Chapter 18- King of rock and roll
"As much as I want to make love to you right now, we probably should go out there, and sit with everyone. I'm sure they have a lot of questions." Logan says, pecking at her lips "Don't worry about Brooklyn, just ignore her if she says anything."
She looked at him, and pouted "Do you know how hard that'll be?"
"I'll put her in her place if I have to." he smiled. He sat up, and reached for her hand "Come on, let's go sit with them for a bit."
They walked out, and over to the band. They were sitting around the table, doing shots, and Rick smiled when he saw the two standing there "Heeeyyy... about time you two come and join us."
Logan sat down, and slid over for Bodhi to sit. "What a night, hey?"
"You're telling me, this was one night we were all not expecting... how on earth did you get Grant to keep this all a secret?" Sam asked, while drinking his shot. He grabbed a couple glasses from the center of the table, poured some fireball into the glasses, and slid them over to Logan and Bodhi.
Logan looked down at his shot and chuckled "That was easy, I threatened him."
"No way?" Rick laughed "Chicken shit."
"How on earth did he find you anyway? We were told you were kidnapped from the hospital." Sam asked.
"That's a story I don't feel like getting into at the moment, I'm just happy to be here with all of you." Logan smiled, looking at Bodhi, with his arm wrapped around her. He picked up his shot, and held it up to Bodhi "Shot?" he asked.
She picked up her shot, clinked it to his, and drank hers. "I remember this stuff." she giggled, thinking back to the night she got wasted.
"We always drink this after our concerts, it's our way of unwinding, and celebrating a good night." Tim said, pouring him another glass, asking if anyone else wanted one.
They all talked for a while, talked about their next show, and talked about how Logan decided to keep Kurt on. He really didn't need another guy in the band, but felt guilty to just get rid of him like that. He thought he played, and sang well, and figured it would be good to have one more guy. Logan was also surprised that Brooklyn didn't say a word the entire night, only thing he noticed her doing, was eyeing Bodhi every now and then.
The next day, they woke up in Tennessee, and since they didn't have a show until the next day, they figured they would do some sight-seeing. "I think I'd like to take Bodhi to see Graceland. He's been one of my idol's since I was a kid, and it would be nice to see his abode, and whatnot."
"I would love to." Bodhi said in awe.
"Hey, what do you think Elvis would be doing today, if he were alive?" Logan asked, looking at her with a serious look.
"I don't know, I'm sure he would be singing still." she says shrugging her shoulders.
He chuckled "I think if he were alive today, he'd be scratching inside of his coffin, trying to get out."
Bodhi widened her eyes, shoving him "Logan!" she giggled.
"What? Well it's true! Everyone to this day, still believes he's alive." he chuckled. "You know, last night after you had fallen asleep, I had heard there was an Elvis impersonator in the building next to us, I went over to see him, and was told he left the building." he says, smirking.
"Oh my God, let's go..." she giggled.
"Anyone else coming along, or is it just us?" Logan asked, looking at the guys.
"Why don't we all just go, it'll be fun. We can just take the bus, that way Grant doesn't have to go out renting vehicles for all of us." Tim said.
"Works for me."
Logan had their bus driver take them to Graceland, the closer they got to it, the more excited he became. As much as he had always wanted to visit Graceland, he had no idea he would be this excited about visiting a place, as he was right now. His excitement had him shaking, and couldn't stop looking out the window, watching and waiting for them to pull up to it.
He saw Graceland, and turned to Bodhi "We're here." he says in awe, smiling, and cupping her face to kiss her lips.
As they were getting ready to get off the bus, Logan turned around and smirked "What's stiff and excites women?"
"Logan, we all know what that is... get off the damn bus." Sam laughed.
"I wasn't thinking that, you perv... it's Elvis Presley." he laughed.
"The way you're acting, he's exciting you." Bodhi says giggling "Let's go touring the place." she says, pushing him to get off the bus.
All left the bus, except Brooklyn. She had no interest in being there, and didn't want to be spending time with Logan and his new girlfriend. She sat on the bus moping for a while, and kept looking out the window. She thought it looked cool on the outside, and thought maybe it would be cool to go check out.
She stood up and started to exit the bus until it hit her, she turned around and looked at the back of the bus. I wonder if he has that damn notebook? She muttered.
At that point she didn't care anymore, and was curious as ever what he was writing at the time before the accident. She walked to the back room, and began digging around, hoping to find it.
After an hour of searching, she decided to look between the mattress and the bed Bingo she says, smiling when she pulled it out. She sat on the bed, opened it up and looked through it, impressed at the songs he had written. She then got to the last one, and felt her heart rate pick up when she realized it was the song he had been working on that night.
As she read it, her blood began to boil, and was furious at what it had all said. You little fucker she groaned.
Logan, Bodhi, and the guys continued touring Graceland, and were all in awe with everything, how beautiful it looked throughout the home, and outside the home. Logan looked at Bodhi, and pointed over to the pool "Now that's the kind of pool I would like to have." he said smiling, admiring the shape of it.
