Earth Mode ON: TWENTY ONE
Winter? Ofcourse. Everything happened too quickly that I didn't have any chance to think about what time of the year it was. We were probably in mid-January by that time, and now that I think about it, the weather hadn't changed at all back when January started. Normally, the air used to get cold by December then it started snowing during New Years. However, the temperature had been moderate and it sometimes rose too high to the point where you could have easily mistaken it for summer.
The second problem we were facing was the clothing. I was wearing a long sleeved shirt alright, but it was the type of shirt that was too soft that you would feel cold if the temperature fell down to twenty five degrees Celcius. That, of course, was in addition to the fact that I tore the lowest half of my shirt and pants. My pants were made of summer material too so any fluctuation in the temperature would have been capable of killing me. Taehyung, Namjoon, and Jimin weren't safe either. They wore similar clothes since they were at the fan sign before getting washed away. All three of them had black jeans on, unlike me, which was great, and their shirts were black too, but they too were made of summer material.
Winters in Korea were harsh, as everyone probably knows, and the moment it decides to snow, we will be dead, so dead! How would we have fixed this? We had no idea.
"Winter? Like... winter winter?" Jimin asked Taehyung for confirmation. He knew the answer to his question, but if there was a slight hope that Taehyung was messing around with us, we would like to hear a denial from him.
Taehyung gave him a dull look and then said," No. Winter Summer."
Jimin put on a fake smile which probably meant ' I know you missed me'.
Namjoon was staring off into space, but then he suddenly started shaking his head.
He immediately ran to his bag and started packing the water bottles that we were drinking from and any wrapper that contained left over food.
"We can't stay here. We have to find the emergency camps as soon as possible or we will freeze to death," He said as he packed the bottles and wrappers.
We all just stood there watching him pack everything up.
He noticed that we were just standing there, so he said,"Are you enjoying the show? Because I'd be so disappointed if you arent."
We all blinked at him with confusion until he decided to burst.
"I would deeply appreciate it if you can help me!" He let out with impatience and we immediately spread apart. The four of us started picking up anything we left behind on the floor and put it in a big circle around Namjoon. Namjoon picked up whatever we gave him and put it in the bag.
Before he zipped the bag up, we had to check for the important supplies, the very important ones.
"Water bottles. How many?" Namjoon asked and Jimin took it upon him to count the number of bottles in the bag.
He let out a bit of humming noises as he counted and then said," Twenty."
"Great! Number of Aid kits," Namjoon said and Taehyung started picking up the boxes and counting them up.
"Only four," he replied back.
"Are they full?" Namjoon asked him and so Taehyung started opening up the boxes one by one to check.
"Three of them are. The fourth one doesn't seem so," He said and then Namjoon snapped his fingers.
"Okay. Perfect. Lets go," he said and then stood up after squatting for so long. Taehyung put back the four boxes he pulled out and zipped the bag shut. He handed the bag to me and I crossed it across my chest. Taehyung and Namjoon walked over to Chung Ae and supported his body using their arms. Jimin was deeply injured, so we didn't allow him to help with anything.
"Come on, there is probably something I can do to help," he said. I could tell from his tone that he felt miserable and probably blamed himself for not being able to help, but as a matter of fact, we didn't feel like he was a burden. We were glad that we were able to do all the job ourselves just so he can finally get some rest.
I put a hand on his shoulder, which made him turn his head to my direction due to the sudden contact, and said," You can walk with me and we will entertain each other."
He gave me a smile and I returned it back.
"Okay. Let's move," Namjoon said with a grunt due to Chung Ae's weight and then he and Taehyung walked out the building. Jimin and I followed behind them and our journey started. The moment we set foot outside the building, I noticed a couple of snow flakes falling, just like Taehyung said. It wasn't snowing heavily, and it wasn't that cold, but for some reason it was snowing slightly.
