The possession of knowledge does not kill the sense of wonder and mystery. There is always more mystery.

As we acquire more knowledge, things do not become more comprehensible, but more mysterious.

CROW HILLS TOWN
SUMIL FLIRK'S HOME
TUESDAY MORNING
SUMIL FLIRK
Sitting down in a kitchen, watching the bird outside, she envy their freedom, nothing to worry about except to fly away. Sumil doesn't need to on her television to know the news that would be trending now. They discovered the body late last night.
When agent Roman came back inside the bar and inform her that he received a strange call, albeit its a tip of about the whereabout of the James boy, she was skeptical. She could have sworn at that time that, they won't find any body on Mr. Lane's property.
She was surprised and bewildered when they discovered not only Togan's body, but also some other incriminating materials in his home. She was reluctant to enter Mr. Lane's house in his absence but agent Roman had a different opinion and it was through his search that they discovered other materials in Mr. Lane's house.
Even though with all these evidence, her mind couldn't help but still thinks Mr. Lane was innocent. Nothing adds up no matter what angle she looks at it. No criminal would go willingly to the police station no matter how deranged he was. The fact that Mr. Lane didn't fight about his arrest is a mystery on its own.
Picking up the plates and cup she used to eat, she placed them in the zinc. She goes back to her formal position in the kitchen and holds her hands up and if seeking for a divine intervention.
There is this nagging feeling at the back of her mind, that keeps telling her they haven't apprehend the real killer, that the real killer is someone they couldn't suspect. Walking slowly towards her sitting room, she dreads turning on her television but she needs a distraction from her thoughts.
Turning on her television, she wasn't surprise to see the news of Togan James murder airing on the news, she picks up the remote and change the channel, almost all the station seems to be showing the news of the dead boy, she signed audibly.
Changing the channel again, she decides to watch the 'Health benefits and medical advice' program instead. Adjusting herself to sit comfortably, she increase the volume.
......So we have to be careful of how we take this drugs, many people are not aware of this but it is dangerous, taking overdose of these drugs can caused short time memory loss or blacked out.
(Benzodiazepines)
Why they are prescribed: Benzodiazepines are used to treat a
variety of anxiety disorders, agitation, delirium and muscle spasms, and to prevent seizures. Because Benzodiazepines have a sedative effect, they are sometimes used to treat insomnia and the anxiety that can accompany depression.
Drugs That May Cause Memory Loss
Antianxiety drugs
Cholesterol drugs
Antiseizure drugs
Antidepressant drugs
Narcotic painkillers
Parkinson's drugs
Hypertension drugs
Sleeping aids
Incontinence drugs
Antihistamines
How they can cause memory loss: Benzodiazepines dampen activity in key parts of the brain, including those involved in the transfer of events from short-term to long-term memory.
Indeed, benzodiazepines are used in anesthesia for this very reason. When they're added to the anesthesiologist's cocktail of meds, patients rarely remember any unpleasantness from a
procedure. Midazolam (Versed) has particularly marked amnesic properties.
..........
Listening to the name of the drug seems to wake something up in her mind, she remembers that the sheriff takes Sleeping aids for his sleeping disorder. She also remembers Terrence said he doesn't remember what happened on the two occasions he was at the murder scene.
She starts looking for her phone she needs to call Terrence and confirm some things from him, looking wildly about she couldn't locate her phone, walking towards her kitchen to check there, she saw it on the kitchen table.
Picking up her phone from the table, she walked slowly towards her sitting room. Sitting down numbly on the couch, she dialed Terrence number.
"Hello," she said as soon as he answer call.
"Hell," Terrence replied, his voice hoarse, from crying.
"Am sorry for your loss," Sumil said quietly.
"Thank you," he answered.
"I apologize for this, but the real reason i called you was to asked you some questions and also to verify some things," Sumil said, cringing at her own intrusion on his mourning.
"What questions again, haven't we suffered enough in our family, what more could the police want from us?" Terrence asked quietly.
"Am truly sorry Terrence, but this isn't from the police, it is from me personally, I just need to be certain we've catch the real killer," Sumil said, scratching her head, she feels hopeless.
"Jesus Christ!" He exclaimed, "Are you telling me Mr. Lane is not the real killer? That the real killer is out there?" He asked, fear evident in his voice.
"Yes, i believe Mr. Lane is not the real killer, but this is just my own speculation and how I view the whole case, the police department will be closing the case this week. I need your help to catch the real killer," she said.
