Chapter 19
Stiles's Pov
I have never wanted this day to go by faster ever since I told Luke it was alright for him to come over.
I wanted the bell to ring because I would finally get to go home.
And I wouldn't be going alone. Luke would be coming with me.
God, I've never felt this giddy in my entire life and I'm not sure whether to be happy or concerned.
Or maybe both.
A victory grin appeared on my face when the bell finally rang, telling everyone that school was finally over and we could head home.
I gathered all my belongings and practically ran out of the classroom.
I hurried to my locker and opened it up and stuffed the books that I didn't need inside.
I grabbed the books that I did need and stuffed them inside my bag. I couldn't be bothered to have too many things inside.
There were specific books that I needed for some of my homework assignments.
That and I really don't fancy carrying a heavy bag.
"You're in a rush" an annoying voice from next to me spoke.
I paused, clenched my eyes shut and gritted my teeth.
It took everything in me not to yell in complete annoyance, considering I knew that voice too damn well.
I closed my locker and turned around to face Scott, who was leaning against his locker with his hands in his pockets.
"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"You're awfully in a rush when you've got nothing to do. You're just going home, nowhere else" Scott said.
Is it a crime to punch him until he loses consciousness?
Well, I do fancy that idea but I prefer to handle this the mature way.
I'm not a child and I won't stoop down to his level because he's trying to get under my skin.
"Yes, I'm going home. And I'm going home to do homework. Because unlike you, I value my education and would like to graduate highschool" I fake smiled at him.
A glare appeared on his face before he quickly shook it away.
"Well, have fun with your homework. The pack and I have another meeting and, of course, you aren't invited. You must know that" Scott smiled fakely at me.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
"Of course I do. And trust me, I'd rather stay home then attend a stupid meeting with you and your followers" I spat.
Of course, I'm not talking about the ones that I'm still friends with him.
I'm simply talking about the ones that still stand by his side.
I call them his followers but I also prefer calling them idiots.
Honestly, either name suits.
Scott let out a laugh, unfazed by what I said, and pushed himself off the lockers.
He walked away from the lockers and stood in front of me, his hands still in his pockets.
"Well, while I'll be surrounded by friends, my packmates, you'll be surrounded by nothing but books. Because apparently, those are your only friends right now" Scott mockingly smiled.
I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist at my side.
I felt anger and hatred course through my body and I did my best not to punch that stupid smile off his face.
He's just trying to get under my skin, that's just what he wants, and I refuse to give him the satisfaction of losing my cool.
Even though all I wanted was to beat his ass.
However, I wasn't prepared for what happened next.
A basketball was thrown straight into Scott's direction, the said werewolf boy let out a yell and was sent to the ground as a loud thud after his fall.
My eyes widened and my jaw dropped, especially when I saw some blood dripping from his nose.
Whoever threw the ball at him used so much force that it broke his nose.
Speaking of the thrower...
I turned around and gasped when I saw Luke standing a few feet away from us, a glare settled on his face as he stared at Scott.
I gulped slightly at the glare, he looked really scary and intimidating.
Luke walked closer, that way he was standing closer to me, and turned his head to look at me.
Within seconds the glare was gone, almost as if it was never there in the first place, as he visibly relaxed.
"Hey, there you are, I was looking for you" Luke smiled.
I gaped at him, glancing at Scott, before looking back at him.
"I-I was here the entire time, I was just putting some books away" I said.
"Oh, silly me, I thought you were already waiting for me by your jeep. Sorry" Luke said.
"I-It's f-fine" I stuttered.
Why the hell am I stuttering...?
We both turned around when Scott got up from the ground, clutching onto his nose as he let out a few groans of pain.
His nose was still bleeding, why isn't he healing...?
Scott's eyes widened when he saw the blood after pulling his hand away from his nose.
A scowl formed on his face as he turned towards Luke.
"What the fuck, dude?! Why did you throw a basketball at me?" Scott demanded to know.
I glared at him when he was glaring at Luke for his actions.
I turned towards Luke, only to stare in amusement when he was completely unfazed by Scott's attempt to glare at him.
"Oh, sorry, I thought you were a basketball hoop and decided to take my shot" Luke replied.
"What the fuck?! Do I look like a basketball hoop to you?!" Scott yelled in anger.
"Your head is the right size of one. Especially with that crooked jaw of yours" Luke smiled innocently at him..
I let out a bark of laughter at that while Scott's eyes widened, he looked completely offended.
He opened his mouth to say something when Luke turned towards me.
"Come on, love. We're heading over to your house to work on homework, remember?" Luke asked.
"Yeah" I nodded.
Scott's eyes widened slightly when I heard that and he looked over at me.
"He's going to your house?" Scott asked.
"Are you deaf or do you just not pay attention when someone is speaking?" Luke asked.
Scott blushed slightly while I laughed quietly.
Luke rolled his eyes and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, making my cheeks heat up.
"Come on, love. Lets get going" Luke smiled.
He turned towards Scott and his smile disappeared as he eyed his bleeding nose.
"I hope that heals soon. If it doesn't, oh well. Not my problem" Luke shrugged.
With that, we turned around and began walking away.
I definitely ignored the offended squeak that escaped from Scott's lips as we walked down the hallway together.
However, it was hard to ignore the looks a few people were sending us because of the events that occurred.
I just realize that nobody at school really knows what happened between Scott and I and why I'm spending all my time with the others.
Not that it's any of their business.
Luke and I walked over to my jeep and he got into the passenger seat while I got into the drivers seat.
When the doors were closed I let out a sigh and leaned my back against the seat.
I turned towards Luke and saw him staring down at his hands.
"Thanks for doing that" I spoke up.
