"Y/N! Please...please don't go! Don't leave me! Please!"

The stillness of your slumber was interrupted when Eve's panicked screams jarred you awake.

Quickly, you scrambled out of your bed, blankets and sheets practically flying to the other side of the room, and sprinted to Eve's room, where the door was slightly ajar.

"Eve?" You asked, knocking on it to let him know you were there. "Do you want me to come in?"

The door was opened to reveal your boyfriend with tears shining on his face. At the sight of you he gave a cry of relief and hugged you tightly.

"Nightmare?" You asked, rubbing his back as he cried into your shoulder.

Eve nodded. "It was...it was so realistic..." he gulped.

"Do you want me to stay with you?" You asked.

"Pl...please," he whispered, the words causing a brief shiver to rush through you.

With Eve's permission, you opened the blankets and sheets on Eve's bed. Eve himself was like a small child, now only sniffling as the last of his tears dripped onto your pajama top.

You whispered sweet nothings into his ear to comfort him as you gently laid him into bed, climbing in after he was settled.

You knew how badly Adam's death had shaken Eve, and you thanked your lucky stars you had been there for him.

"Th...thank you," Eve whispered as he lay with his head on your chest. "For staying with me."

You smiled softly at him, gently combing your fingers through his hair. "Of course," you said. "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."

The two of you stayed in that position for several minutes, making no noise except your steady breathing. It was like a lullaby to Eve, who honed in on your heartbeat.

When you awoke the next day (or what counted as the next day in this world of endless day), Eve was still peacefully slumbering.

It almost made you forget about the chain on your ankle.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now does the warning make sense? I see Eve being a happy-go-lucky guy but when Adam dies it changes; he becomes WAY more possessive of you and won't let you out of the copied city unless he is with you. He would most definitely try and physically restrain you with a chain, but he makes it up to you by making it a  long chain.

I can't see him enjoying that though, so when you've assured him that you will not in fact leave he'll free you (but don't break his trust! Just don't.)
