OFFICER SUMIL FLIRK

It has been a busy two weeks for her and she is glad everything will soon come to a close. She discovered a lot of secret about the family she was observing that no one would believe if she told them.

It is a wonder that none of the resident of the town knows that the sheriff is an abusive father. She wanted to intervene on few occasions during her observation but that would have blown her cover.

Closing the file folder on her table, she fold her arm behind her head, closing her eyes in a relax posture. Though she hasn't confide in anyone, including agent Roman about her findings and the fact that she still continues with the case despite the fact that the police department has marked the case closed, she believes at this point, once she gets the final evidence, she will tender all her evidence to FBI agent Roman so he can assist with the arrest.

After her talk with Terrence, she has been gathering information, rearranging all the evidence. The only thing that she needs to do is to go to the lab and check if the result of the strand of hair found on the first crime scene.

None of them at the police station bothered to check or follow up on that evidence since their Lab technical told them it would be difficult to find the DNA match. Luckily for her she is in good term with the man.

Through out the two weeks she has been following her two main suspect, the sheriff and his son. During this observation period, she noticed a lot of things from both of them. And she is now certain that Lao Knight is the real killer.

Standing up from her chair, she picked up the file folder and open one of the numerous drawer attached to her table, she placed the file inside and closed the drawer. Tidying up her table, she put her phone in her pocket and leaves the station.

Walking out of the station, she contemplates how to break the news to Terrence, he would surely be heartbroken when he heard of Lao's arrest but Terrence could also tipped him off if she inform him beforehand. She would know what to do when the time comes, she thought.

The walk to the lab was short, but the walk cleared her mind. Entering the lab, she noticed the lanky man bent over a work table, with a big eye google and also some blood sample on the table, Sumil was weary of interrupting him because he has the reputation of having a bad temper if someone disturbs his work. Clearing her throat loudly to get his attention, she shuffled closer to him. Getting a better look at what he was working on.

"Good day to you," she said slowly so as not to startled him.

Looking up sharply, he exhales and smile widely, "Good afternoon officer Flirk, how are you?" He answered standing up from his former position.

"I am fine. I came to check on the strand of hair we get at the first crime scene...." she was interrupted before she can complete the sentence.

"Ooh, I was going to come to the station to make the report myself and bring along my findings, good thing you come by. You would be amazed at the DNA of the strand of hair, it was surprising even to me, i could not fathom why the DNA of such person would be at that crime scene," he said, muttering to himself at the end.

"Whose DNA are you talking about? Who is the owner of the strand of hair?"

"Lao Knight is the owner of the strand of hair found at the crime scene." He answered, grinning from ear to ear.

Collecting the DNA result from the man, officer Flirk wasn't surprise at the the findings, she already knows the DNA will turned out to be Lao Knights, she mused quietly to herself.

"You won't also believe that, on Mr. Larkson's body there are also traces of  Lao's blood, though its tiny and I almost overlooked it. But near the hear that was cut off, there was some traces of his blood." The man finished explaining, seemly exited at his own discovery.

That was a new information for her but still she wasn't surprised, she already gathered all her information well. Now its times to make an arrest, no point in wasting time.

Thanking the man, she left the lab. Firstly she has to go back to the station and inform agent Roman about her discovery. Showing him the DNA result and the extra finding from the lab will go a long way in convincing him of the truth, she thought wryly.

Bringing out her phone from the pocket, she dialed FBI agent Roman's number. Its better to give him heads up before she get to the station.

THE JAMES HOME
TERRENCE JAMES

It has been two weeks since he meet up with Officer Sumil Flirk, two weeks since the death of his brother, two weeks since he have to be patient for any news from officer Flirk, two weeks since his family has been torn apart.

Terrence's mother doesn't leave her bedroom at all since the incident, and his father only come downstairs to pick up something to eat and as soon as he finished food he would go back upstairs. Talia hasn't talk since they discovered Togan's body. Tibby is the only one holding up, she cooks, clean and wash the dirty clothes.

