Two days later...

Dawn: "Just hurry up and kick some ass."

The team is ready to split up, with Ashley, Jeremy, and Dominic heading out and the others sticking around the cafe with Jeremy using a wooden bat and Ashley wearing armwraps.

Jeremy: "I doubt that we'll get our asses handed to us."

Matthew: "Just try not to take too long."

Dominic: "The complex is six stories tall and the elevator is on the fritz from what I heard."

Ashley: "Glad to know that track is going to pay off."

Connor plants his face on a table.

Connor: "(muffled) We'll be waiting."

The three fighters head out.

Twenty minutes later...

Gamirell stands in a brown Relay Gear is standing menacingly on top of an apartment complex, alone and is staring at active explosives on the inside of the building through a laptop.

Gamirell: "Paxell was worthless. You just need to kick things up a notch."

His Stream Echo faintly forms behind him.

Gamirell: "(smirking) Right Jack?"

He notice the three at the bottom.

Gamirell: "Welcome!"

Meanwhile...

Dominic: "That's just great."

Jeremy equips his Relay Gear as Ashley equips a purple Relay Gear and Dominic his own.

Gamirell: "(in the distance) Just try to get up here!"

Ashley: "We plan on it!"

The three rush inside to find crates of dynamite ready to go kaboom.

Jeremy: "Glad he didn't ask for Connor."

Dominic: "He'd probably blow us up on accident."

All apartments are locked.

Ashley: "I hope this place is soundproof."

They begin their trek to the top.

Meanwhile...

Carmen: "(in pain) What the fuck is this shit?"

Carmen is inside a messy, run down apartment when her chest begins to burn.

Carmen: "(in pain) What the hell did I eat?"

She curls into a ball by the door.

Ten minutes later...

Ashley: "Drain Wave."

The heroes have reached the third floor.

Dominic: "Can these guys seriously cut back a little?"

Jeremy: "Healing Wave."

Jeremy heals a few wounds on Ashley.

Ashley: "How many stories is this?"

Dominic: "I think it's six plus the roof, so technically seven."

Jeremy: "And we only just got to the third floor..."

They continue moving forward until they hear screaming from room 314 on their right.

Dominic: "Pie joke?"

Ashley opens the door to find Carmen in pain on the floor.

Carmen: "(in pain) My chest burns!"

Jeremy kneels next to Carmen.

Jeremy: "A Stream Echo?!"

Dominic: "Strange that we keep bumping into them."

Carmen: "(in pain) Aren't you those guys at the cafe? What the hell are you doing here?"

Ashley: "Saving lives."

Carmen: "(in pain) I'm pretty sure no one else is here."

Dominic: "Say what now?!"

Carmen: "(in pain) None of the normal noises are around."

Jeremy: "Then why are you here?"

Carmen: "(in pain) Sleeping in."

Ashley: "Well now what? We've still got to make it to the roof and we're only halfway through the third floor."

Carmen: "(in pain) Do you think I can walk like this?"

A man steps through the doorway.

Jeremy: "Time for a home run!"

Jeremy lands a home run in the gut and deactivates his light blue Relay Gear and gives it to Carmen.

Jeremy: "Just push that button when the burning stops."

Jeremy puts it on Carmen's right wrist.

Carmen: "(in pain) What the hell is this thing?"

Dominic: "Just listen to us."

Carmen squeezes her chest.

Carmen: "(in pain) Just get out of here!"

The three continue their upward trek.

Half hour later...

Ashley: "You happy to see us?"

The heroes have finally arrived at the top.

Gamirell: "(chuckling) You like the bait?"

Jeremy: "You managed to set everything up perfectly."

Gamirell: "We've also got a couple men dealing with your little cafe."

Gamirell turns around as his Echo forms behind him.

Gamirell: "Time to let Jack the Ripper have some fun!"

Dominic: "Th-The serial killer?!"

Gamirell: "Ripper Wave!"

Small razor blade made of silver light shoot off in multiple directions like shrapnel.

Jeremy: "Sounds like the name works!"

Several small cuts cover everyone's faces and Relay Gear.

Ashley: "His Wave is like a bomb! Regalia Wave!"

Gamirell: "I split you into two groups to make my job easy!"

Dominic: "I understand Jeremy and I, but why Ashley?"

He releases another Ripper Wave, but Ashley weaves through all of the blades.

Gamirell: "So that I can have a little fun while I do it!"

Meanwhile...

Carmen has gotten on her feet and is slamming herself into a wall.

Carmen: "(in pain) What's happening to me?!"

A voice echoes in her mind.

Voice: "You can't keep hiding from your memories."

The pain has moved to her head as she has visions of flying in a plane over the ocean.

Carmen: "(in pain) My memories?!"

A frying pan falls over the kitchen counter and lands in front of the door.

Voice: "Now you may let go of your anger."

A mix of light blue and brown light swirls beneath her feet as the pain fades away.

Carmen: "I hear you Earhart."

Her own Stream Echo forms behind her as she equips her Relay Gear.

Carmen: "I don't know what the hell is going on, but..."

She picks up the pan and menacingly walks towards the top.

Carmen: "(smirking) ... I like it!"

She picks up her pace.

Meanwhile...

Dominic: "Wh-Whoa!"

Gamirell is dissolving into shadows and making sneak attacks on everyone.

Gamirell: "You're running on fumes, aren't you?"

Ashley: "(exhausted) This isn't going to end well without the others."

Jeremy has clearly used all of his strength to keep their wounds under control.

Jeremy: "(drained) I... can't..."

He passes out.

Gamirell: "One down, two to-"

???: "Aviator Wave!"

A sudden burst of wind sends Gamirell flying off of the building and he barely catches the edge in time.

Dominic: "Carmen?!"

Carmen menacingly walks towards the helpless Gamirell as he hoists himself up.

Gamirell: "Wh-Who are you?!"

Carmen: "Your worst nightmare."

The wind dies down.

Gamirell: "R-Ripper Wa-

Carmen places her foot down on his hand, causing him to shriek in pain.

Carmen: "You're going to do jack shit."

Dominic: "(awkwardly) I'll get the police."

Everyone's Relay Gear is taken off as Dominic gets the police.

Ashley: "Just to be safe, Drain Wave."

All of Gamirell's strength is sucked out of him.

Carmen: "Who the hell are you people?"

Ashley hoists Jeremy to his feet.

Ashley: "The Rebirth Crusaders."

Carmen: "Now I'm just confused."

They all head down...
