The next day...

???: "S-Sorry!"

A young male with dark brown hair, navy blue, collared shirt with golden edges, braces, tan pants, black, leather belt, light orange bag, freckled, pale skin, and extremely thin is trying to weave his way through the crowds of school.

Male: "Ouch!"

He just tripped and his bag was sent flying a few feet.

Jeremy: "Need some help?"

Jeremy helps the male up as Connor grabs his bag.

Connor: "You new?"

Male: "Y-Yeah my parents just had us move to the area."

Connor gives him his bag.

Jeremy: "What's your name?"

Matthew: "M-Matthew Bairiway."

Jeremy holds out his left hand.

Jeremy: "Jeremy Kline."

Connor: "Connor Lynx."

The bell rings.

Jeremy: "You know your first hour room number?"

Matthew "119."

Jeremy: "Looks like we've all got first hour together."

They all head for their first hour.

However...

??? 1: "Jeremy Kline is to be apprehended for Project Echo."

Three males wearing strange outfits that seem to be skin tight are standing by an alley entrance outside the school. One wears a red, another blue, and the last is white.

Blue: "Hm?"

The one in blue pulls out an orange version of a familiar watch out of his back pocket.

Red: "You accidentally grabbed two Relay Gears?"

Blue tosses it towards the back of the alley.

White: "No matter. They won't see us coming."

Several hours later...

Matthew: "You've got a small group of friends?!"

The three guys have just stepped outside the school.

Jeremy: "We plan on meeting up soon. You want to come to our hangout?"

Matthew: "Y-Yeah!"

They've all traded numbers.

Connor: "Well I've got to go get some day one homework done."

Connor waves as he heads for the nearby dorms.

Jeremy: "So you want to go grab a drink before we head home? I'm buying."

Matthew: "Sure. Homework means nothing to me."

They stroll by the alley.

White: "Lure Wave."

Jeremy and Matthew hear those words as their legs drag them into the alley.

Matthew: "Lure Wave?"

Jeremy: "(face palming) Aw come on!"

Red: "An extra civilian."

Matthew: "You... know about this?"

Jeremy: "Can you keep secrets?"

They stand in front of the three men.

Jeremy: "Relay Gear?!"

Blue: "Project Echo awaits you."

The three men summon strange ghosts behind them.

Matthew: "(in pain) My chest!"

Matthew's chest feels like he's burning from the inside out.

Jeremy: "No it doesn't!"

Jeremy holds out his watch.

Matthew: "(in pain) Huh?"