"You want it to look like a guitar?"
"Of course! Isn't it cool? I think it would be excellent to have a replica made of it, even a replica of the home would be neat."
"And very expensive." she says, bursting his bubble.
"Oh well, I can dream right?" he asked, smiling "I got one thing from my dreams." he says, winking.
They spent nearly the entire day touring Graceland, and were ready to go out and have a little fun. They all met at the exit, and noticed one member was still missing, and stood there waiting for her to show up. After twenty minutes they began looking around for Brooklyn "Did she not go with inside?" Rick asked.
"Now that you mention it, I didn't even see her get off the bus." Tim said.
"What the fuck..." Logan groaned "Well... we better go and see if she's in the damn bus."
While the guys were worried about Brooklyn, and hoping nothing happened to her, Logan was on a different page than his friends, and was furious with her for playing childish games. They all got on the bus, saw her lounged on the couch reading a magazine, and began questioning her.
She laid the magazine down across her chest, and rolled her eyes over to them "I changed my mind, and felt like relaxing... would it have mattered if I went? You all probably didn't even realize I wasn't with until the end, anyway."
Rick wanted to laugh, she had a point there, but was still curious as to why she wouldn't go and check out the King of rock and roll's place "It would have been nice if you had, you missed out on an amazing place."
She huffed "I didn't miss a thing. Now why don't you all just leave me alone, and let me be."
"You know, maybe tomorrow we should check out the zoo." Logan snapped, eyeing Brooklyn.
Rick laughed "Seriously... the zoo?"
"Yea, the zoo... I always thought it would be nice to meet her family. We'd finally understand where she came from." Logan growled.
Brooklyn threw the magazine behind her and stood up, getting inches away from his face "You're so far up your own ass, you can lick your own tonsils..." she snarled, slapping him hard across the face.
Logan moved his face to the side, rubbing the area she slapped and remembering the last time she slapped him that way "I'd give you a nasty look for slapping me like that, but you've already got one... now get out of my face."
Bodhi, and the guys stood there watching the two bicker back and forth, Rick couldn't take it anymore and stepped in between them placing his one hand on Logan's chest, and his other hand on Brooklyn's shoulder asking that they stay away from each other the rest of the night. Tim looked at Kurt and leaned into his ear "Welcome to the complete band... this shit has been going on between them for over six years, sometimes it's comical, and other times, one of us has to step in and separate the two." he chuckled. "But this here, this is actually nothing."
"Damn you would think the two were married." Kurt said back quietly, enjoying watching the two argue back and forth.
Tim laughed "Yea right, these two would never ever get married, we would have been at a funeral already." he grinned.
Brooklyn left the guys, and laid on one of the beds in the back, she was fuming and couldn't get what Logan wrote out of her mind, knowing it was meant for her. She grabbed her phone, put on her headphones, and turned on music wanting to block everyone out.
"I think she needs to get laid." Kurt joked.
"Yea right, the only way she'll get laid is, if she crawled up a chicken's ass and waited." Logan smarted off, sitting down at the table and running his hands through his hair. "God, she just infuriates me! Are you sure you don't want to hire someone else, and replace her?" he asked, looking over at Sam.
"Now, now... let's all just take a breather." Sam sighed. "Are we still going to go out, or does everyone just want to turn in for the night?"
Bodhi didn't care what they did, all she knew was, that she needed to somehow get Logan to calm down, and relax before he had a setback, and ended up in the hospital. She scooted over to Logan, and leaned her head on his shoulder "I'm open for anything, but I need you to lower your blood pressure. I don't feel like being in the hospital all night."
He turned his head, resting his chin on top of her head, and wrapped his arm around her "I'll be fine." he says, kissing the top of her head. "Now do you understand what I meant, when I told you about, her and I?" he asked, squeezing her tighter. "It's been like this since day one..."
"Instead of going out, why don't we just stop at the liquor store, grab what we want, and have our own little party, either here in the bus, or in the hotel room." Tim says, trying to make the decision.
"Sure, we can go back to the hotel, stay in here and party, and kick the bitch out. She can go to her room like a little girl, and pout for the rest of the night." Bodhi looked up at Logan, and shook her head "Why don't you just drop it and let her be? By you two fighting like that, isn't solving anything. Obviously, it's been going on for years, nothing is going to ever change."
Logan looked away from Bodhi, he knew she was right, and decided to drop it for now, not wanting to upset Bodhi. He looked at the guys and asked what the song list was for tomorrow.
"Hang on." Rick pulled out the program from their folder, and handed it over to Logan.
Logan looked at it, and slid it in the center of the table "I'd like to change it up a little. Being that we're here, I'd like to throw a couple of Elvis's songs in the program, as a tribute... we are a tribute band, am I right?"
Sam thought it was a good idea, all of them knew his songs, and had played them in the past "Which songs were you thinking about adding?"
