Chapter One
"This is not a moment, it's a movement."

A gentle breeze blew through the tunnels, greeting Dimstar as he emerged from his den. The russet tom gaped his jaws in a small yawn and scanned his gaze over camp.
Life was prospering lately in the rebellion, and it soothed Dimstar to know so. Peonyflight was finally going to accept Lilypaw as the medicine cat apprentice, and with two cats more healing was going to get done. Splashsky, Larkthorn, Ashwhisper, and Mistysong were now warriors and tended to their new duties well.
Some events were questionable though. Sparrowblaze, an old friend of Dimstar's but now a member of Archangel's Clan, had showed up constantly and convinced Angelkit to run away from the rebellion. Ashwhisper had brought Jayclaw, a loyalist to Archangel, to join the rebellion. He was strong and insisted to fight for the rebellion, but Dimstar doubted his true loyalty. Sunshadow had also disappeared during a wolf attack in the territory, and many thought he would never return.
So many great things had occurred as well though. Swanheart had given birth to four healthy kits. Quailpaw, Dimstar's son, was finally adapting to life in the rebellion and was in love with Splashsky. Once Quailpaw was a warrior in about a moon, Dimstar knew the two would be mates immediately.
A memory then flooded back into Dimstar's mind. He promised to Peonyflight and Minktalon, the former medicine cat, that he would soon enough discuss a battle strategy with the two. His whiskers twitched as he took a step forward and scanned his gaze over camp.
His gaze then locked onto the brown and white she-cat who approached him. It was Cloverpool, his loving mate and deputy. Most doubted her as deputy and thought he only selected her because she was his mate, but it had nothing to do with that at all. She was wise and balanced Dimstar's personality, providing a balanced and well-established leadership under the two.
"Good morning, Dimstar," Cloverpool greeted with a purr, nuzzling the russet toms cheek.
Dimstar's mouth corners curled into a vivid smile as he pressed his muzzle to her ear. "Good morning to you as well, Cloverpool."
The tom's thoughts then flashed back to the promise with Minktalon and Peonyflight. Cloverpool would attend the meeting as well, so why not send her to fetch the two and hold the meeting now?
"Excuse me for asking this so early, but do you mind fetching Peonyflight and Minktalon and bringing them back to my den? We all have something important to discuss and I want to get it done while I can," Dimstar informed Cloverpool with a twitch of an ear.
Cloverpool nodded and turned. Without another word, the deputy bounded off in the direction of the medicine cat den. Dimstar stared after her for a moment before whirling around to face his den yet again.
A soft exhale slid off his tongue as he stepped into the den. The den was dark and empty besides for his nest that lay in the back, lined with soft feathers. Sleeping alone was something the new leader had adjusted to, but it was still so strange to him. Some nights Cloverpool would sleep with him, but most nights he would sleep alone.
The leader took a few more paw steps forward before stopping near the back of the den. He turned and sat down, curling his tail around his paws. He was about to shut his eyes and having a thought session to himself before the meeting began, but he was interrupted when a tall form stepped into his den.
The she-cat soft gaze met his when he glanced up at her. Her fur was sleek and groomed neatly, her tail lashing behind her. The medicine cat smelled of herbs, and the leaders muzzle twitched at the overwhelming stench. It didn't bother him though, and he smiled to welcome the medicine cat to sit down before him.
"Thank you for attending Peonyflight," Dimstar greeted with a dip of his head as the medicine cat sat down before him.
Peonyflight parted her jaws to reply but snapped them shut when Minktalon and Cloverpool stepped into the den. Dimstar greeted both with a small smile as they sat beside Peonyflight, their ears perked.
"Good morning, Dimstar," Minktalon spoke him, raising a cat brow at the leader. "Cloverpool told us you had something very important to discuss with all of us?"