I put a hand out in the air and let a snowflake fall on it. The feeling of the white, cold, fluffy snow against my dry, dirty hands made my heart flutter. It looks so beautiful. Nature is beautiful. Humans are the flaw. Because of them humans, nature is getting destroyed gradually. Nature was so patient with us, but now, it seems like it is getting its revenge.
A frown grew on my face when the snowflake melted immediately when it touched my skin.
Hmph.. no more beauty....
"Come on," Jimin said as he pulled me along.
The wind started blowing all over again, but the sun was still up. I didn't know what town this was, but if this was a normal day, I would've loved to have a walk here after a long day at university.
I looked around as I walked, trying to imagine this town as a different place. All I saw were destroyed buildings and debris. There were some fallen poles too. The colours that most probably once decorated this place seemed to have vanished, and so the place seemed dull and lifeless. It was lifeless indeed. There was no one around but the four of us and an unconcious Chung Ae. We knew that this walk was going to be long. We also knew that if it starts snowing any time and the weather gets cold, we'll die. We knew all that, but the one thing we didn't know was where we were headed to. None of us had any idea where we were and there were no signs to give us any forms of clue.
We passed by supermarkets, hospitals, restaurants, apartments, houses, all sorts of buildings. Jimin and I took it upon ourselves to enter some supermarkets and pack anything the water didn't destroy. We walked for nearly half a day until we felt like we couldn't walk any longer. I felt so sorry for Namjoon and Taehyung. By the time we gave up on walking, the two of them were drenched in sweat, and it seemed like breathing was impossible. Chung Ae started showing signs of consciousness but we still didn't know when he might wake up.
"Lets-lets sit down," Namjoon let out as he panted with all his might. Taehyung and Namjoon put Chung Ae down gently and then collapsed next to him and closed their eyes. We were in the middle of the town, and we didn't know where to go anymore. All we saw were connected roads but we didn't know where those lead to.
Jimin and I sat down next to Taehyung and Namjoon and I unzipped the bag. I took out two bottles of water and handed one to Namjoon and the other to Taehyung. They gulped them down without even taking a chance to breath and then laid back again and started panting.
"This won't do," Jimin said and then started scanning the area.
I nodded and just stared ahead. We were surrounded by so many houses, and there were cars everywhere, but they were in a miserable condition. The roads were wet, but at least they didn't turn into rivers. The wind was still blowing, but this time it was a bit stronger and colder. In a distance, I could see something standing tall, and it seemed like a sign to me. I immediately stood up and started limping in its direction.
"Where are you going?!" I heard Jimin shout after me, but I just kept going.
The moment I was there, I tried to read what was written on it. The sign was bent, so it was even harder for me to decipher what was written on it.
"Yan-" I tried to read. The moment I was able to see all the letters, a smile formed on my face.
"Guys!" I shouted and went back to where they were sitting.
"I know where we are!" I shouted with excitement and their eyes opened wide.
"Really?!" Taehyung asked.
I nodded really quickly and then said," Yangcheon-gu."
"Yangcheon-gu?!" Jimin asked.
"That's good. That's really good. It means there is about-" Namjoon said then paused to try to remember something.
"There is about 11 kilometers distance between here and Seoul. If we can find a car that works, it won't be long until we are back home," Namjoon said and it made our eyes light up.
Home, a word that I nearly forgot it existed in the korean language.
"Okay then. Jimin and I will examine as many cars as we possibly can and see which one works," I said with a smile and Namjoon nodded.
We all put our hands in the middle on top of each other and shouted," Let's do this!"

Hello my lovelies,
I know this chapter was so boring, but it was just a filler chapter.
Also, I revealed where they were. I opened google maps and tried to find a place that isn't too far from Seoul, and close to what I imagined. I found Yangcheon-gu and I felt like it can fill in. So...yeah... sorry again for this boring chapter but hopefully the next chapter contains some action.
Don't forget to take care and love yourselves,.
Thank you all,
I love you all,
-R 💜💜
