You gasped as you saw Thanos slip the gauntlet onto his hand. Without even thinking, you sprinted toward him. You knew that, if he snapped, it wouldn't just be half the universe that disappeared. It would be every living creature in the entire expanse of the infinite universe. You also knew that, if you got the gauntlet from Thanos, however unlikely it was, you would definitely not survive the powerful force of the energy that was stored in the infinity stones. You would be lucky if you even lived long enough to snap your fingers, so that Thanos and his children would disappear instead.

But none of these thoughts mattered to you. The only things that mattered were getting the stones away from Thanos and saving your family and friends. It didn't really matter to you, whether you lived or died.

You ran down a hill and launched yourself into the air, landing right next to Thanos. You grabbed at the gauntlet and struggled to force it off of Thanos' gigantic, muscular hand.

Just when you thought that he was too powerful and that it was no use to try, Peter landed next to you. He grabbed the gauntlet and, with you and Peter's combined strength, the gauntlet flew off of your purple adversary's hand. You and Peter were flung back with the large metal glove. You landed closest to it, so you grabbed it and were about to put it onto your hand, when you were knocked to the ground, the gauntlet flying off your hand. Black tendrils bordering the edges of your vision threatened to steal your consciousness.

You stood up dizzily. You tried to focus on your surroundings, but you were in a kind of daze, the black still crowding your line of sight. That is, until you saw your dad, kneeling on the ground. The Infinity stones were stuck inside of the glove on his suit.

You screamed and lunged toward him. You could hear Thanos saying his weird motto to your dad and Tony was about to snap his fingers.

"I am inevitable."

"Well, I...am... Iron Man" Peter watched in agony as Tony started to snap his fingers. But before he could, Y/N leaped on top of him and yanked off the glove. She shoved it on and snapped her fingers before anyone could stop her.

Peter screamed as a blinding white light enveloped Y/N. The light disappeared and she was on her knees, trembling. Peter ran as fast as he could and got to her just as she started to fall backward. He caught her and held her tight to his chest, tears streaming down his face. Y/N was gazing of into the distance her eyes were slightly glazed over.

"Y/N! Please look at me! You're going to be okay." As he was saying this, though, he began to doubt it. Y/N's face was covered in burns. She looked distant. But when he said her name, she looked into his eyes and he saw a flash of recognition and that only brought more tears.

"P-peter... it's okay..." she whispered, struggling hard to breath. She grabbed his hand lightly and smiled, but her eyes were still slightly distant. "I-I love you..." She closed her eyes and went limp.

"I love you, too" he said, as a sob escaped his lips.

People had started to crowd around them and they were saying things to him, but he couldn't concentrate. All he could think about were her last words. 'I-I love you'

Peter's eyes opened quickly and his breathing was heavy. He looked around and saw that he was in his room and his clock read 1:24 am. He tried to remember what had woken him up. Then it all came back. His dream. Y/N's death. She had snapped in Tony's place. He closed his eyes as the details returned to his mind.

Peter's eyes filled up with tears and he stood up out of bed. He blinked away the tears and started to pace.

Tony had snapped to end the war only four days ago, but it felt like just yesterday for Peter. He had been having nightmares where he was forced to rewatch Tony's death every night.

But tonight's was different. Tonight, it was worse. Tonight, he had to watch the person he loved the most die in his arms.

His breathing was getting faster and his mind was clouding. He knew that he was having an anxiety attack, so he tried all the things that usually calmed him down. None of them worked. So he picked up his phone and dialed Y/N's number.

She picked up at the fifth ring. "Peter?"

With the sound of her voice, Peter's breathing went back to normal and the anxiety was gone in an instant.

"Peter? What's wrong? Was it another nightmare?" She began to sound concerned.

"Yeah. Do you think that you could talk with me for a little bit? Just to help me calm down?" Peter felt bad for keeping her up every night, but it was the only way for him to get over his anxiety.

"Of course. What do you want to talk about?"

"Anything." Peter closed his eyes and smiled as he listened to Y/N ramble on and on about everything from the pleasures of having a younger sister to the struggles of being in high school.

He climbed back into bed and fell into a dreamless sleep. Lulled by the sound of her voice.
