Chapter 13- Demanding help

"No, there's private stuff in that notebook, my friends and band members know themselves not to look inside it." he says to Bodhi, rubbing his temples with his one hand.

Bodhi was surprised by the way Logan was talking, and stepped away from him "I don't know why you're freaked out about your notebook, but I have it put away, along with your guitar. When we get back, I'll get them out for you." She walked away, and headed for the bar.

She sat down at the bar, ordered herself a drink, a shot, and slammed her shot immediately upon receiving it "Thanks, I needed that." she says to the bartender, handing him the glass. A man walked over to her, sat down next to her, and stared at her. She could feel eyes on her, and turned her head towards him "Can I help you?"

He smiled at her "My name is Alex, and I must say, you look so innocent, so sweet, and as long as I have a face, you will always have a seat."

Disgusted by his words, she turned away from him "Go find someone else to bug." she snapped.

Logan was watching Bodhi, saw the man talking to her, and stood up looking pissed "That guy better watch who he's messing with." He walked over to Bodhi, and stood between her and the guy next to her. "Come on Hun, let's go dance." he said, as he placed his hand on her back.

She grabbed her drink off the bar, and walked away, not saying a word. He looked at the guy and leaned closer to his face "I suggest you leave my love alone, we came here to have a good time tonight, and to not be hassled by anyone."

"Not my problem you can't keep her next to you. By the way it looked, she wasn't too happy with you either, now step away from me, before you find a fist in your face." he said, taking a drink of his beer.

"I don't want any problems; all I ask is that you stay away from her."

"Whatever." he says, waving him off. "Go keep your girl in line." he growled.

Logan walked away from the man, saw Bodhi standing next to Darla, and walked over to her, placing his hand on the small of her back when he approached her "Let's dance."

She set her drink down, and walked with Logan to the dance floor. "Why are we dancing to karaoke music?"

"I wanted to talk to you, I didn't mean to get worked up about my notebook... it's just that there are some songs in there that I was working on, and I didn't want anyone seeing them. They're not finished, and one of them I would like to just get rid of all together."

"Why? Why won't you let anyone look at them? Maybe I can help if you're stuck."

He looked away from her and bit the inside of his cheek, thinking. "Have you ever looked inside it?"

"No, not really. I opened it the first time I saw it, and saw a bunch of writings and closed it up. I thought Brooklyn was keeping notes or something for you... but I never read it."

"Thanks." he said relieved, but was more worried if Brooklyn read any of it.

She had him look at her, and as she looked him in the eyes, she questioned him on why it was so important that she or anyone else not read any of it "Did you write songs about another woman?"

"Bodhi, let's just drop it, you're the last person on this earth that I want to fight with. For six straight years I fought with someone, and I hated it, I don't want to fight with you. Let's have fun, please."

"Fine... let's have fun." She let go of him, and walked over to their table. "I don't feel like singing anymore, I'd rather have a couple more drinks, and go home."

The next couple hours, Bodhi drank more shots than she could handle and couldn't stand or talk any longer. Logan looked at everyone and laughed "I guess the parties over." He picked her up, and placed her over his shoulder, doing the fireman's carry, and carried her out to the car.

The next morning, Bodhi woke up with a pounding headache. She rolled onto her back and placed her hand on her forehead groaning, trying to remember the night.

She turned her head to the side to ask Logan to get her some Tylenol, saw an empty side, and groaned. She slowly got out of bed, and realized she was in the same clothes as the night before, and held her head, pissed at herself for getting wasted like that.

She didn't feel like changing, needed some coffee, and slowly headed for the kitchen, dragging her feet as she walked.

"Hello sunshine, did you sleep well?" Logan mocked, smiling as he looked at her friends.

Ignoring him, she poured herself a cup of coffee, and sat down at the table, staring at her cup "I feel like shit, why did you all let me get like that?"

Darla giggled "You did it to yourself, you kept pounding shot after shot, until you couldn't stand anymore. Not our fault."

Logan found some Tylenol and handed them to her "Thanks." she says, taking them from his hand "I'm never doing that again."

He sat down, folded his hands and looked down. He knew she was hanging, and debated about asking where his things were. He twiddled his thumbs for a minute until Bodhi reached her hand over to his hands, stopping him "I know what's on your mind, and I'll get those for you in a bit. I just can't move very fast with my head pounding the way it is."

"I can wait. I do have some things on my mind, and was curious as to if I could use your phone?"

"Yea, I'm not sure where it is... it might be in the bedroom." she said laying her head down into her arms on top of the table.

Logan got up and walked over to her, he leaned down and kissed her cheek "We'll talk later, but thank you." He went in the bedroom, and looked for her phone, finding it on the ground near the bed, then sat down on the bed, and began making his phone calls.

