(Third Person P.O.V)

Days passed. Dark circles under (Y/N)'s (E/C) eyes had since become her signature look.

Jay was the first to notice it. Of course, all his brothers, Nya and Sensei Wu had eventually noticed. But Jay had been the first to notice how (Y/N) began lacking the same energy they'd all known and how uninterested in anything that didn't involve Zane (Y/N) was recently.

Seriously it was as if Zane had become the main focus in her life now. If Zane wanted something. Just politely asking for something in his own courteous way, that sometimes the other ninja ignored. (Y/N) was straight onto them. Making damn sure Zane got exactly what he'd asked for from them.

Help with the dishes. (Y/N) would drag whichever ninja Zane had asked was dragged straight into the kitchen and shove them right in front of that kitchen sink. Help shopping on a busy day. The ninja or ninjas would be physically dragged along and forced to assist.

Zane wanted peace and quiet for meditation. He got it. Hanging out. Zane got that. Whatever, wherever, whenever (Y/N) made sure Zane's whims would be catered too.

But any time Lloyd came around, (Y/N) would turn her back on him. When he'd come into the room to ask (Y/N) something? She'd turn and make an excuse to leave.

Jay was also the first to notice how much it affected Lloyd. He noticed how any time (Y/N) would avoid Lloyd he'd tense up, almost like he was about to cry.

And Jay wasn't far off from the truth. Every time (Y/N) made an excuse to avoid Lloyd, Lloyd could feel a tiny piece of his heart cracking. He could feel how apprehensive (Y/N) was around him, and it hurt.

It was bizarre for the residents of the bounty to watch. It was as if Zane had somehow traded places with Lloyd in her mind and now Zane had her unwavering loyalty.

What had really thrown Jay was two things that had happened just after Lloyd's departure for his tour around Ninjago to accept all sorts of awards.

Jay's parents had invited both him and (Y/N) over to their beloved junkyard. The pair plus Cole's dad had apparently been in contact with the police in hopes of finding (Y/N)'s parents or even her true identity.

As far as the Ninjago city police were able to find no one fitting (Y/N)'s age or appearance had been reported recently and no identity paperwork was found either. So Ed and Edna had something to ask both Jay and (Y/N).

"Jay, son." Ed said with a warm smile. "How would you feel about having (Y/N) as a sister?"

Not long after that question, the final adoption paperwork was signed by a Ninjago city judge. Jay officially had a 'Little sister' of his own.

Something Kai immediately began taunting Jay with. It started with one exact comment: "Hey, Jay since your dating Nya. Is it ok that I start dating your little sister?" Kai teased with a cocky grin.

It was also immediately after that comment that Jay learned the joy of having a sibling willing to beat up your bullies for you. And Kai learnt what it was like to be on the receiving end of an overprotective siblings wrath.

The second was that Zane was old fashioned. But in a good and rather sweet way.

Zane approached Jay one day to ask if he could have a private meeting with Jay and his parents. Curious, Jay took a very nervous Zane to meet with his parents at the family junkyard. Edna brought out tea and crumb cakes. And Ed cleared a table for them all to sit at.

Zane was fidgeting and having trouble keeping eye contact with everyone. "I... I..." Zane struggled to get out. "It's alright, dear." Edna said with a comforting tone. "Just take a deep breath and say what you want to say when you are comfortable."

Zane wriggled in his chair, taking a deep breath. "I wish to court (Y/N)!" Zane practically screamed out to the three Walkers.

Ed and Edna immediately hugged Zane and giving him their blessing for him to court (Y/N).

Jay grinned and gave Zane a friendly and affectionate headlock and ruffling of his hair. "Zane. I'm proud of you." Jay said, letting go of Zane's head. "R-really?" Zane asked nervously. "E-even though I'm a nindroid?"

"Zane buddy. That doesn't matter." Jay laughed elbowing Zane in the shoulder. "As long as you make each other happy, love each other and treat each other right, that's all that matters." Jay said, patting his friend on the back.

Zane beamed with knowledge and blessings he'd just received. Three oldest Walkers immediately set about helping Zane plan how to ask (Y/N) out.

(Third Person P.O.V)

When Zane told (Y/N) that he had a big surprise for her, she was, naturally, a bit sceptical that it was actually going to surprise her. But none the less complied with Zane's wishes.

Zane stood behind her and covered her eyes with his hands. His hands were pleasantly cool against (Y/N)'s face. "No peeking (Y/N)." Zane said as he instructed her on where to go.

"I promise I won't peek." (Y/N) said, smiling at Zane behaviour. "What is it that you don't want me to see?" (Y/N) asked the flustered nindroid.

"That would ruin the surprise!" Zane said a bit too quick and a bit too loud. "I'm going to take my hands off your eyes. Please, don't peek." Zane said, making sure she wouldn't peek.

"Again, I won't peek," (Y/N) said and Zane took his hands off (Y/N)'s eyes. "What could be so important that-" "Now you can open your eyes!" Zane said excitedly.

(Y/N) opened her eyes. There, on her bed, lay a large hardback book, in brand-new quality. Its cover was a little childish illustration of herself and Zane holding hands. The title read (Y/N) Walker.

