Earth Mode ON: FIFTY TWO

More and more days passed and we were still stuck in the same tent. Time was passing, but the four of us seemed to be stuck in time. Everything around us was changing. The wind that once stopped blowing started attacking our tents again, but this time more fiercely than it originally did. We were scared, extremely scared. The four of us were terrified of what to come later on. There was always this fear of losing each other one day when we were the only thing that we owned at the moment. There was nothing that we could possibly do but sit and wait for everything to be over. Sometimes, Jungkook and I would sit together and try to guess what day, or even what time, it was while Namjoon and Yoongi would take some time alone for themselves. I didn't know what Yoongi had to go through, but everytime I passed by him as he sat next to the sheets and stared outside at the snow, I could see the glistening of his eyes. Seeing him in pain brought out everything that was hidden in me. It made me feel like sacrificing myself for his happiness. He most probably missed everyone, and was wondering where they were or what kind of hardships they had to go through. I wondered why he always chose to sit by the sheets instead of his bed, but then it occurred to me: what if he was waiting to spot one of the members the same way Namjoon and I were capable of spotting him and Jungkook in the middle of the storm? What if all this while he spent his whole day and endured some sleepless nights just to look for his brothers? Those questions kept me awake at night, and because of them I found the need to sit back and watch Yoongi as he sat there on the cold, hard floor. The spark I saw in his eyes back then was disappearing and was being replaced by cold, stiff ice. The more he spent on the floor, waiting for someone to appear, the more his body became lifeless, but there was nothing I could for him.

Jungkook, on the other hand, couldn't stay still. During the times when him and I didn't sit together, he used to wander around the whole tent, looking for any clue that would lead him to his hyungs. The determination I saw in his eyes was equally as painful as the ice I saw in Yoongi's. The fact that he kept on looking in the same spots repeatedly every single day despite him not finding anything made my heart ache. It was because of me that both of them were hurting. It was because I refused to let them know the truth. Namjoon observed everything from afar, not knowing what to do anymore. The three of them were in a big mess and I couldn't do anything but sit in the middle of the tent and watch the three of them tear their souls apart. I knew there was going to be a time when everything was going to be alright, when I'll be able to confront them with the truth, just not now. Each and every single one of us felt pain, and the cure was in each one of us. We just had to take our time and find it.

There was nothing new going on for me. There I sat, on Yoongi's bed which was exactly in the middle of the tent. As usual, I was all alone while everyone else was busy doing something else. Yoongi was still on the watch for the members, Jungkook was still wandering around, and Namjoon was sitting all on his own in the far end of the tent. I was capable of seeing the three of them from where I was seated, and it only made everything more painful. Jungkook seemed lost, Yoongi was hurt, and Namjoon was having an internal battle. I, on the other hand, wished to find internal peace. I wished to be able to put my head on my pillow at night and actually sleep. I wished to go back to my room, to go back to my university, back to my friends, back to my old life. I wished to open my eyes and find my parents by my side. I wished that Namjoon, Yoongi and Jungkook can go back to where they belonged, in the middle of their brothers. I wished that they will no longer feel that way anymore. There were so many things to wish for, and it only hurt to know that none of these wishes will come true.

I took in a deep breath and threw my head back against the back of my bed then gulped to prevent myself from letting my tears fall. The crashing sound of the ferocious wind as it attacked the intact cloth of the tent was all that could be heard at the moment, at least to me. The PVC sheet that was supposed to be our only source of protection at the moment was blown inwards, the immense amounts of wind making it look like the top of a full balloon. Just as I was observing the sheet, I heard the sound of a heavy drop hitting the top of the tent. Everyone around me seemed to have heard it too, because everyone was suddenly looking upward. I noticed a wet spot in the top of the tent, and then another. The dripping sound kept on getting higher and higher, and the top of the tent kept on getting even wetter.

"It's raining," I heard someone from a nearby bed say.

The whistling sound of the wind and the sounds of the raindrops as they came into contact with our tent made my heart race. In fact, they were the only two sounds I was capable of hearing because everyone present in the tent went completely silent as those two sounds penetrated their ears the way they did with mine. The only thing I could see was the look of fear planted on everyone's face as our eyes traced every single wet spot on the top and sides of the tent. Soon enough, the PVC sheet started getting decorated with raindrops too, and at a point in time, the wind intensity kept on fluctuating, causing the sheet to constantly blow in and out.

I stood up slowly from my bed as I observed the tent getting wet. Suddenly, we heard an extremely loud thud which made us all scream and flinch in fear. The PVC sheet suddenly threw itself inward and was extremely intact again. My eyes widened in shock as the tent suddenly started getting drenched very rapidly and more raindrops kept on trickling down the sheet.

I gulped down in fear and felt both my breathing and heart rate go uneven. Everyone around us entered an extreme level of chaos, and a third loud noise was heard: the screaming of terrified patients.