******

"Mr. Cummings, Logan is on line two." she whispered loudly, after she opened the door, and saw him on the other line.

He looked up nodding his head, letting his secretary know he heard her, and continued with his conversation. "I'm going to have to call you back later, I have an important phone call to take."

He hung up the phone, looked at the phone, saw line two flashing red, and answered the call "Logan Meyer... I was wondering when you were going to call me back. Without a phone number, you know it's a little hard to contact you."

Grant, we need to talk... being you did what you did, I need a huge favor from you, one that I expect you to help me out on.

"Go on, I'm listening."

I need for you to tell me that you're going to do this favor for me. If you're not willing to do so, I'll hang up this phone right now, and will contact a lawyer, suing you for breach of contract. Logan said, sounding demanding.

"Logan, what I did with your band, was to keep the name alive. I didn't do it to hurt you. Like I told you last time I talked with you, it's only temporary. The singer knows you're coming back. Now, the tour just started, and I asked you last time we talked, for you to come back before the tour started. Now, if you come back now, you'll be back with the band touring like you were, and he'll be gone."

Are you going to help me or not? he asked, not caring a word about what he just said. He cared, but was more worried about what he needs Grant to do. If you help me out, the sooner I'll be able to come back to the band, and be where I belong to be.

Grant leaned back in his chair, and began using his feet to spin the chair around, while twirling a pen through his fingers, curious what is up his sleeve. "What do you need me to do?"

I need for you to take a trip to Minneapolis, visit with the police, and insist on not leaving until they drop the charges, as well as going to the hospital, and doing the same thing.

"Logan, I can't do that." Grant says, stopping his chair from spinning. He had to laugh, and was surprised he wanted him to do something that was out of his control.

Yes, you can, and you will... Explain to them that everything will be returned, all in one piece. If you have to, pay them off. Once I know that is done, I will fly to wherever the band is at the time, and continue with the tour.

"How do you plan on returning everything?"

I'll be needing your help with that, also. If you are able to drop the charges, I can meet you somewhere with the hospital's belongings, and give them to you for you to return.

"Logan? Who are you trying to protect? Whomever took you out of the hospital like that, was not thinking... if something went wrong, it would have been bad. You could have been killed."

Logan laughed "Like what the hospital was planning on doing to me, the next day after I was taken out of the hospital? The doctors had plans on terminating my life, they wanted my parents to sign my life away. My life was saved, the ones who saved my life believed in me, believed I would come out of that coma. And, here I am... I'm alive and well, and nearly almost back to my same self... Please Grant, I beg of you, help me out here.

Grant sighed, stood up and walked over to his window. He got quiet and stared out, looking out to the sky, and thinking about what he should do. "It would be nice to know where you are, and who you're with, because... if I'm going to do this, I'd like to pick you up after I visit the hospital, and police, put you on an airplane, and surprise your friends."

So, what you are saying, is that you're going to do this for me? Logan asked, sounding relieved, and happy. He knew if he talked with Grant, that he would come around, and help him out, even if he had to threaten him.

"I'll help you, but you're going to have to give me a phone number so I can contact you."

When I know it's done, and over with, I'll call and let you know where I am. Until then, I'm going to protect, who protected me.

Logan hung up with Grant, leaving Grant thinking about how to go about doing this. He sat at his desk, looking at the band's financials, and knew he was going to have to come up with some money. Without Logan telling him who kidnapped him, he knew this was going to be tricky. He began making some phone calls, and called another agent friend of his, wanting his advice.

For hours he sat in his office, figuring things out, ignoring phone calls, meetings, and canceled all his appointments for the next few days. He felt if it weren't for it being Logan, he would have told them that he wasn't going to do it. He did feel bad that he was in the accident that left him in a coma for months, and had to admit he didn't think he was going to make it.

He knew what he needed to do, and wasn't going to leave Minnesota until it was straightened out, and Logan was with him. He stood up, grabbed his jacket and headed out of his office. He walked over to his secretary, and instructed her to cancel all appointments until further notice, that he'll be out of town for an emergency.

"When will you be back?" she asked, giving him a worried look.

"When everything I need to take care of, is taken care of." he says, not wanting to give her the full details, he sighed "If Logan calls, let him know I'm out of town, taking care of business, and if he leaves a phone number to reach him, call me as soon as possible."

Grant went home, showered, packed his bags, then headed for the bank, withdrawing a large amount of cash before heading to the airport. He parked his car in the long-term parking lot at the airport and headed inside, purchasing a last-minute ticket to Minneapolis. He felt nervous for what he was about to do, and wasn't sure if they would do what Logan was asking of him to do. He just wished Logan would have given him more details on where he was, and how he could contact him.