"What is this?" (Y/N) asked, picking up the book. "Please read it!" Zane pleaded he was so excited he couldn't help but grin. (Y/N) had to admit, it made her happy that Zane was so excited. She opened the book to its first page. "(Y/N) Walker by Zane Jullian." She read aloud.

"Zane, you wrote this?" (Y/N) asked the sweet nindroid. "The whole book." Zane proudly stated. "But I had to ask your parents and brother for any photos of us." Zane admitted opening a page for her.

There was one of them training together. One where they were helping Ed and Edna within the junkyard. There was one where (Y/N) had kicked Kai in the face during training Jay cheering in the background.

There were pictures of Zane and (Y/N) meditating. Well Zane was meditating (Y/N) was struggling to meditate she was in the same pose as Zane but her face was one of anger whereas Zane was one of serenity.

(Y/N) chuckled at the photo. "I will never master meditation." (Y/N) commented with a laugh. Zane loved that sound and wished to hear it as often as he could.

"Zane this book must be at least five hundred pages long." (Y/N) said flicking through the pages. "Correction. Six hundred and two." Zane proudly remarked. (Y/N) couldn't help but smile at how proud Zane was of this accomplishment.

"Please read it." Zane urged her. "(Y/N) Walker." (Y/N) read aloud. "Where do I even start? She's a stubborn. Fearless. Unstoppable warrior that sees the world differently. She is different more than any other person I have known. And is unorthodox in all the right ways."

(Y/N) looked up from the book. "Zane, is this whole book is about me?" She asked. "Yes!" Zane blurted out with a smile. The nindroid was practically vibrating with energy. "Chapter one is about how much I love your eyes." Zane explained rather shyly.

"I hope you're not going through a list of body parts." (Y/N) said eyeing the chapters. She was all that interested in reading about her spleen.

"Do not worry there is more than just that." Zane commented with a warm smile. "This chapter is about the funny things you say in your sleep." Zane said, pointing out the chapter to her.

"I talk in my sleep?" (Y/N) exclaimed in surprise. "Every night." Zane conveyed. "Also, there are three chapters just describing the feelings you make me feel." Zane said slightly blushing.

(Y/N) couldn't help but smile. "Zane, I don't know what to say." She expressed. "I know how much you love reading, so I decided to write a book about how much I love you." Zane said honestly.

"You love me?" (Y/N) said almost breathlessly. Surly Zane didn't mean it in the same way Jay and Nya loved each other. Neither one of them were persistent in that sort of thing unlike her brother and his girlfriend. Zane had to have misspoken. Surly.

"You should turn to page five hundred and ninety-eight, start reading from the top. Please." Zane said enigmatically.

(Y/N) open the book to the correct page and read aloud. "(Y/N) is, in my not-so-humble opinion, is one of the best people to ever exist. She is so passionate about the things and the people she cares about and I am lucky to count myself as one of those people. She makes me feel things that I never thought possible. I love every single bit of her and I will never stop loving her no matter what happens. That is why I wanted to ask her something today. (Y/N). Turn around." (Y/N) stopped reading.

"Turn around?" (Y/N) questioned aloud. "Just turn around (Y/N)." Jay shouted from somewhere in the room. Followed by shushing noises. "Jay?" (Y/N) questioned why her brother was hiding in her room.

(Y/N) turned around and there was Zane holding up a dozen roses.

"(Y/N)." Zane said, his voice box shorting slightly causing his voice to waver but his eye contact never did. "Will you... Will you do me the honour of allowing me to become your boyfriend?"

(Y/N) was smiling so hard it hurt. "Of course, Zane." She said taking the bouquet of roses and immediately gave Zane a kiss on the cheek.

Applause erupted from the not so secret ninjas hiding amongst (Y/N)'s room.

"You really mean it?" Zane asked hopefully. (Y/N) smiled at him and took his hand. It was as if she was caught in a current, unable to turn away from Zane. Even now, (Y/N) found herself captivated by his warm smile and kind eyes.

"Zane, you understand me in a way no one ever has before. I like hearing you talk about the stuff you're into. The way you stroke my hair as I go to sleep beside you. You don't judge me and the way you're always there for me, I want to be there for you too, anyway I can be. I'm just... I'm so crazy about you that I can't stand it sometimes." (Y/N) complimented her boyfriend.

"I hope you like the book." Zane said noticing the expression on (Y/N)'s face soften even more. "I love it." (Y/N) said honestly. "And I love you."

(Third Person P.O.V)

Echo sat loathing the silence. He reminisced about (Y/N). He missed the way (Y/N) would smile at him. How long it had been since he saw her, touched her, held her.

She rescued him from loneliness only to snatch way from him by the ninja.

Not for the first time though, a dark thought wormed its way into the nindroids mind. There was no telling what they might do now that she was without his protection, how they might hurt her. And even if by some miracle they left his dear (Y/N) alone, there was still the chance that she might get caught in the crossfire between them and whatever enemy they had made that week.

His new friend had promised him they will one day have their revenge he just had to be patient.

But his thoughts just couldn't resist coming back to (Y/N). (Y/N) would be in his arms again. Safe and secure. Right, where she was meant to be.