Dimstar nodded to the she-cat before scanning his gaze over all three she-cats. "Once, Peonyflight and Minktalon requested that I need to do something. We all need to take action against Archangel and his followers before they reach their chance to attack first. If we have this opportunity to attack first and sieze it, that will grant us power over Archangel if our plan is successful and we take the first blow. I decided that Peonyflight and Minktalon were right, so today we will discuss our battle plans for the future attack."
Peonyflight nodded, a smile emerging onto her visage. "I am glad you acknowledged what we suggested," She purred, glancing out of the corner of her eyes at Minktalon.
"Well, all I can really say is the last battle strategy we used in the war we lost didn't work out well. Dividing the Clan into the small groups gave then less power and many didn't work together. For this plan, we need to have our cats together. Together we are stronger," Minktalon spoke up, her tail lashing behind her and her eyes slits.
Cloverpool nodded in agreement with the she-cat. "We could have the Clan split into two groups. It would work better than multiple, small groups," The deputy suggested.
"That would work out well just as long as the group's work and stay together. We will need a leader for each group whom we can trust to keep everyone together," Peonyflight retorted.
"How about this? The Clan will be divided into two groups: Cloverpool leading the first and me leading the second. Our first group will advance into Archangel's camp first, and most likely this will take place in the middle of the night so we can take them by surprise. Our second group can wait outside in the cover of the trees. The first group will lock themselves in battle for a while and wear out Archangel's cats. Then Cloverpool will send out a signal when reinforcements are needed. The second group will then advance and take Archangel's cats by surprise," Dimstar explained, flexing his claws.
All three nodded in agreement with their leader but Minktalon spoke up. "We will need cats to guard the exit of the camp so none of Archangel's cats can escape. If we let no cats escape, we can hit them more brutally and they won't be able to run back to our camp."
Dimstar gaped his jaws to reply to the former medicine cat but Cloverpool spoke up first. "We can assign those two in the future as soon as the group's are made. When the second group runs in, those cats can stay behind to guard the exit," Cloverpool informed her.
Dimstar nodded, his tail tip twitching. "Yes, what Cloverpool said. Also, I think we should start preparing for the battle now," Dimstar added. "We can organize two battle groups to go out every day for some battle training. Cloverpool, do you mind going to organize the first? Also, thank you for attending."
"Of course, thank you as well Dimstar," Cloverpool muttered with a dip of her head. She turned and padded out of the den.
"I will assist you, Cloverpool," Minktalon called and stood to her paws. She nodded to Dimstar before bounding after the deputy.
Dimstar smiled after the two and turned to glance at Peonyflight. The medicine cat rose to her paws and smiled faintly back at Dimstar.
The medicine cat had been going through a lot lately. Many moons ago, Minktalon and Waspstar changed the code to where medicine cats could take on a mate. Peonyflight had become Smokeflight's mate, but she had discussed before to Dimstar that she didn't love Smokeflight in that way. He felt sympathy for the she-cat and it was overbearing.
"Thank you as well Peonyflight," Dimstar purred to the medicine cat.
"You're welcome, Dimstar," Peonyflight mumbled before turning away. "Have a great day."
Dimstar watched as the medicine cat padded off, her tail sliding across the earth behind her. A sigh escaped the russet leader and he stared down at his paws. Some cats were having a rough time already, and the thought of heading into a battle with the possibility of facing more deaths wasn't making it any better.
The leader eyed his claws that were flexing against the hard rock beneath him. His eyes flashed as he glanced back up, staring outside of the den. Finally, they had discussed their battle plans and the battle was drawing nearer. Hopefully, this ambush in the future would take a fatal, first blow to Archangel's Clan and weaken them. Hopefully, Archangel's Clan wasn't ready to ambush them before the rebellion could launch their plan.
Dimstar clenched his teeth. Cats were going to die no matter what happened, and he couldn't stop it. He would risk all of his eight remaining lives but it wouldn't be enough to stop any cat from dying. A lot of cats already died in the war they lost, and it drove Dimstar to lead this rebellion.
No matter what, he would avenge every cat who fell during the war.
He will take EchoClan back.
I will destroy Archangel...