"What can I do to help you?" Terrence asked.
"I am going to ask you some questions and I want you to answer me honestly and as best as you remember it," she said gently.
"Ok," he answer.
"On those two occasions that you were at the crime scene, did you meet up with the sheriff earlier on?" She asked.
"No. And that's a weird question, why would I meet up with the sheriff?" He asked.
"Sorry for that, I am just clearing some things. Lets meet up this afternoon, we can talk then," she said, "And please don't let anyone know you are meeting me," she adds.
"Ok, what time and where?" Terrence asked.
"2 pm, I will come and pick you up, so wait for me at the butcher's shop," she said.
"Ok," Terrence said. He just want it to end, the fear that if they don't catch the killer soon, he may kill again is the reason he agrees to meet with the officer.
Sumil ends the call and slump down on her couch, the most dominating thoughts in her mind is that nothing makes sense.
CROW HILLS TOWN
OUTSIDE BUTCHER'S SHOP
TUESDAY
2:03 PM
TERRENCE JAMES
Waiting patiently outside the butcher's shop, Terrence checked his wrist watch again. Even though he dressed in such a way that people would not be able to recognize him unless they move closer to him, he still doesn't feel calm or confident standing still outside the shop.
He was contemplating leaving and going back home when he saw the car of officer Sumil driving towards him, she parks besides him and opened the door.
"Where are we going?" Terrence asked her as he entered the car.
"The edge of the town, no one would notice or see us there," she replied.
The drive was short and filled with silence, though Terrence enjoyed the silence it calmed his jittery nerve. Officer Sumil parked the car and off the ignition.
"Sorry for your loss again and also i apologize for my paranoia attitude," she said, turning towards him.
"Its OK, I appreciate that you are trying your best to help me and to also solved this case, so you don't need to apologize," Terrence replied.
"So like I asked you when i called you this morning if you meet with the sheriff, can you remember anything that is constant, or something that happened on those two occasion you were at the crime scene?" She asked
"The only constant thing I can think of or even remember is Lao." He answered.
"Lao? The sheriff's son?" She asked.
"Yes Lao Knight, my best friend. We went to the party together, he was the one that gave me the drink I took that night, he was aware that I was meeting with JoJo." He explained.
"What about the day of Mr. Larkson's murder?" She asked.
"He was with me in the room when Mr. Larkson sent me the message and I told him about it. He drove me to the school, though he was supposed to come and take me back home but he never show up," he answered.
"I believe things are starting to make sense to me now..." She trailed off.
"Ooh also, Lao gave me a herbal tea that day, when we were driving towards the school he gave me a tea," Terrence said.
"I know who our killer is, I can't believe I didn't think of it," she said talking quietly to herself.
"Who is the killer?" Terrence asked eagerly.
"Sorry I can't tell you. I have to verify and be certain and also for your own safety," she answered, placing her hand on his shoulder.
"Its ok, I appreciate all you are doing," he said, looking out from the window.
"Is there anything else you remember?" She asked.
Placing his hand on his head, he hmmm to himself, "ooh, yes. Also when Marvel and Diesly message me to meet up with them, I called Lao and told him," he said.
"You sure share a lot of information with Lao," she comments.
"Who else am I supposed to talk to? He is my best friend and i belief he would do anything for me," Terrence said defensively.
"Don't get me wrong, am just wondering why you couldn't share such information with me atleast," she said.
"You are a police and at the time I didn't know this would be of any importance," he replied.
"I understand, even I couldn't foresee the importance of this question I just asked you, we were looking at the case from different angle then." she replied, trying to placate him.
"So will you go and arrest the real killer now?" He asked.
"No, I have to monitor him, his whereabouts and gather every other evidence I can get before I can arrest him," she replied thoughtfully.
"How long will that take?" He asked.
"Probably one or two weeks," she replied.
"That is a long time, considering the time the police have spent on the case already, but I will wait patiently until u catch him and hopefully he won't kill again," Terrence said.
"Thank you for your faith and trust in me, I won't let you down," she said.
"No problem. We should start heading back now, Tibby would be worried if i don't get home soon," Terrence said.
Terrence watched her as she starts the car and make a U-turn, heading back towards the town. He couldn't help but think about it, who is now the real killer? He is at a cross road, all the questions officer Sumil asked didn't point to any person in particular except Lao, and he didn't think Lao is the killer, or could Lao be the real killer?
