Chapter Twenty-Five

Fair warning: Things gonna get a lil spicy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I stood in Barry's lab along with Cisco, Caitlin, Barry, and Joe as we all stared at the decayed corpse on the table.

"This isn't possible." Caitlin said as Cisco walked up to her, showing her the iPad.

"I ran the DNA test twice, Caitlin." Cisco said as I shook my head in disbelief. Was it really true? "It's a perfect match."

"This can't be real." I said, walking over to the glowing table. I felt Barry's hand squeeze mine as I continued to stare at the decaying body.

"This is the real body of Harrison Wells." Joe said as everyone surrounded the table. I choked out a cry of disbelief.

"E-Everything we have done for him. . . Everything he has done for us. . . Was it all just a lie?" I asked, looking up at Barry, who had complete betrayal written on his face.

"If this is the real body of Harrison Wells. . ." Cisco said, turning to Caitlin. "Who have we been working with this whole time?"

"Dr. McGee said after the accident Wells changed into a completely different person. . ." Caitlin muttered.

"That's because he was." I finished as everyone slowly nodded, succumbing to the truth.

It was true. The real Harrison Wells was dead, laying before us in a burnt mess, decaying alone next to a highway.

Who was the Harrison Wells we grew to trust?

"Cisco what is this?" I asked as we all stood by the monitors.

"After the accelerator exploded, I built a 3D model of S.T.A.R. Labs so I could pinpoint what caused the malfunction." Cisco answered as Barry frowned.

"And you never ran a test?" He asked as Cisco shrugged.

"Of course I did. I just never had a reason to look at any areas... outside of the pipeline or the cortex." Cisco replied as I sighed.

"It's a big building. Plenty of places for this imposter to hide something." I said as everyone nodded.

"What is that?" Caitlin asked as she pointed at the screen, where a small rectangular area glowed and beeped.

"That shouldn't be there." Cisco said as he stood up, all of us following him as we ran to where the room was.

"Barry I don't trust this." I muttered as I felt his hand snake into mine again, ending with me squeezing it tightly.

"I'm picking up more activity around here. . . Tachyons." Cisco said as I released my hand from Barry, allowing him to feel the wall.

Something inside my mind triggered, like major deja-vu, but I quickly suppressed it as an opening in the wall appeared, startling Barry.

"Before we enter. I need to tell you all something." Cisco said as we all turned to him. "I've been. Having these dreams. But they feel so real. Like they happened."

"What happens in the dreams, Cisco?" I ask as his eyes start to water, turning to me.

"We were working on the containment cell for the Reverse Flash. . . And Dr. Wells says he's the reverse flash and- and. . . He kills us." I felt my heart stop as I turned to Barry, who remained speechless as his hand snatched mine, like he was afraid to let it go.

"W-we can talk about this later. I need to know what's in here." Cisco said as all of us nodded, walking in as the room lit up to reveal a brail-like pattern on the wall.

"What the frak?" Cisco said as we all stepped in.

"Oh my god. . . Barry look-" I said as me, Caitlin, and Barry stared at the suit of the Reverse Flash.

"T-there's no way. . ." Caitlin muttered.

"You think there's no way for that? Take a look at this." Cisco said as we all turned our heads to see a news article.

April 25th, 2024
Flash Missing: Vanishes in Crisis

"After an epic street battle with the Reverse-Flash, our city's very own Scarlet Speedster disappeared in an explosion of light." Barry read as I squeezed his hand, feeling warm tears prick my eyes.

"Barry look at the date." Caitlin muttered as we all read the date.

"2024?" I said as Barry furrowed his brows.

"Guys, when I fought The Reverse-Flash at Christmas, he said that we'd be fighting for centuries." Barry said as I now furrowed my brows.

"You guys said nothing happened when I was in my coma." I spat, glaring at Cisco who gave me an apologetic look.

"Wait, you can't really think that this is from... the future." Caitlin said as Barry nodded.

"That would means Dr. Wells, or whoever he is, is also... From the future." I said as he nodded again.

"Cora look. It's the suit you showed me." Cisco said as I looked at Barry's suit.

"No way. . ." I said with the faintest smile. "Looks better than I thought it would." Cisco let out the smallest chuckle as he nodded.

"This is so trippy." Cisco said as I scoffed.

"Like, Marty and the Polaroid trippy." I said as Cisco's eyes widened.

"Not as trippy as the name on the byline." He muttered as everyone looked at the name, a faint smile staying behind my cold face.

"Daisy. . . Allen?" Barry turned to look down at me, a confused look on his face as my eyes widened.

"Mazel tov?" Cisco said, raising a brow. I don't understand. I haven't been a reporter since the highschool newspaper.

"Hebrew. Ancient language of the Jewish people." Everyone yelped, jumping as we looked around.