The heavier the rain got, the more the tent started sinking down on us. We should've considered ourselves extremely lucky because the poles that held the tent up prevented it from falling down all over us. The sides of the tent started blowing inwards as well, and soon the tent started shifting to the side. The edges of the tent started getting untied as well, and that was the turning point of events. People started running around, screaming each other's names and looking for each other. The world seemed to be spinning all around me as I kept on getting pushed harshly by the frightened patients who would do anything to be by their families' side.

I got pushed really harshly and fell to my knees, where I was left heaving. A million thoughts raced each other in my head as I tried to get my priorities straight.

Namjoon. Yoongi. Jungkook.

TAEHYUNG. JIN. HOSEOK. JIMIN!

I pushed myself back up with as much force as I could, trying to resist the pushing of the crowd. Finding any of the three men was as hard as finding a pin in a batch of hay and it only frightened me more.

"Namjoon! Yoongi! Jungkook!" I screamed on the top of my lungs as I pushed myself in the opposite direction of the general flow of the crowd, but my voice was drained amidst all the screaming around me.

I grunted as I pushed my way through, eyes searching actively for any of the three men. The voices of the nurses started dominating over the deafening sound of the crowd, telling us to calm down so they can explain what was going on out there. The moment the crowd got a bit quieter, some nurses stood near the entrance of the tent on a stool and started addressing each and every one of us.

"We don't know how to break this down to you without frightening you, but please do not freak out and try to relax and remain as calm as you possibly can so things don't become worse," One of the nurses shouted high enough for everyone to hear.

Upon hearing this, a loud buzzing noise filled the tent as people all around the tent complained to each other. The nurses started calming us all down once more, then continued speaking after succeeding in turning our volume down a bit.

"Please. We are going through hard times, and as you can see, things aren't going well at all," Another nurse said, then paused for a moment, contemplating whether or not to tell us all the truth.

"What is going on?!" One patient shouted.

"What is happening outside?!" Another shouted.

The nurse gulped before saying," A hurricane. A very strong one."

Before she could even finish what she was trying to say, everyone broke down and everything became chaotic all over again.

"Guys please calm down!" I heard the nurses shout, but I wasn't going to sit still and hear any more. I had to find the three men before I lose them again.

I started pushing my way aggressively through the crowd, eyes filling up with tears. My vision started getting blurry due to the amount of suppressed tears, so I allowed them to fall. The first thing that came in mind was to call out their names, but I knew that no matter how much I screamed, my voice would never pierce through the voice of the crowd, so I decided that it was best if I just look for them silently.

My height didn't help me though, so I stood there, trying to think of another solution.

The stool.

My body trembled as I hurried towards the entrance of the tent. The tent kept on shifting sideways and the top of it was constantly sinking down. My shoulder felt sore from all the pushing I've done, but once I reached the stool, nothing mattered to me, not the fact that at any moment we would fly away, and not the fact that my whole body felt extremely sore.

The moment I was up the stool, I started looking around for Namjoon, Jungkook and Yoongi. After scanning the entire area as carefully as I possibly could, I was capable of locating the three of them, but unfortunately, they were all in different areas of the tent.

"Namjoon,"I whispered to myself and sniffed before descending the stool and running in the direction that I've seen Namjoon in. I kept on squeezing myself in between people until I finally caught sight of Namjoon. He had his back to me, so he wasn't capable of spotting my whereabouts.

"Namjoon! Namjoon!" I shouted, then held his arm when I finally reached him, catching him off guard.

"Seo Yeon!" He said in relief and hugged me.

"We have to go get Jungkook and Yoongi before it is too late!" I said while I was in his arms, causing him to let go of me and hold my wrist instead.

Namjoon took it upon himself to push through the crowd since his body was more built than mine was. I was dragged after him as he acted like a human shield to me, protecting me from all the people around us.

"There!" I shouted to him and pointed in the direction that we were supposed to take.

We caught a glimpse of Jungkook, so we ran up to him.

"Jungkook!" Namjoon shouted, his loud, deep, masculine voice piercing through the loud sound of everyone and catching Jungkook's attention.

Jungkook turned around to the source of the sound and just then, I could see a hint of relief in his eyes.

"Hyung," I heard him say as he ran towards the two of us.

"We still got Yoongi to fi-" I said but got interrupted when the whole tent got blown off.

The wooden poles that once held the tent fell down once it got into contact with the heavy wind, falling on some patients and crushing their already injured bodies.

The three of us held onto each other for dear life as the wind blew hard against us, dragging us away. The tent that contained the rest of the members was still intact, but it seemed as though its fate would join ours too at any moment.

"We- have- to-" I tried to say, but the enormous amounts of wind prevented me from talking properly.

All we could hear now was the fierce blowing of the wind and the screams of help coming from patients who were either crushed under the wooden poles, or were sent flying by the wind.
