Valerie
When I heard Tim's battered voice while I was wearing my bra and frock, I immediately went downstairs to see what the matter was, as he was supposed to be with my mom and dad. When he told me about the whole scenario and Raven decided for us to go to Blackthorns, I had no choice but to talk to Krystal and Ellis. I thought she was going to blame me for what happened to mom and dad, but instead she hugged me and consoled me. "We'll get them back; there's no need to worry about it."
When I hugged her, I felt something change so I asked her. "Are you alright?"
Krystal nodded. "Yeah, I am perfectly fine. I have been dying to ask you, Is Raven your fated-mate?"
I shook my head and smiled. "It's complicated, Krys; I am still trying to figure out this matter."
Krystal kept her arms around my shoulders. "I could feel the chemistry between you two too; it's hard to deny. Also, since you came all the way here for him, I don't see any room left for complications between you two."
Ellis entered the house, calling Krystal's name. "Do you know..."
He kept quiet when his eyes landed on me. "What are you doing here?"
Krystal widened her eyes. "She is my sister and she has all rights to visit me."
Ellis crosses his arms against his chest. "If you are here to insult us over the news of our pup so..."
I didn't even let him complete. I looked at Krystal. "What? I am going to be an auntie, Valerie."
Krsytal rubbed her hand over her belly. "Yes."
I covered my mouth, hugged my sister again and then congratulated Ellis. He asked. "If you hadn't known about this, then why were you here?"
Krystal got up and started getting her things together. She told Ellis everything. When she was done, Ellis told her to stay home until we all got there, but she wouldn't wait and begged us to take her with us. I positioned her with Ellis and Raven; these were the only people with whom I could put my pregnant sister's safety in their hands.
It felt like every single member of the Blackthorn Pack wanted us to march against them. I was expecting violence, but none of their men had attacked us. When Beta Alex was looking around, I initially believed we had lost the game because Alex would never do anything against his alpha. However, when he revealed my parents to the rest of the community, I realized we still had a chance. Anger surged within me, yet I controlled myself and refrained from reacting when I saw my parents in chains.
Raven truly had the skills to be a leader, as he turned the whole crowd against Derek without having evidence. I was still restless because the evidence we claimed to have, in reality, we didn't have. We didn't have any information about Gavin and Ari's children. It was just a hunch that they were alive.
Derek's agitation has confirmed there could be a chance they are alive. No one knows their location. Kids should have known about their parents; this was their birthright. I was still worried about how Raven would prove his innocence but when Derek fell on the ground and screamed like a loser about the twins, I heard my parents gasp.
A rush of unknown feelings coursed through my body and I stepped back and held Krystal's hand. When I looked at Krystal, she was going through the same thing. I was praying to the moon goddess. Please, whatever I am sensing, don't make it true. I already have enough sorrows to deal with; now I am not capable of absorbing this bomb.
My dad raised his voice. "I know where Gavin and Aria's twins are, and this would prove Raven had not killed them and it was Derek who had orchestrated this web of lies to gain his position in a pack."
My mom smiled. "The twin kids of Gavin and Aria are Valerie and Krystal. We embraced them years ago. We found them crying in the bushes on our land, right after hearing the rumor that Raven killed his Beta and Beta's family."
I didn't know if I should be happy that we finally found out who our real parents were, but they were brutally killed. So, should I be sad or angry to learn about the person who killed them?
Raven looked at me. "Derek is your culprit more than mine so whatever you and Krystal choose will be his fate."
I was not in the right state of mind to take any decisions, so I looked at Krystal in a way to give her authority to take decisions for both of us. She released my hand. and walked over to Derek, who was trying to stand up after fighting with Raven.
Krystal told him with tears in her eyes. "You deserve to live longer and witness the Blackthorn Pack being led by the same person you trapped years ago by killing two innocent people."
Beta Alex and every member of the Blackthorn pack bend on their knees and start chanting "Alpha Raven, Alpha Raven."
Raven raised his hand to his pack. "Alpha Sameul and Luna Freya should be freed and now on there will be no more rivalry with the Midnight Pack as we should learn from our past mistakes."
Raven was looking the other way; he was talking to Beta Alex. Derek ran to stab him in the back. Krystal was standing close to Raven so she moved forward to save him and stopped Derek's attack. Ellis and I also ran towards her but it was too late as Derek stabbed Krystal and she fell to the ground.
Raven turned around as I was screaming but Ellis held Derek's hand and twisted it back; his dagger fell to the ground. I lost control of my wrath. I picked up that dagger and stabbed him right into his heart. When Derek fell to the ground, Ellis and I rushed to Krystal. Ellis checked and she was alive as Derek stabbed her on the shoulder.
We rushed to the hospital, where everyone was waiting outside for the doctor. I didn't talk to Raven at all; in fact, I avoided him. I had no idea what to do with my real identity. The moon goddess is still playing with my emotions. When the doctor told us that Krystal was out of danger, she and her pups were fine. I sighed in relief and then one strong arm pushed me into a dark room. I was unable to scream as my mouth was covered but I stopped resisting because I knew who he was.
Raven asked. "Why the hell are you avoiding me?"
I shook my head. "I am not."
Raven asked. "What is going on with you, Val?"
I looked at him with tears in my eyes. "I am the daughter of the woman you have loved your entire life, and it's killing me because I can't stop loving you. I know you rejected me as your fated mate, and now that you know about my birth parents, you undoubtedly hate me."
Raven tipped his head. "Hate you? What are you talking about?"
I raised my hands, like surrendering myself. "I don't know when Rosalie's spell will work and my love for you will fade away."
Raven laughed. I looked at him, and either it was an angry laugh or a sarcastic laugh so I squinted.
He sighed. "Rosalie never pulled out our bond; she only pulled out the pain or misery you were going through." he grabbed my arms. "And no matter whose daughter you are, I, Raven, the alpha of the Blackthorn, accept you, Valerie, as my Luna."
I corrected him. "Valerie of the Midnight Pack."
Raven and I chuckled, and then we kissed each other.