"Woah! Who's there?" I called out. No answer.

"Hello?" Barry asked, a blank face appearing where the news article once was.

"Good evening Barry Allen." The A.I said as everyone raised their brows.

"I-uh.. h-hi. You know who I am?" Barry asked as the head nodded.

"Of course. Barry Allen, director of Central City Police, CSI Division."

"Director?" Barry said, turning to us.

"Guess you get a promotion." Cisco added.

"Also known as The Flash. Founding member of-." The AI unit said, alerting everyone.

"What are you?" Barry asked, cutting the ai off.

"I am Gideon." It said as I let out a gasp.

"That- That's my father's name. And-And it looks like my mother?" I said as Barry turned to me, raising a brow.

"You know Doctor Wells?" Barry asked.

"Yes."

"Do you know who he really is?"

"I don't understand the question."

"I-I mean what is he doing here? Why is he here?" The A.I. now showed to be a full body, a smile on its blank face as it answered blatantly.

"To kill you."

After we escaped before Wells could find us, and we had quite the long discussion about what the fuck just happened, Barry and I went back to my apartment, where I paced in the kitchen.

"I-I don't even know what to tell you Barry I mean you marry someone you don't even know and-"

"Actually um... theres this girl I knew in elementary school named Daisy... she moved away a long time ago. Haven't seen her since. It's... weird to think that I'm going to marry someone I haven't seen in almost 20 years."

"I may have forgotten to mention that Dr. Wells appeared in my apartment again a while ago... with som things." I said as Barry frowned and crossed his arms.

"Well, I didn't forget to mention that he had threatened to kill me. But he already told me about several PHD's that I got in many different things. And then. . . He said he was from the future, but we know that now."

"Did you ask for proof?" Barry asked as I slowly nodded.

"He showed me the article and a photo. But something was different.. It-It had Iris's name on it as ..." I trailed off for a moment as I stepped closer to Barry, sitting down on the chair next to him.

"Her name was Iris West-Allen." I said as Barry breathed out a near silent gasp. "You married Iris and I... I... I married Eddie. But I don't even see Eddie that way. He's Iris boyfriend and my friend. I don't want to change it at all because I'm with you and I love you.. so much." I said as Barry nodded, taking his hand in mine.

"Look, Cora. . . We've known each other for a little close to a year, and I fell for you in less than a month. Before that, I had feelings for Iris ... the girl I grew up with but when I met you. . . I just. Something clicked in my mind and told me Iris wasn't the one for me." Barry said as he took his hands in mine, my cheeks going bright red.

"You are the one I want to be with, wether the future says we are or not, I know we were going to last." He said as I smiled, biting my tongue before I added a sarcastic comment.

"If you don't end up singing anything really cheesy like how we have gone through hell and back or how I'm your home or something when you propose I'm dumping you on the spot." I joked as Barry gave me a questioning look before he started to laugh too.

"I guess I'll have to find the right song then. And there is another thing you should know, Cora." Barry said as I raised a brow.

"You aren't just my home, you're my lightning rod." That is really cute but also really weird and I love it. I thought to myself with a wholesome smile.

I chuckled quietly before I stood up. I leaned in towards Barry, pressing my lips to his as his hand snaked around the back of my neck.

He slowly stood up as I turned around, leaning against the kitchen island as Barry towered over me, both hands now around my neck as my arms wrapped around his torso.

Barry's hands trailed down to my hips as I jumped up, his hands quickly grabbing the back of my thighs as my legs instinctively wrapped around Barry's waist.

He carried me to my bedroom, not daring to break the long kiss as his tongue slipped down my throat, a feeling of euphoria coursing through my veins, my mind exploding with affection and joy as Barry dropped onto the bed, his body laying above mine.

"Barry-" I gasped as I craned my neck while he kissed it gently, his tongue swirling around as he sucked il and down my neck.

My hands felt their way to his hair, messing with it as a smile crept up to my face, which had also been burning as much as the rest of my body.

I gasped again, feeling Barry's hand vibrate on my hip. "Jesus!" I yelped as Barry stopped, looking up at me with wide eyes before I let out a laugh.

"S-" Barry stopped before he could apologize, cracking a smile as he chuckled. "G-Guess I just got excited." I bit my bottom lip as I snickered, pulling Barry up into a kiss before pulling away, yawning.

"Tired already? It's only 7." Barry said as I shrugged, pulling him to the pillow as I huddled up next to him.

"Didn't sleep last night after I woke up from the coma. Felt like I could run around Central City. Especially after finding out I may be a meta. . ." I muttered trailing off as I looked up to Barry, frowning.

"Jesus you fall asleep faster than my dead grandma." I said as I smiled, craning my neck to kiss his jawline before resting my head on Barry's chest, shutting my eyes and letting Mr. Sandman do his job.