After arriving in Minneapolis, he picked up his rental car and headed for the hotel, checked in, and sat in his room, going over his notes he worked on during his flight. Seeing what time it was, he locked all his important belongings into the safe, and decided to enjoy a few drinks down at the hotel bar.

******

Logan got done making his phone calls, and went into the other room to see how Bodhi was doing, and to see if her headache was going away. He felt good after talking with Grant, and hoped he would accomplish what he was asking him to do. He saw her laying on the couch with the back of her hand resting on her forehead, and snickered a little. "Still hanging?" he asked.

"It's getting better." she moaned.

He walked over to her, lifted her upper body, and sat down having her head lay on his lap. He looked over at Landon and smirked, giving him the sign that he had talked to someone about getting them off the hook.

Darla, Samantha, and Chloe finished packing their belongings and set them by the door to load into their cars. "Can you help us Landon?" Darla asked.

"Are you all leaving?" Bodhi asked, as she sat up.

"Yes, sorry... I'd stay longer, but I have to work tonight. We also figured we would all leave together to make sure we all got back home safe.

Bodhi slowly got up and walked over to the girls, giving them all hugs "Sorry I'm worth a shit today, but I want to thank you all for coming, and for a good time last night. It was well needed, I just wished I had been a little smarter with the alcohol." she giggled.

"It was fun." Darla says, giving her a tight hug. "If we think of anything that'll get ourselves out of trouble, I'll call you right away."

"Perfect, thank you." she smiled.

Logan and Landon helped carry the bags out to the cars, and talked about what was next, while the girls talked, and said their goodbyes. "I'll be in touch." Logan says, shaking Landon's hand.

Once everyone left, Bodhi walked back inside, grabbed herself a glass of water, and downed the entire glass. Remembering that she told Logan she would grab his notebook and guitar, she went to the room she had stashed it in, and grabbed it. With the notebook in her hand, curiosity of what was inside it ran through her mind, and looked behind her to see if Logan was around.

"Logan?" she called out. When he didn't respond, she opened the notebook, and quickly scanned through it before he could catch her. She stopped at the last page of his writings and was about to close it, when some words caught her eye, and looked to see what was written.

Her stomach dropped, and wondered who he was writing the song about. She closed the notebook, not wanting to read any more, and walked out of the room, set the guitar and notebook down on the kitchen counter, and decided to take a long hot shower.

While showering, the words You're beautiful, sexy, and oh so easy on the eyes, that I cannot handle being around you stuck in her mind. Every time we fight, I fight all urges of wanting to take you to bed, and show you how truly sorry I am. She let out a deep sigh, and turned her body and closed her eyes, letting the water run down her face. I apologize for everything I have done, for all I have said, and I'm sorry for hurting you all these years, that you're more a friend to me, than a lover... Oh God... she cried out, not knowing if it was just a song, or if he wrote it about someone he knew, and the one who came to mind, was Brooklyn.

She heard knocking at the bathroom door, and ignored it. "Bodhi?" Logan spoke loudly, while knocking harder "Are you alright? You've been showering for a while now." he asked. When she didn't respond he checked the door knob and checked to see if it was locked, when it opened, he opened the door, peeking his head inside "Bodhi? Can't you hear me?"

"I heard you." she said quietly "I'll be out in a bit; I just want to finish my shower." She didn't know why she was feeling hurt by a song he was writing, especially knowing that it was before he knew her. It was the words that he wrote, that hurt her the most.

He opened the shower curtain, causing her to jump "Damn girly, are you sure you don't want me to join you?" he asked, smiling ear to ear "All your friends are gone."

"No, please let me finish showering, I'm almost done."

He closed the curtain, and turned his head, furrowing his eyebrows when he sensed hostility in her voice. He left the bathroom and headed to the kitchen to grab her a glass of water and some more Tylenol, thinking her head was still pounding, and saw his things sitting on the counter.

Seeing the notebook on the counter, and the guitar that he wasn't expecting to see ever again made him smile. He skimmed through the notebook, making sure it was all there, and stopping at the last song he wrote, Shit he muttered.

"What are you shitting about?" she asked, watching him closing the notebook quick. She kept telling herself to not be upset about what she saw, and tried acting like she never read it. After all, it was written before they met, but it still hurt seeing that it was about using someone just for sex, and enjoying every minute of it, but in the end regretted what he did, and was sorry that he did that to her.

He pushed the notebook to the side, and shook his head "Nothing... just some things are better off not knowing." he said quietly, disappointed with himself.

Oh boy!! Hope you enjoyed the chapter!🤞🤞

What'll happen now? Let's going on here🤔🤔😁😁
