned her phone on. Her heart dropped when she saw Logan's message and wondered what he was doing that he wouldn't be back until the next day, and sent him a message back. I just saw your message, what's going on?
When she didn't receive a message back, she called Grant. All I can say is, he will be gone until later tonight, or sometime tomorrow. Grant said to her, feeling bad that she sounded worried on the phone. He doesn't want you to worry, and would like for you and your girlfriends to have fun on his expense. He mentioned that he left an envelope on the kitchen counter for you and your friends with some money inside, and to use it for whatever you like.
"I don't get it, why would he leave like that? What was so important that he had to do?"
I'm just relaying the message, and to let you know if you need anything, to give me a call.
Bodhi hung up the phone, and looked at her friends "I guess it's just us for tonight, Logan's out doing something and won't be back until tomorrow." she said, frowning. She sat down at the counter, saw the envelope, and opened it. She saw the cash, and furrowed her eyebrows after counting the money, and reading the note he left inside.
I don't mean to leave you like this, but I want you to know that it's for a good thing. I would like for you and your friends to go out, and have fun. If you do decide to go out, and head for the casino or bars, please ask for Grant to go with you girls. I'd feel better if he was with, and acted as if he was your bodyguard, making sure you girls are safe. There are a lot of crazies out there, and it's a busy place, anything can happen. Love you Hun, Logan...
"What's going on?" Darla asked.
Bodhi shrugged her shoulders and handed her the note he left for her. "Looks like he's doing something important."
Darla read the letter, and smiled. She had some ideas on where they could go, and began to giggle "Well, get a hold of Grant, tell him he's bringing us to see the Chippendales."
"The Chippendales?" she asked, giggling "Logan would kill me."
"No, he wouldn't... he said to do whatever we want, and he's been giving us money all week. We still have that card he gave us, plus the cash he left you, we'll have lots of fun!"
Bodhi giggled, and shook her head. She didn't know if she should call Grant to bring them to see strippers, but then got a laugh out of it the more she thought about it, and called him. Grant picked them up an hour later, and looked at Bodhi "Where am I bringing you gals?"
"The Rio Suites Hotel and Casino." Bodhi said smiling ear to ear.
"Oh, you girls are going to try your luck there tonight?"
"Well..."
Darla leaned forward, and smiled "Didn't Bodhi tell you; you're bringing us to see the Chippendales?"
Grant quickly looked over at Bodhi, and widened his eyes "You're not making me go in there with you ladies, are you?"
"Why yes we are... Logan's orders." Bodhi said, giggling.
Grant slid down in his seat as he drove, and began to sweat. This was the last place he expected to be taking the girls, and felt like killing Logan when he returned for making him do this. He walked inside with the girls, and sat down at the bar "I'll just sit right here and wait."
"Oh no, you're sitting with us." Bodhi said, grabbing his arm, and held onto him as they got to their seats. "Be a good sport." she says, smiling.
"Front row?" he groaned. He leaned back in his chair and covered his eyes "I cannot believe you girls are making me do this."
Bodhi and the girls ordered their drinks, and bought one for Grant. Bodhi held out a whiskey on the rocks to Grant, and tried shoving it in his hand. He uncovered his eyes to see what she was doing, and grabbed the glass, slamming the entire drink "Keep em coming." he groaned.
"If I kept them coming, how would we get home?"
"I'll find a way."
She laughed, waved the waitress over, ordered Grant a double whiskey straight up, and told him that was all she was ordering him for the rest of the night. Throughout the night, the girls had fun picking on Grant as the dancers danced, trying to get him to watch, and then surprised him.
Grant had his eyes closed, and didn't realize what the girls had done. As he was sitting there, he felt some grinding on his lap, heard the girls laughing, whistling, and screaming, and uncovered his eyes to see a male dancer, dancing on his lap. His hands quickly went up in the air, and sweat started pouring from his forehead, and armpits "Woah, woah, woah! I'm not that kind of guy!" he yelled. He turned his head towards Bodhi, and shook his head, pointing "Logan owes me big time for this..."
