Eclipsed 21: Confessions

Blossom's POV

We ran through the tunnel, knowing if we stopped, we'd be swallowed. Riptide was in front, I was second, and Apollo brought up the end.

A rock fell on my shoulder forearm thing. Hard. I yelped as it was cut open in a slash. I stumbled and Apollo nudged me on. I was limping and my speed decreased. If I had been last, I'd have been buried alive.

My leg was throbbing. Every nerve in my body was telling me to stop, but I knew that'd cost my life. Then I heard Riptide yell. I looked up sharply and saw that Riptide had spotted light. The thought of sunshine made me speed up.

We finally reached the opening of the tunnel. Ember tackled me immediately. "Blossom!" Everyone else cried out with cheer. The moment was interrupted when my stomach let out a monstrous roar.

"Here, I got you a taco." Ember gave me a wrapped up one.

I unfolded the tissue paper and quickly shoved the entire taco in my mouth. The taco tasted wonderful, seeing the last food I'd eaten before capture was a Cookies n' Cream cup, and the berries weren't very efficient.

"Blossom? Could I speak to you for a moment?" Apollo asked.

"Sure." I limped over to the area he was gesturing to. "What is it?"

"Listen, if anyone asks you how you got back, just say you found your way out."

"Why? And how would anyone other than the queen know about my disappearance?"

He looked around and said quietly, "Today there was a Realm Meeting. Urgent." Then the Umbreon explained the events of the meeting, how we were going to war, that Nightmare is the mastermind of some recent events, the pokemon he had fighting for him, the Gardevoir and Gallade family scene, and the military boost. He also said how Galaxy mentioned me.

"So why do I have to keep the rescue a secret?"

"Well, after the meeting, I went to ask the queen to go on the mission to rescue you. She said no because she only recently found out and didn't have a plan. She also didn't want us to take on thousand of Bidoof." He paused. "How come there weren't any of those pests when we went down there? Is it because they already fled? That doesn't explain why there weren't any in our tunnel..."

"I fought them all."

Apollo stared at me, shocked. "How did you-"

"Psybeam. They were completely lost and didn't even know their names."

He looked away. "Right. Anyways, I decided that I-" Apollo turned away, his face red. "That Ember couldn't go any longer without you."

I blushed. "Um, by the way, I wanted to thank you. For saving my life for the second time."

"No problem." The Umbreon looked me in the eye.

I stared at him. I felt a weird feeling bubble up inside of me. I could tell Apollo was thinking along the same lines.

He leaned forward. So did I. Our faces were only inches apart and my eyes closed.

"Blossom!"

My head snapped around. A few seconds later, Ember came around the bush. "Are you two slowbros gonna finish up?"

Blitzen shortly followed. "Yeah, Blossom, tell us your adventure at the clubhouse."

Ember noticed my foreleg. "Dude, you wanna get that checked out."

I quickly glanced at Apollo, embarrassed. He wasn't looking at me.

"Come on!"

We made it to a Pokémon Center and a Blissey stitched up my leg. When we made it back to the clubhouse, I went in the girl's half with Ember to have some peace.

"So a Bayleef, Vanillish, and Persian walk into a bar..." Ember said.

"Ember, I need to tell you about me and Apollo." I said.

"...the Persian says to the Vanillish..." She continued, ignoring me.

"Look, it's really impor-"

"...then the Bayleef..." She went on.

"WE NEARLY KISSED!" I yelled at her.

She stopped and stared. It was the longest moment. Then her face broke in a smile.

"Ohmygoshwhatwasitlikedidyoustophimorsomethingbecauseithinkitsstupidbecausehesreallycuteandalsosavedyourlifemultipletimessoyouowehimbuthellunderstandifyoudontlikehimthoughand-"

"SHUT UP!" I thundered. "That's not what happened! We were about to kiss when you interrupted!"

She paused. "So do you love him?"

"I don't know! I've only known him for a few days and I do feel a bit jittery around him, but I'm not sure if I LOVE him!" I sighed. "I've been holding down all my feelings about this all. It's just been so hard to comprehend this all. Mom and Dad, a new home, and now we're going to war!" I teared up. "I don't know if I can handle it!" At this point I was sobbing.

Ember hugged me. "It's okay. I know it's been hard. It hasn't been easy for me either. I think those bidoofs sleep deprived you. Try to get some rest."
I nodded and plopped down on my hammock, still sniffling. Eventually I fell asleep, my dreams warm and comforting.
