Darkness. Echo opened his eyes to find himself in darkness. In surprise, his head popped off the cold metal  floor and he frantically looked around. He barely even registered that something was wrong at first-  feeling a cold, hard floor beneath his sleeping frame- he was used to sleeping rather uncomfortably at the lighthouse. The Skulkin hadn't proved it with any pillows, and only one fabric tarp could be slightly akin to a blanket. Dr. Julian had used it when the nights got unbearable, but that was about it. As the little nindroid looked around, eyes adjusting to the light, he noticed a hole in the brightening darkness. A tear. Feeling around, he realized he was sitting in a cage. A large bird cage. Echo peeked through the hole in what was now apparent to be a cloth draped over the cage. On the other side, was what looked like a junkyard. It consisted of many ramshackle buildings, for the most part resembling houses. The town is filled with junk and debris, but seemingly organized in a system only those who organized the piles would understand. Speaking of which- Ravens. The town was filled with ravens.. Based off of how they navigated and acted, this place was their tribe's territory. But... Why was HE here?! Why was he in a cage?! WHAT HAD HE DONE WRONG?!!!

As thoughts of panic began to swarm Echo's mind, the cloth was yanked off and a blinding light washed over the small robot, disorienting him. He fell backwards and landed on his butt, staying stunned by the unexpected light for a moment as he heard a few voices ring out.

"Come one, come all!" A raven squawked. "Step right up and come see the latest in technology from across the merged realms! A LIVING MACHINE!"

A second raven, who looked a bit older, swooped down and placed his taloned hand on his hip while he examined Echo. "Hmm- living machine you say? What's it do exactly?"

Echo shook off the remaining disorientation as he stood up and tilted his head at the situation unfolding.

"Well my friend," The first raven began, "This wonderful contraption can walk, talk, sleep, and... um." The bird glanced back at Echo, who still stood confused. "Ah, say, what can you do exactly?" He whispered.

The nindroid stood up tall, facing the birds almost proudly. "I am Echo Zane. I'm built to protect those who cannot protect themselves." He saw that vow as something of heroism and responsibility; a fact to be proud of.
The ravens on the other hand-

"You heard that right! This bucket of bolts even doubles as a body guard. And it can cook and clean!"

Well-.. Echo didn't know what this guy was trying to do, but he DEFINITELY couldn't cook. He's caught fish before, for Dr. Julian of course, but HE wasn't the one who... um. 'Prepared' them.
Honestly, he could never. As for the cleaning part, Echo supposed that was accurate. He used to clean the lighthouse every day when he lived there; it passed the time, plus, he found it relaxing. But STILL. The older raven inspected Echo for another moment before the other one remarked how rare and one of a kind the robot was, saying that he'd only let him go for an equally high value item. Then it hit the little nindroid, right as the two shook hands and the other flew off to fetch something.

"DEAL!"

He was just SOLD!

"WH- WAIT! You can't sell me! I'm not yours to sell! I'm not anybodies property!"

The raven chuckled with a strange squawking undertone. "Sorry little gadget, but business is business. Besides, you'd sell yourself too if you knew how much I was getting for you. Now pipe down."

After a few minutes, the buyer returned with a massive sack full of stuff. They traded goods, and then the older bird grabbed a rope attached to Echo's cage and wheeled it away while the robot protested.
