Chapter 32: Choices

"Choices are the hinges of destiny."

                                               -Edwin Markham

Jin's chest heaved with numerous heavy breaths as he marched his way through the palace, out of the rain. His eyes were filled with unshed tears that threatened to roll down his cheek at any given moment. His hands were shaking as flashes of what he had witnessed began to replay over and over again in his mind.

A soft sob escaped his lips, causing his hand to snap up to cover his mouth, eyes squeezing shut as he struggled to contain his own emotions.

He should have told you the truth. He shouldn't have pretended that he didn't know who you were.

He thought that you would be happier without him, that your life would be simple and better if you didn't have him constantly weighing you down...but now he knew that he had made a mistake...

His actions had pushed you into the arms of another man.

The worst part was that he couldn't blame anyone but himself. He couldn't be angry with Hoseok and he couldn't be angry with you.

A single tear rolled down Jin's cheek as he recalled the scene. He could see the passion that radiated from the kiss between the two of you, he noticed the way Hoseok looked at you and he noticed the way he held you.

It was painful.

But what could he do?

Should he run to you and tell you everything? Should he tell you that he remembers and that he knows who you are? Should he tell you that he still loves you with all of his heart? Should he ask you to stay away from Hoseok?

Seokjin sighed.

No. He couldn't do any of that. Not after what he saw. He knew that Hoseok was comforting you as you went through the pain he had caused and he couldn't be angry because of that.

Even if Jin was hurting...he was happy that you hadn't been going through this time alone. Knowing that you had some support was comforting.

He just wished that he had told you the truth sooner.

"Jin?"

Speak of the devil.

Your blue eyes studied the man before you with caution, gaze trailing over his muscular figure, which was wet from the rain.

Seokjin didn't move when the sweet sound of your voice filled his ears. He couldn't move.

His eyes slowly closed, his shoulders slumping as more tears slowly began to roll down his pale cheek.

Your brows furrowed at the lack of response, head tilting to the side as you observed him.

After the kiss with Hoseok, you had told him you were going to go to sleep and he only nodded sadly before leaving you to your own emotions.

You still had no idea what to think about the entire situation.

Jung Hoseok was a good man and he cared about you vigorously. He was your friend and confidant...but you didn't have romantic feelings towards him...and you think he knew that...

It hurt you to watch him break into pieces because of you...you hated being the reason he was upset...but you weren't going to lie to him...You were in love with Jin...and that wasn't going to change.

"Are you alright?" You asked softly.

The former spirit remained still, his eyes never leaving the rain that poured all around the two of you.

Your hand hesitantly moved out to touch him.

Your fingertip brushed against his hand, causing a slight warmth to emit from you.

Jin's eyes snapped open at the feeling of your skin on his, his body jerking around to face you in one swift motion.

Your blue eyes went wide as Jin's hand gripped your wrist, pulling your body closer to his own.

A soft gasp left your lips as you took in the sight of his pale, tear-stained cheeks and his soft eyes that were filled with sadness and regret.

Jin brought you closer, his eyes searching your for any kind of reaction.

"Wh-What are you doing?" You stuttered out, heart pounding.

Seokjin didn't know exactly what to say in that moment. Numerous scenarios and words flashed through his mind, endless questions and worries beginning to pile up at he stared down at your shocked expression.

He swallowed as his gaze slowly trailed to your full, parted lips.

"I'm going to kiss you, Y/n."

Without giving you any time to process his words, Seokjin planted his lips on yours.

You let out a small sound of shock against his lips, causing him to pull you even closer to him, his arm wrapping around your waist, while his free hand tangled in your h/l, h/c locks.

You found yourself beginning to melt into the kiss, your hands trailing up his broad chest and your arms wrapping around his neck as you returned his affection.

So many emotions and questions were rushing through you and, in the back of your mind, you knew that you should probably listen to the voice that was telling you that this was a bad idea, but you didn't want to.

For once, you wanted to be reckless and allow yourself to be happy without any repercussions.

