A few days later...

Dawn: "(yawning) How much longer?"

Everyone except Carmen is back at Matt's.

Connor: "I don't want to bomb this test."

Ashley: "After you bombed three last year?"

Connor: "(awkwardly) We don't talk about that."

Matthew: "Aren't you the reincarnation of Einstein?"

Connor: "(awkwardly) We also don't talk about that."

Jeremy face plants into his textbook.

Jeremy: "(groggy, muffled) We've been smashing our faces into this for days now."

Dominic: "Sorry Jeremy, but you and Matthew are the nerds here."

Dawn pulls out a handheld, gaming system.

Dawn: "And those guys aren't even going after-"

A knock is heard at the door.

Ashley: "Really?"

A slip of paper slides through a crack in the door.

Connor: "I think you spoke too soon."

Matthew grabs the paper.

Matthew: "The queen, your support, and the Streamline Echo at the Emerald Lily Apartment Complex at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Ignore any instructions and the complex will come down with it's lives inside. - Gamirell."

Matthew drops the paper.

Ashley: "Are you happy now?"

Dawn: "Not really."

Jeremy picks it up.

Jeremy: "So that's what they're calling my Echo."

Dominic: "Ashley, Jeremy, and I?"

Ashley: "Why me? Matthew is new."

Matthew: "Maybe... because my Stream Echo is still developing?"

Dominic: "So they don't have the full rundown on your powers."

Dawn: "All he has is his Ring Wave and Adrenaline Wave."

Jeremy puts the paper in his pocket.

Matt: "They say that they'll kill an entire apartment complex's worth of people if everyone goes."

Connor: "So I'm just getting shafted?! No fair!"

Ashley: "So that'll be fine."

Connor begins to grovel dramatically.

Matt: "For now, just focus on studying. Your test is tomorrow and Saturday is right after, so you three can stay here and make sure that they won't pull any sneak attacks."

Dawn: "Sure..."

Connor slams his face into his textbook.

Connor: "Back to face smashing."

Jeremy: "Great..."
