The next day I wake up, early enough for me to get ready and swing by my local coffee shop. I put on a black turtle neck along with some black pants and to top it off some blue dress shoes and then I head out the door. I sit now in a coffee shop, in a table for two and I'm just going through my phone checking for emails. I have an email from Daniel. As I have my head down I hear some one slip into the chair right across from me. I look up and it's him.

"Quentin?" I ask as I put my phone down "I see you thought about it and you came" I smile at him and he smiles back.

"Course I did and I thought maybe I should have just said yes" he went on a bit and he held a drink in his hand.

"Now I didn't quite catch your name" Beck said before taking a drink of his coffee.

"My name is Edith Glass", I say with a soft smile "but instead of calling me Glass just call me Edith" I explain.

"So what is it that you do?" Beck asks before finally finishing his drink.

I look at the time on my phone before I answer him, "I specialize in managing our tech at the office, I'm like the manager of our computer systems and I work with Stark, well used too" I explain and I look back up at him "and what do you do?" I ask.

He takes a second before he responds, like he was thinking of what to say "I explained during the meeting yesterday, didn't I? Where are those notes you wrote down" he said with a sweet smile and I was totally caught off guard.

"oh I, I see what you did there" All I remember from the meeting was that I was just staring at him the entire time and thats exactly what I'm doing now. His bright blue eyes glistened as he seemed to gaze right back at me. I look away feeling a bit flustered and I drink from my cup to hide my face from him.

"You know what, maybe we should do this again sometime. I was thinking we could have lunch or dinner on Saturday, would you be up for that?" He asked as he got up from his seat.

I looked back up at him "we should have dinner at 8, I'll walk there" I responded quickly with confidence "let me see your phone real quick" I held my hand out and Beck handed his phone over. I was hoping he got the idea of what I was doing as I put my number in.
"Here, just text me where you want to go Saturday" I handed his phone back and he seemed a little surprised.

I got up from my seat and then I left, just like that.

I went to work and then again I walk back home, it's 7pm and I'm walking to my apartment. As soon as I return back home, I throw myself on my sofa and look at my phone. All day I have ignored it just for this one moment. I get a text from Quentin.

'We can meet up at Orchards, Saturday'

I smiled with excitement but I sat up. No no no I couldn't be this happy over a text, but I was. I lay back down onto the sofa. I gazed at the text, I think I like this guy.

'Call it a date'

a text I soon reply with but I read it once more in my head.
Wait, I shouldn't have sent that.
I groan with a bit of frustration, I'm acting silly.
I get up and I leave my phone on the sofa. I walked into my bedroom and got dressed into something comfortable before going back to the sofa and grabbing my phone.
I have a couple of messages.
They're from Daniel.

'I'm going to need you to come in on Saturday'
'It's going to be an all day thing, it's about Tony'

Oh I'll get out before 9.
Nope

'9pm, I need you Edith' was the last text he sent and there is still no response from Quentin.

I bring my phone with me to bed, I lay there and stare at the message I sent to Beck.
A couple of minutes pass by and then I see that he is typing. I watch with a bit of anxiety hoping that what I said wasn't too weird but it wasn't. He responded.

'I can pick you up'
'I wouldn't want you to walk'

I sighed looking at these messages, work is very important to me and I couldn't throw it all away for a date.

'I actually don't think I'll be able to make it, would Sunday work?' I reply.
I see that he reads it
'I won't be in town'
Oh well maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
'Why not?' I ask

'I'll be in Venice but don't worry about it. When I come back I'll take you Orchards and we can continue where we left off'
he responded and I felt my heart light up.