The man you loved was kissing you.

That's all you wanted to focus on.

Jin let out a sound of approval as your fingers combed through his blond hair.

He jerked your body forward, causing your body to collide into his.

His hands left your hair, beginning to travel up and down your sides.

You hummed against him, allowing his hands to explore your figure as his mouth moved against yours.

Seokjin began to take initiative, mind getting lost in the moment as his lips left yours and began to trail down to your jaw, leaving soft kisses on the expanse of your neck.

You bit your lip, tilting your head back to give him more access to your clean, sexually unmarked skin.

His kisses began to evolve. He began to nip and lick at your skin, sucking a few dark spots onto your soft flesh.

Possessiveness began to flow through him as he marked you. He remembered the way Hoseok looked at you, the way his kissed you...the way he touched you...And he was determined to send the former warrior an extremely clear message.

A growl sounded from Jin as he began to make his marks darker and far more noticeable, determination beginning to fuel him.

Don't get the wrong idea. He wasn't marking you to show Hoseok who you belonged to...because he knew that you didn't belong to anyone...he was marking you to show Hoseok how much he cared about you..he was marking you to let him know that, while Jin would accept whatever decision you made....He wasn't going to let you go without a fight.

"J-Jin,"

Your soft whimper pulled Jin from his thoughts, his chest heaving as he moved his lips back to yours, giving you numerous pecks and kisses.

"I remember." He said between kisses. "I remember everything, Y/n."

Your eyes widened at his words, stomach dropping to the ground.

"R-Really?" You asked.

He nodded his head, slowly pulling away from you, arms wrapping around your waist.

"Yes." He breathed. "I-I remember meeting you by the lily pond. I remember picking on you constantly. I remember holding you when you broke your hand. I remember falling in love with you."

You couldn't think of any words that would fully express how happy you were at that moment. You couldn't think of any kind of phrase or even one-worded sentences as you stared at him.

You felt giddy and happy, especially since now you knew that your Jin was the one kissing you...not the Jin that had no idea who you were.

A quiet laugh left your lips, a blissful feeling washing over you.

"Y-You know me!" You exclaimed happily. "You know who I am!"

Jin chuckled, a little thrown by your reaction.

"Yes." He said. "I know who you are, princess."

Happy tears sprung to your eyes as your arms wrapped around him, pulling him into a tight hug.

Jin sighed in contentment, burying his face in your hair as he returned your embrace, a large smile etched onto his handsome features.

A strange calmness flooded through him as he inhaled your sweet scent.

Everything about this moment felt right to him. He knew that he should always hold you in his arms. He knew that the two of you were meant to meet one another. He knew that no matter what...he was going to protect you and make sure you were always safe.

"I missed you." You mumbled against his chest.

He smiled softly at your child-like tone, hands petting your soft h/c locks.

"I missed you too." He stated honestly, placing a chaste kiss to your hair. "So, so much."

Slowly, the two of you pulled apart, eyes never leaving each other.

It was as though Jin's brief time away from you had awoken something deep within the both of you-a realization of some sort.

He loved you.

You loved him.

Neither of you had to say it...because you both knew.

But in that moment..you couldn't help but think of the other worlds you had left behind-the other en you had left behind.

Yoongi.

Taehyung.

You were seriously beginning to grow sick of leaving.

But the problem was...You still had no idea where you should go.

You had no idea who you loved...and it was frustrating.

You wished more than anything that you could just fall in love one time and get it over with...but it didn't work like that. It never worked like that..

So, the harsh reality was...

At some point...you are going to have to make a decision...

But, who will you choose?

A/N,

I am so sorry that this update took so long to write. I've been busy this week, but I swear I'll try to do better.

I know this isn't the best chapter, but it's what I could manage at this moment.

Don't even start with all the "you need to rest" stuff, because I won't have it! You guys have always been my top priority and I am not about to change that just because of college.

I seriously love you guys.

I love you.

I adore you.

I purple you.

I'm out!

-Max
