Eclipsed 12: Park Time

Apollo's POV

"To the park!" I exclaimed and bounded away through the camp.

When I reached the park, only a few Eevees were playing, their watchful parents chatting on the sidelines.

I raced through the meadow, my ears flapping back in the wind.

I played with my friends for a while. We got ice cream, talking happily and enjoying it as the sun began to fall. Firework giggled joyfully at a joke Riptide had made before wiping up some of the strawberry ice cream off of her face. "Man, I'm tired."

Blitzen nodded, swallowing yet another bite of his banana split. "Yeah, I'm exhausted."

Geo ate his last bite of Mint Chocolate Chip. "It's been a lot of fun, but I'm ready to crash."

Ember licked up her last drops of deluxe spicy ice cream. "I'm all for some rest."

Riptide took a bite of chocolate. "What kind of flavor is Hot Sauce, anyway?"
She shrugged. "I don't know, maybe the same reason they have shrimp."

Ember looked up at Riptide. "Hey, how come you didn't choose that instead of chocolate?"

"Because shrimp isn't very... You know. Don't patronize me."

Riptide shoved the cone in his mouth and swallowed it whole. "Who's for going back?"

"Me!" Everyone said except for me, Blossom, and Snowdrop.

The Glaceon had a few bites left in her Peppermint. "I'm not done yet."

I licked up some escaping ice cream drops of my Rocky Road. "Yeah, I'm not tired."

Blossom looked up sadly, only halfway through her Cookies 'n Cream.
Blitzen nodded. "Alright, how about me and the rest go back to the camp while you three finish up."

"Sounds good." I took a small bite.
Snowdrop ate the last part of her cone. She took a second to decide whether to go back or stay and hang out with us. She finally chose that she was too tired and told Blitzen she was going with them.

The Jolteon started to head back. He turned and winked at me, knowing that I had a small crush on Blossom. I shoved the rest of my ice cream in my mouth to stop myself from blushing.
The sunlight reflected off the Espeon's forehead gem thingy, making it glow. I smiled slightly. We talked, enjoying the sunset. Then she screamed.

I whipped my head around. Blossom was being dragged into a hole in the ground by some weird-looking creature. It was brown and stubby. It had buck teeth and beady eyes.

"Blossom!" I leaped and tried to grab hold of one of her paws, but the creature was too strong. Then, it pulled out a knife and gave me the death glare. It pulled her down with it.

"Apollo!" She screamed. "Get the others!"

I bolted home, eyes wide.