Luke looked up from his hands and turned to face me, raising an eyebrow.
"Thanks for putting him in his place. He was really getting on my nerves" I said.
"Of course. I heard everything he said and I wanted nothing more than to punch his stupid face" Luke rolled his eyes.
"You and me both" I nodded.
We both laughed at that as Luke let out a sigh.
"Just remember that I'm always going to be there for you. Remember, I care about you" Luke softly smiled.
My cheeks turned red as I shyly nodded at that.
"Yeah, I know" I nodded.
Luke chuckled softly at my reaction and nodded his head before turning his head to face forward.
But, of course, he rested his hand onto my thigh and gently caressed it.
I smiled faintly at the action as I started the car and took off once the car in front of us had took off.
And, surprisingly, I wasn't annoyed with Luke's hand on my thigh and didn't tell him to remove it.
Am I slowly starting to warm up to his gestures...?
And why is my mind still on the events that just occurred...?
At Home
The entire ride was filled with nothing but laughter as music was being played from the radio.
Luke and I would let out a few jokes from time to time until we got bored and decided to play some music.
It's a relief that we both seemed to like the same music because the second I put on my favorite music he grinned at me and I grinned back at him.
Here we are, singing along to the same music for the fifth time.
Is it weird that we're both fans of Ariana Grande...?
If it is then we could honestly give two timing fucks about that.
Because Ariana is amazing, she's a queen and her music is the best, there's no lie in any of what was said.
Anyone that says otherwise is just a hater.
Alright, now moving on from that...
Luke would play a few games on his phone sometimes, text Olivia time to time, but mainly playing games.
I would've enjoyed playing a few games on my phone but I had to focus on the driving.
The last thing I wanted to do was crash and be the reason we get sent to the hospital.
But, it was nice when Luke stopped playing his game and put on a video and positioned it so that we could both watch.
Honestly, that really was a sweet gesture.
Finally, after what felt like hours, I pulled up at my house.
I parked the jeep where I'd normally park it and got out of the car. Luke followed right after me.
After he closed the door he stared up at my house in awe before turning to look at me.
"Wow. Your house is nice" Luke smiled.
"Thanks" I smiled.
We both held onto our bags as we began walking towards my house so we could head inside.
However, before I could put my hand on the door knob, the door was flung open.
I yelped in surprise and stumbled backwards. Luke quickly rushed forward and wrapped his arm around my waist, holding me up so I wouldn't fall.
"Oh, Stiles, I'm so sorry. I didn't hit you, did I?" the voice of my dad reached my ears.
My eyebrows furrowed together and I looked up and saw my dad standing by the door, wearing his uniform, concern shown in his eyes.
I let out a sigh and shook my head.
"Don't worry, dad. I'm fine. I was just surprised, that's all" I reassured him.
"Alright, good" Dad sighed in relief.
However, his eyes locked onto Luke and that's when he realized it wasn't just me and him.
He eyed Luke up and down, slight suspicion in his eyes, before turning his attention back to me.
"Uh, son, who's your friend?" Dad asked.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion when I saw him staring down at my waist.
My eyes widened in realization and I looked down at what my dad was staring at.
Luke's arm was still around my waist as he was holding me up. My back was leaning against his chest as he held onto me tightly and...protectively.
My eyes lingered on his arm for a bit before I picked my head up, just in time to see Luke doing the same.
Our eyes met and my blush deepened when I realized how close we were.
Luke's eyes widened slightly at the realization as he pressed his lips together, his eyes dropping to stare at my lips.
I gulped at the action and resisted the urge to blush more than I already was.
Suddenly, a throat was cleared, snapping us out of the state we were in.
We turned around and saw my dad raising an eyebrow at us in confusion and...amusement.
I quickly cleared my throat and pulled away from Luke, who was reluctant to let me go but still did it anyway.
"Oh...uh, dad, I want you to meet Luke Carter. He's a friend of mine. Luke, I want you to meet my father, Noah Stilinski. He's also the sheriff" I introduced them to each other.
Luke cleared his throat and nodded his head, extending his hand out.
"Hello, Mr. Stilinski. It's very nice to meet you" Luke politely said.
Dad eyed him up and down before letting out a hum as he shook his hand.
"Very nice to meet you too, Luke" Dad nodded.
They pulled their hands away and I let out a sigh of relief.
That went easier than I expected.
"Dad, Luke and I are going to work on homework. Is that cool?" I asked.
"Yeah, that's fine. After all, homework is important" Dad nodded.
Luke and I smiled at that.
However, our smiles dropped when dad sent both of us a stern look.
"Listen, I have to head to work so I'll be back later. But, if you're going to be working in your room, I want the door open at all times. Am I clear?" Dad asked.
Is he kidding me right now...?
I sighed and rolled my eyes, stuffing my hands into my pockets.
"Yes, dad" I nodded.
"Yes sir" Luke nodded.
"Good. So then I'll see you both later" Dad smiled.
He ruffled my hair and patted Luke on the shoulder before walking past us to head to his car.
We watched as he got inside his car and started the car before he took off.
Luke and I stood in front of my house in silence, not really knowing what to say.
Luckily, the silence was quickly broken by Luke as he let out a chuckle and turned to look at me.
"Well, your dad is interesting, that's for sure" Luke grinned.
"Yeah. I know. But, he's an amazing dad" I smiled.
"I can tell. Now, shall we head upstairs and get started on this homework?" Luke asked, a cheeky smile on his face.
"Indeed we shall, good sir" I smiled back at him just as cheekily.
We both burst out laughing at that before heading inside my house, Luke closing the door behind him as we did so.
Something tells me I'm going to enjoy working on homework.
For the first time in my life I'm excited to work on something school related.
