👀 Is it the truth?

Mystery magnifies danger, as a fog the sun, the hand that warned Belshazzar derived its horrifying effect from the want of a body.

TERRANCE JAMES

Terrace was getting anxious and fidgeting with his legs spamming as if he was having a muscle pull, though he knew it was his brain and body which was having a serious conversation, if the police car hadn't arrived at that particular time he was certain his brain and body would have reached a definite conclusion, which was to flee the crime scene.

He wasn't surprised when three police vehicle and one paramedic's bus drives into the school, coming straight towards the school field, the fourth car was not making any of those funny noise police car make with their siren, it was a mortuary bus, to take away Mr. Larkson's body.

The opening of the car doors and rushing feet, getting down from the vehicles, distract him a moment from watching the two masked people packing Mr. Larkson's body, putting it in a body bag, it was difficult for them to pack the head, which includes the splattered brain.

Terrance was grateful for the distraction of the police at that moment, it is becoming very hard for him to watch as they packed the body of a man who was agile, healthy, he was always working in his field, a man he would have trusted with his life. Death was never a beautiful thing.

Two of the police men starts tapping all the surrounding, they taped around him and he watched them numbly, including where he was sitting, on the bleacher. They must have measured everything making sure to include where the body was found, it was taped thoroughly to where he was sitting, the tape formed a circle.

Terrance noticed the sheriff was standing far apart staring at him as if he has grown a separate head, Terrance laughed silently at his own strange thoughts. He watched as the sheriff was giving others occasionally to the police working the murder site but anyone who look closely would realized the sheriff was avoiding coming near Terrance.

Terrance was still deliberating if the sheriff fear him now or he just wasn't comfortable approaching him in the presence of others, he hasn't reached a decisive conclusion when the black police woman enters the tapped circle walking briskly towards him, she stands by for a moment, before deciding to sits besides him.

"Hello there, am officer Flirk, but you can call me Sumil, that is, when we are together, don't call me that in the presence of others, they may think it means another thing. How are you holding up?" The black police woman said, smiling widely but still looking at the officers taking records of the crime scene.

"Hello. I would introduce myself but you already know who I am, why so you want me to call you by name, besides why do you want to be friends with me? And you asked such a dumb question how do you expect me to feel? Asking that question sounds stupid to me." Terrance asked, bothered with the overly friendly attitude of the police woman.

"I know who you are and am sorry for what you are going through. But I want you to know that I understand what you are going through, when I first came to this town, the towns  people looked at me like a flee, something that can endangered them. It took me years before I was able to earn their respect." She answered, sympathy evident in her voice.

"How does that related to what am going through? I am a killer, a murderer, tell me how that relates to your story." Terrance answered, getting angry with the police woman's assumption.

"Maybe it does not relate, but I can tell you what you are feeling now, not because am a police but because I have went through some of those feelings sometimes ago, though in different circumstances than yours." She answered calmly, too calmly that Terrance gets curious.

"Tell me what am feeling now." Terrance stated.

"I know you are feeling confused, not been able to decide what is real, what is truth and what is your own illusions." She said, turning to look.at Terrance.

"That is not difficult to guess, since its probably evident with my expression." Terrence said dismissively.

" I know you don't accept you could have killed Mr. Larkson, a man you respected when he was alive, a man you trusted. I can tell you are afraid, afraid because deep down you know you are not the killer, but because you don't have any evidence to proved your doubt you accept that you killed this man." The woman said again.

Terrance nodded and accepted reluctantly that the woman means good and only wants to befriend him or probably helped him, he turn finally since the women sat besides him, he look at her face.

"How can you know all these things without me telling you?" Terrance asked curiously.

"I told you earlier, in a different circumstances than yours, I have felt those feelings before." She answered.

"Can you help me? Please help me, am loosing my ming from all the thoughts running wildly in my mind." Terrance said quietly, with respect.

"I will help you anyway I can, but just hang there, say the truth and am sure we will catch the killer soon." She answered quietly and stand ups.

One of the police men walks towards them, with handcuff in his hand, he asked Terrance to stretch fort his hand handcuffing him. The police man holds Terrance by his elbow and walks towards the last police vehicle.

The drive to the police station was fast and uneventful but the continuous blaring of the siren was like a loud alert for the towns people, at least the few town people who were near when the police car was passing by.

Since its quite uncommon to see three police car driving by at the same time, it raised their curiosity. Terrance is certain before night, the news of his arrest and death of Mr. Larkson would have spread like a wild fire.

The first thing the police did as soon as they get to the station was to collect his phone. According to the sheriff, it was to collect some data and call record from his phone. Sumil was the only police who was friendly with him.

The questioning wasn't long and it wasn't done by the sheriff, Terrence was certain then that the sheriff was either avoiding or that he didn't want to get compromised.

They are going to keep in at the police station for the next twenty four hours, his family were put on house arrest and the FBI are on their way to crow hills town, Terrance was able to gathered all this information from Sumil, who was kind enough to brought him some snacks to munch on.

CROW HILLS TOWN
THURSDAY
POLICE STATION
TERRENCE JAMES

He has been sitting in one place since his arrest, late into the night, occasionally adjusting himself but it has not been comfortable. Though he is still a minor and he may not go to jail but his case has sent the police on a frenzy mood.

Even without standing up, the noise from outside drifts to him in the questioning room, he is not surprised though that some of the noise are from the reporters, news reporter are like that, they can't let go a hot news.

Especially a news that involves a murder, adding the fact that the FBI has been called in on his case and his parent has been put on temporary house arrest until further notice, though he didn't understand why the police do that.

However, as at last night, even without a judge he has been accused of been murderer. The police just need to gather more evidence, probably from Mr. Larkson's body added with Terrance words to convict him.

At this time with no phone or connection with the outside world, his mind kept going round and round finding out what triggered him to become a murderer.

Why didn't Lao comes back to take him home, could he have been delayed. Or was Lao there when he was lynching Mr. Larkson. All this information was too much for his mind to process yet he couldn't stopped himself from asking questions.

And why was he always blacking out when the act was been carried out. Or could it be that he was sleep killing, is there even a treatment for that.

He mind was like a deep wells, with different thoughts running about and seeking dominance over each other.

Is it the truth? Are his thoughts correct?

Is it the truth? That he didn't kill all those innocent people.

Is it the truth? That his hypersensitivity has finally pushed him over the edge.

There is no one to give him answers.

And his only friend in the police force, the only person who trusts him may be murdered it if Terrance doesn't find out the truth soon.

And where was the missing parts of Mr. Larkson's ear?
