Q: What's with Tsu'na's "Husband" this and "Husband" that? Is that a submissive thing?

Tsu'na: He is my husband. Why should I not call him that?

Steve: You think she's submissive? Hah! Try possessive. That started happening a little after the wedding. She grabs me, she's got this big grin on her face, and she's like, 'Husband!' I'm like, 'Yes, my love?' 'Husband!' 'Yeah...?' 'Husband!' 'What?' 'You are my husband! Mine and no other's!'

And since I'd, like, just gotten done promising exactly that in the wedding, I was like, '...Okay.'

Q: Are you ever going to include sex scenes?

Tsu'na: Our moments together belong to us, and my husband belongs to me. I do not want to share.

Steve: Time I spend writing about sex I've had is time I could spend having more sex. Priorities.

Q: "Tsu'na" isn't a proper miqo'te name. It should be <one-letter tribe name>'<personal name> <family name>.

Tsu'na: I never knew my miqo'te parents. I was taken in by a hyur couple when I was very young. They were very kind, and I loved them dearly, but they did not know much of miqo'te ways. My name is their attempt to give me a miqo'te name. Other miqo'te do not like my name, but I do not like their fish jokes and use of "meow" in everything they say. I will honor my parents by keeping the name.

Steve: Yeah, I didn't research miqo'te naming conventions before going into chargen, so after looping through their random suggestions I made something up. I could have changed it to, say, "T'Suna" and made her part of the T tribe, but that would have cost money.

Q: Why do the two characters have different ideas of history?

Tsu'na: I do not understand. We come from different worlds. Why would we not have different histories?

Steve: This depends on how we think the Eorzea universe came to be. If the entire universe was created spontaneously, it's reasonable that it was created with a complete chain of causality for every rock, twig and lalafel there. "If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe."

Or, if we go with the multiverse idea I told Tsu'na (which, honestly, I pulled out of my ass, but it's nevertheless compelling), then her universe, complete with its history and hers, is the one out of all the infinite universes that matched my game-client-driven selection criteria.

Or it's possible that her universe just happened to exist, and just happened to resemble Square Enix's game, and by sheer coincidence had a woman who matched my chargen preferences.

Not putting a lot of stock in that one.

Q: Tsu'na keeps saying "in Earth." It should be "on Earth."

Tsu'na: Thank you for telling me this. It is a habit I got from Husband saying "in Eorzea" to talk about things that happened where we come from. Eorzea is the name of an alliance of nations. The name of the planet is Hydaelyn. If he is comparing to things that happen "on Earth", he should be saying "on Hydaelyn". But I indulge his word use, even though it colors my own.

Steve: Everything my wife does is wonderful and perfect and I wouldn't change a thing.

Q: Why do you keep using FF14 terms without explaining them? Are you ever going to add a glossary?

Tsu'na: I must google Earth words every day. Can you not google Eorzea words?

Steve: Glossary. Sure, I can do that. Maybe reproduce one of the three or four FF14 wikis already out there. You want a photo gallery too?

Q: The way you talk about "aetheric manipulation" isn't how aether works, according to {fan/gamer website}.

Tsu'na: Husband uses the term "aetheric manipulation" to describe the gathering and crafting techniques we use. Neither of us are aetheric scholars. Do you have a site that talks about aetheric studies in Earth? We could use that to reconcile our terms. The site you mentioned appears to talk about aetheric studies in Eorzea.

Steve: You do know I'm making this up as I go, right? All I know is that I can mine iron ore with an Eorzean pickaxe without making a hole, and I can turn that ore into an ingot with an Eorzean blacksmith hammer without using a forge. If calling that "aetheric manipulation" makes it easier to talk about with my wife, then that's what I'm going to call it.

Q: Are the characters ever going to go back to Eorzea?

Tsu'na: I have all of Earth to see, which I understand is very big, and I have not yet left Oklahoma. Yes, there are things about Eorzea that I miss, but if this world is now my home, I can think about knowing it first.

Steve: Dimension-hopping? We haven't even found an aetheryte yet. Hell, we haven't even built a winnebago. Baby steps.

Q: He talks about things he did, but he didn't do them. That was "Original Him", right?

Tsu'na: If you upset my husband, I will hurt you.

Steve: Thanks for reminding me. I should never be allowed to forget that I'm a copy and my memories aren't my own. It's my responsibility to think each and every day about how I'm less than a year old, that I myself haven't done anything, that I don't have any identity, that I shouldn't even exist, and that I need to make up lies to tell practically everyone I talk to to cover up that fact. So thank you so much for rubbing my face in it.
