So back in 8th grade, I wrote a letter to myself in hopes high school me would read it
And I wanted to share it to you guys.

Dear Evan Tran,

This is your past self writing! I hope things have turned out alright for you about now. Hopefully you're alive and well, breathing and eating well.

If you are alive, then I'm proud. And I hope you've been doing well! High school sounds hard from here, but if you pulled through then I'm proud. Be proud of yourself.

Anyway, I hope things have been well where you are. I hope mom is okay and J and D have been okay to you. Or us. I know things have been hard from where I am, but hopefully things have gotten a bit better from where you are. I hope things are okay, I hope things will be okay.

I hope you are proud of being yourself. Have you met people that have accepted who you are? I don't believe it would be like what happened in 8th grade when you made that post. Do you remember that? Where you came out to the entire grade about being Pan and Trans? Everyone was so kind, calling you brave for posting about that. It was incredible, and hopefully that happened in high school too. I mean, probably not but I hope you found a little group that likes you for you. And hopefully, the person that loves you accepts you too.

Also, I hope you're still that musical nerd at heart. It's been all Dear Evan Hansen and Be More Chill right now, mainly Dear Evan Hansen though. But I hope you are discovering more and more musicals that keep you going, because back here almost all of our favorite musical songs are pretty depressing.

Remember, if you are losing hope, if you feel like you are alone or everyone has abandoned you, if you are losing your reason to love yourself. Do not worry. Someone will come running and you WILL be found.

I wrote this when I was in a bad spot, so I'm very happy that I'm doing much better
And I'm happy I wrote this.
It's like a little time capsule
Maybe I can do this more often, just something that'll bring me up every once in a while
