The bargain
With Neytiri agreeing to the trip, Jake sorts through everything with Norm & makes a deal with the scientific facility on Earth. On the condition they cure his son's paralysis, they can conduct some testing on his body.

A few days passed while Norm reached out to the main science base back on Earth. Jake sat in on one of the meetings, explaining his situation. "My son, he was shot and he's paralysed now. I'm begging you to heal him," Upon the disinterested look from the guy on the screen, Jake sighed angrily, showing his fangs. "Woah, what the hell are those?" The guy asked. Jake frowned. "My teeth?"
"Incredible,"
An idea flooded Jake's brain. "What would it take for you to heal my son?" He asked. The guy, whose name tag said Mann, sighed. "I mean, I dunno. My boss is in charge of everything, but I dunno." Jake shot a look at Norm. "What if I agree to testing?" Both men frowned. "Elaborate," Mann said. "You guys want to know more about this planet, and its inhabitants, yes? Well, if you heal my son, and he can walk again, I'll let you test on my body." Mann pulled a face. "Hmm... I'll speak to my boss. I'm sure she'd be interested in this deal. OK, Jake Sully. You've got yourself a bargain. I'll send a contract to Norm within the next week,"
Jake puffed a sigh of relief. "What the hell were you thinking?" Norm snapped. "Hey, what?" Jake stepped back. "Testing? Jake, they take that as you sacrificing this body, your Na'vi form, to let them test on, you understand that, right?" Jake shook his head. "You'll do anything for your kids. Even if that means sacrificing yourself for them," Norm scoffed. "And Neytiri? Have you told her about this "deal" of yours? What does she think?" Jake raised an eyebrow. "Why is this such a big deal, Norm? My kid may as well be dead, and I know he feels that way because I used to. And anyway, we'll just write our own contract to clearly state that I won't be dead: they have a limit of tests they can conduct, and in return, I'll bring 'em some fauna for them to test instead,"
Norm shook his head. "Look, if you wanna fuck with these people, go for it. But, I think you're stupid,"

A week later, the contract arrived. Jake stole it and read it before Norm or Neytiri could grab wind of it. He skimmed through it until he found the T's & C's at the bottom.
On the condition that Jake Sully's son, unnamed, is healed and cured of paralysis, testing will begin on one Jake Sully. Testing to include: blood samples, skin samples, urine samples, hair follicles, and physical testing. To include cardio & resistance testing, swimming, cross country and hand-to-hand sports such as basketball & soccer.
Well... aside from the skin samples, the rest sounded relatively "we need him alive"
Jake scanned for some kind of contact info to just clarify this. "Ah, what can we do for you, Mr Sully?" Mann greeted. A tall, redheaded woman, stood behind, her hair tightly pinned back. She stood in army gear, and was probably around a similar age to him & Neytiri. "This contract... you ah... you need me alive, yes? And I'll leave alive too?" He cut to the point. The woman chuckled. "Fret not, we just wish to know more about how the Na'vi body works. Why it heals quicker, why it's faster, why you're taller, why you're blue, etcetera. I have a daughter, so I wouldn't take you away from your boy." Mann shot her an odd look. "But, Hayley's-" The woman silenced him with a glare. "When can we expect you, Mr Sully? And would it just be you and your boy?"
Jake blinked away the confusion. "Uh, right. No, it would be my whole family, but they are not to be tested on in any way shape or form without my previous concent." The woman raised her hands. "Of course. We just need to know for budgeting and rooming purposes. Nothing else, I assure you," Jake gave a single nod. "Ok. In which case, it would be my wife and our five children." The woman nodded. "Ok, that's fine. The finite details can be sorted when you hit Earth's atmosphere in, I assume, six years?"
Jake nodded. "That's right." The woman nodded back. "Fine. We have a rotation coming up in, I believe, three months, so you can get on that transport." Jake cleared his throat. "I forgot to mention, we'll be coming in human forms. My family don't feel comfortable walking around in their Na'vi forms. Mine will be coming with us still. And we will be using human names to keep them feeling safe." He said. The woman nodded. "Of course. Can I have their names and ages?" Jake bit his cheek. "Um, sure. Obviously, I'll be Sam and I'm thirty-seven. My wife is Zoe, and she's thirty-three. My kids, Jamie, Kira, Jack, Britain and Trinity are seventeen, sixteen, sixteen, fifteen and nine." The woman wrote the names down with a small frown. "Odd names," She muttered.
Jake had taken inspiration from his old life. His best friend was called Sam, and Sam's sister was called Zoe. For the kids, he named them after his old friends.
He waited patiently while the woman jotted some notes down. As she opened her mouth to speak, a redheaded little girl in pigtails wriggled on screen into her mom's lap. "Hayley, what are you doing here? You're supposed to be at school!" She chastised. "It was boring, why is he blue?" The little girl, Hayley, asked. Jake shook his head with a small smile. "It's fine. She's like my youngest, how old is she?" The woman shot another "mom" look at Hayley, who playfully rolled her eyes. "Ten,"
Hayley rolled her eyes again, reminding Jake very abruptly of Kiri. "Well, I'm glad that's all sorted. We'll see you in six years, Mr Sully. Good luck,"

Jake stood proudly in front of the human bodies that had been made. "So, Tiri, this is yours here, and you're called Zoe," Neytiri wrinkled her nose as she inspected the body. "Lo'ak, Kiri, Tuk, those are yours. You're called Britain, Kira and Trinity." They wandered off, Lo'ak slower behind with Tsireya holding his arm as they looked. "And Neteyam, that's your one over there," Jake helped his son over, who mimicked his mother's impression. "It looks gross," He bemoaned. Jake raised an eyebrow. "I'm gonna pretend that didn't hurt,"
With a loud sigh several hours later, Jake lead his family into the ship to practise in their bodies until they went into cryo in six months.
He cast a final look at Pandora, at the Metkayina beach. We'll be back. He vowed to Eywa. The waves rippled as if she were speaking back. Good luck, warrior.
