author's rambles !

I'm a newbie to poetry.

I've written several, non-related poems
for my books, "reminiscence",
"teenage love" & "teenage nightmare".
the one that actually got me
invested in writing poetry
was the latter, which
happens to be my upcoming
release, so I'll
really appreciate it if
I get constructive criticism
for this one.

that said,
I want my readers to
know that loss is
not always death.
It can be a loss of
friendship, a
relationship
or just a feeling
you loved before,
but no more.

I'm in one of those eras.

on a side note,
the photos used
to grace the aesthetics
of this do not belong
to me.
they're from the
Japanese animes,
kimi no na wa/your name
& pokémon (xyz).
the same goes
to the soundtracks.
they're used for
the sake of
providing a surreal
reading experience.

otherwise,
the layout and
the poems belong
to yours truly.
any plagiarism
will be reported.

as for the format,
you'll find quatrains
in this book.
a quatrain in poetry
is a series of four-lines
that make one
verse of a poem.
a quatrain
can be its own poem
or one section
within a larger poem.

I hope you enjoy these verses
as much as I did coming
up with them.
