Yi Mari stood against the wall of the building beside the hotel, Ji-yeong told Mari to wait while she goes to grab the room, and then when Ji-yeong comes with the key Mari can sneak in with her. Mari would be lying if she wasn't hoping they could stretch the money a little further for more than one night. She's already slept on the streets once before, she didn't want to have to do that again because she knew how they were treated because she was treated like that once upon a time as well. Mari blew on her hands that were mostly covered by her sleeves, despite it being June it was still cold out and slightly windy which made her skin prickle when the wind blew.

She was close to wrapping her arms around herself when Ji-yeong walked out with a smile on her face. "I got it." She said as she walked closer to Mari, as Ji-yeong walked closer Mari could see the room key dangling from her pinky so she can show Mari. "So do you want to go in and I'll go in after?" Mari asked as she started walking, she winced when the water bottle the Ji-yeong bought crinkled, echoing in the night, she placed her hands in her pockets to keep it from moving, the Dosirak was still in her jacket but she grabbed it through her other pocket so it wouldn't move around as much or worse fall out. "Yea, I'll go in and then wait 30 seconds then you can. If the clerk stops you, you can just say you're visiting someone or something." Mari nods and watches as Ji-yeong walks back inside.

Mari sucks her teeth before counting 30 seconds like she was instructed to, when she hit 30 she starts to walk towards the door. She takes the hand that was in the same pocket as the water out before grabbing the door, she internally winces when it dings but the clerk wasn't at the desk so she took it as a sign. She walked quickly just in case the clerk came back towards the elevator, Ji-yeong was already waiting outside of it but she was staring at her prepaid phone so it looked like she was busy if anyone walked up to her while she was waiting for Mari. "What room?' Mari whispered to Ji-yeong after she pressed the button to the elevator.

"214, 3rd floor," Ji-yeong said as the elevator opened, the two girls smiled as people flooded out. Once the elevator was clear the two of them got in it, they waited for a second to see if anyone would get on but when no one did they pressed the button to the 3rd floor. Mari leans against the elevator wall and moves her head to the side to look at Ji-yeong's face, she was concentrating on something else so she wasn't aware that Mari was staring at her, which is good because if Mari was caught she would've been embarrassed.

When the elevator doors started to open she snapped her head towards the door quickly as to not be caught by Ji-yeong, since they were safe and not around other people Mari stuck her hand in her pants pocket as she followed Ji-yeong towards their room. "This way," Ji-yeong mumbled loud enough that Mari could hear her, Mari hummed in reply and followed her towards their room, Ji-yeong took out the room key that was an actual key and placed it in the lock before turning it. "Oh," Mari said as the door opened and she saw the room, she quickly slipped off her shoes before walking further into the room Ji-yeong in front of her after slipping her own shoes off and placing them by the door on the matt. "Shit." Ji-yeong winced as she looked at the bed.

"It's fine, I can take the floor." Mari huffed out a small laugh carefully sitting on the edge of the queen-sized bed that was in the middle of the room. "I think I have enough to exchange for a two-bedroom, I just asked him to get the cheapest room there was. I didn't really ask for any details." Ji-yeong's cheeks started to heat up with embarrassment as she leaned against the wall. "No, it's fine. I'll sleep on the floor." Before Mari could say anything else Ji-yeong shook her head quickly. "No, we're best friends. We've been cellmates for 5 years, why don't we just share the bed? We can each take a side." Mari was going to decline but Ji-yeong gave her a look so Mari didn't bother.

She reluctantly nodded so Ji-yeong smiled and clapped her hands together. "Wonderful, now if you don't mind I would like a shower." She smiled before turning around and walking into the bathroom shutting the door behind her, Mari gulped before running a hand through her hair. She stood up and walked towards the fridge before opening it and she started to put the food she stole into the fridge so it wouldn't go bad, her stomach growled slightly as she looked placed them in but she resisted knowing that she didn't know when they would, but as she was listening to the shower running she knew how easy it was to sneak a bite of the Dosirak before Ji-yeong got out of the shower, she reached her hand out to grab when she yanked her hand back when she heard a bang throughout the hotel.

Mari's heart was pounding as she firmly closed the fridge door and stood up and walked back towards the bed but this time she was facing the window. She slowly started to take off her sherpa jacket, the bruises being pulled causing her to wince. In prison, she was constantly in fights, ones that weren't her fault but instead of any of them getting in trouble the guards didn't care so Mari became their punching bags, every night when they were locked in their cells for the night Ji-yeong would have to nurse Mari's wounds. "Here, let me help you." Mari heard Ji-yeong say from behind her.

"Thanks," Mari said quietly as Ji-yeong helped her ease the jacket off. "I don't have anything to treat it but maybe I can ask the front desk?" Without looking at her Mari shook her head. "No, I'm fine." When Mari turned around to face Ji-yeong she had to hold in a gasp, the towel was wrapped around Ji-yeong and she saw water droplets rolling off her skin. "Sorry, I came out here to grab something but then I saw you hurt so.." Ji-yeong half-smiled at Mari who quickly waved her hand. "It's no big deal, I'll be fine." Mari smiled at Ji-yeong, the woman didn't look convinced but she obeyed and went back to the bathroom to put her clothes on.

Mari let out a sigh before flopping back on the bed, she turned her head so she was facing the window. She let out a yawn before she could feel her eyes getting heavy, she tried to fight it but she could feel herself being pulled to sleep, so she stopped resisting.