Terrence believe they've all been mourning in their own different way, but he cant help but notice the rift that has formed in his family. No one knows who to turn to for consolation, normally his mom would be the one to take charge, but there doesn't seem to be hope that she would recover from this incident.

Through out this period, Terrence has take up the hobby of writing his thoughts down in a diary, after each thoughts has been put down he feels calm afterwards. Lao also served as his anchor, as he called Terrence everyday for the past two weeks.

Terrence felt different today, probably because he would be meeting up with Lao in the afternoon, go out and leaving his house for some hours would served him well in clearing some of his moods and it will also clear him up, atleast that was Lao's word to him when he invited Terrence.

Leaving his house earlier no one would noticed his absence at home, except for Tibby, if she wants to wash his clothes, he planned to take a long walk to the children's park, the only park in their town. Its where he would be meeting up with Lao. Though he would have liked it if Lao comes to pick him up, but the strangeness of Lao's behavior towards him during these past weeks makes him weary.

Terrence could remember vividly how after each calls with Lao, Lao would tell him how much he loves Terrence and then he would go on to say how he can kill for Terrence if anyone try to take Terrence away from him.

Terrence founds such behavior strange and couldn't fathom the meaning of it, but he planned to correct Lao of such thoughts when they meet. Their friendship shouldn't turn to obsession for Lao, sometimes soon they both have to move on in life and separate. Though after separation they may still see each but their contact won't be like when they are still in their teen.

Several people met him on his walk, some looked at him strangely while others greet him. He was glad when he finally get to the park. Stopping suddenly, he looked around the park, its desolate and deserted. Walking closer into the park, he noticed a lone figure standing still at one of the wrecked swing.

"Lao," Terrence called out to him. " I don't know you would get here earlier, I can't even believe you got here before me." he said after Lao turn towards him.

"I called you, you didn't answer your phone," Lao said, looking sadly at him.

"The phone was in my pocket, I wasn't aware that it was ringing," Terrence replied, sitting down on the only available swing.

"I wanted to come and picked you at home, that's why I called and when you didn't answered I was worried," Lao said.

"Sorry about that, I decided to take a walk to cleared my mind," Terrence replied. "No wonder you arrived her before me, you drove," he said.

"Yes," Lao replied.

"Where did you parked the car? I didn't see it outside the park," Terrence commented.

"Its there, you probably didn't notice because I parked it behind the roller coaster wheel," Lao replied.

"Ok. So what's up, what should we talk about?" Terrence asked, to fill the silence.

"I have something i have been meaning to tell you, for a long time," Lao said flexing his palms nervously.

"What is it? Infact, I have been thinking I will ask you whats going on with you recently, Togan's death and all the deaths happening in town are some of the reason i haven't asked you." Terrence said.

"A lot has been going on with me, and most of it has to do with you." Lao replied.

"With me?" Terrence asked.

"Yea." He replied.

"I don't understand, please enlighten me," Terrence said in confusion.

"Do you know how long I have been in love with you?" Lao asked, suddenly changing the topic.

"What?! That's a weird question. What do you mean been in love with me?" Terrence asked, still confused with Lao's word.

"It all started at this park 10 years ago," Lao said, talking to himself.

"Yeah, I remember. We were seven years old then," Terrence said.

"That's the day I fell in love with you. I have tried everything to show you how much I love you, I have done everything I can to let you know I am the right one for you but you didn't even noticed, its as if I didn't exist to you....." Lao was interrupted with the blaring of the police car siren.

"Lao Knight, you are under arrest for the murder of Togan James, John Joseph and the others. Raise your hand where we can see it," FBI agent Roman said, as he was walking toward them holding a handcuff and his gun in the other hand.

Turning to Terrence and ignoring the police, "Do you know know what it takes to love you?" Lao asked.