"Suspicious Minds, All Shook Up, and Don't Be Cruel, possibly Heartbreak Hotel?... and I figured for the princess, to add Kiss Me Deadly, the way her attitude has been, the song will be perfect, and it may lighten her up."
"No pun intended with the music choices?" Kurt laughed, while looking at Logan. "I'm all for it." He had a feeling what he was up to, he didn't know him well, but has been able to figure him out just by watching and listening to him, and was getting a kick out of him.
"Nope, no pun intended... everyone else on the same page?"
"You're the boss!" Rick says "Let's hit the liquor store, and have a little fun."
They all sat on the bus, drank, talked, played games and got to know Bodhi better. The more they drank, the more Logan and Bodhi opened up, admitted to what had happened, and why she did what she did. They were all shocked, but impressed with her, and were amazed with what she did.
Sam poured shots for everyone and handed them out "This calls for a toast to Bodhi." he says, holding his glass up. "To Bodhi, thank you for saving our friend, our brother, without your strength, and courage of doing something that could have landed you in jail, or worse... prison, you deserve a huge shout out... thank you so much."
Brooklyn walked by everyone, not saying a word, and headed out of the bus. The guys looked at each other shrugging their shoulders "Maybe you should go talk to her." Rick said to Logan.
"Me?" he asked, pointing at himself "Why would I do that? That's a death wish... maybe you should go talk to her, if you're that worried about her."
"I'll go talk to her, seems like she listens to me." Sam says, standing up. He left the bus, and ran after her, catching up to her as she walked inside the hotel.
They walked into the hotel bar, sat down, and ordered a couple drinks. Sam folded his hands and stared at her "Whatever is bothering you, you should talk, try and get all that anger out... whatever you're keeping inside you isn't good."
"I don't know what to say... I don't like fighting with Logan, but he just pisses me off..."
"As you do to him, it's not good. You two are like fire and ice, oil and water... if you have a thing for him, let it go and move on. Obviously, he doesn't want you."
"Yeah, but he did at one time." she sighed, staring at her drink the bartender just set in front of her. "I read it."
He looked over at her, and scrunched his eyebrows "You read what?"
"His music he was writing, earlier today while you were all touring Graceland. I found his notebook, and read it."
"You didn't..." he said in shock.
"I did, and that night we were in that accident he wrote a song... about me."
He shook his head and looked away from her "I can't believe you did that... I told you not to even think about reading it."
"I know, but I was curious, and had the perfect opportunity to read it... now I know exactly how he feels about me." She looked away, wishing she would have listened to him before. "I know he's told me how he felt, I just never believed him, and thought it was all an act until I read the song he wrote, it says it all."
Sam shook his head "Well then, put on your big girl panties, and find someone who wants you... Logan obviously found someone he adores, and to be honest, she's probably the best girl for him."
******
The next night before the concert, Brooklyn walked in on Logan making out with Bodhi backstage against the wall, and made a sound of disgust Please... she muttered "Don't mind me, I'm just grabbing the song setlist."
Logan pulled away from Bodhi, smiled, and chuckled "I better get ready." She gave him one more kiss, and went on her way. Logan went back in the dressing room, changed into his outfit, and sat down on the chair for a minute.
He wanted it to be a good night for everyone, and felt he needed to apologize for saying what he did to Brooklyn the night before. As he walked into the hallway, he bumped into her.
"Just the person I needed to see." he said kindly.
"What do you want?" she snarled.
He ran his hand through his hair, and looked over at the wall, trying to find the right words, not wanting her to think he wants anything to do with her. "About last night, I want to apologize for my choice of words, I was upset, angry and said things I shouldn't have."
"Yeah, well... I meant what I said." she says, trying to walk past him, but was stopped when he placed his hands on her shoulders.
"I'm serious... I want us all to have fun tonight, whatever grudge you have on me, put it to the side... please."
She refused to look him in the eyes, knowing she would try and kiss him again, and looked to the ground "I know how you feel about me, and I'm sorry things couldn't work out between us. I tried, and I thought you liked me too. That was, until I saw you with her. I see you're happy with her, something I never got to see with me." she sighed. "I'm here to do a job, and that's all I'll be here. See you on the stage."
She walked away, leaving Logan standing there wanting to punch the wall. He left, found the guys and put her behind him. He wasn't about to let her ruin his night, he apologized, and that was the best she was going to get from him.
"Are we all ready?"
They headed for the stage, and to where they were supposed to be with their instruments, and began the concert, starting off with Logan singing an Elvis tune.
A well'a bless my soul
What'sa wrong with me?
I'm itchin' like a man in a fuzzy tree
My friends say I'm actin' wild as a bug
I'm in love
I'm all shook up
Mm mm mm, mm, yay, yay, yay
Well, my hands are shaky and my knees are weak
I can't seem to stand on my own two feet
Who do you think of when you have such luck?
I'm in love
I'm all shook up
Mm mm mm, mm, yay, yay, yay
Hope you enjoyed the chapter!😊😍❤
