Chapter 3

Anxiety curled in my stomach. That can't be Sadie.. I thought. I followed the stench, gagging a little.

My eyes widened in shock as I spotted blood splattered everywhere on the grass and bark of the trees.

"(Y/N).." A weak voice called to me. It was so quiet I thought it was just my imagination. But it wasn't. Sadie's limp and torn up form was splayed out on the blood-soaked grass.

I shifted back into my human, gasping in surprise.

"Who did this to you?" I asked in horror as I rushed up to her. Her stomach was completely torn, her face almost unrecognizable from the amount of blood.

    She didn't respond.

"Jeff! Toby!" I called, beginning to pick Sadie up bridal style.

"I'm here!" Jeff called back after a second. I struggled to keep hold Sadie's limp body.

"I found her! She's hurt." I could hear Jeff's footsteps approaching me.

"What happened?" Jeff asked, running up to help me. He took her off my arms and held her. For some reason I didn't like that, but I pushed the feeling away.

"I don't know, but we need to get her back before it's too late." I said quickly, already making my way to the mansion as swiftly as possible. Blood was trickling down my arms, my shirt permanently stained red.

"Toby!" I called, desperate to get an answer. Relief flooded through me as Toby responded.

    "D-did you-"

"We found her. Meet us back at the mansion and hurry!" I said urgently, cutting off whatever he was going to say.

"I don't think she'll make it." Jeff said in a grim tone from behind me.

I picked up the pace, refusing to believe the sh*t coming from Jeff's mouth.

I bursted from the woods, sprinting up to the mansion door and pushing the door open with such a force the hinges cracked slightly.

"Get Slenderman." I demanded to whoever was in the kitchen.

"What happened?" Clockwork gasped, her eyes widening.

    "EJ, get Slender." Jeff growled.

EJ just sighed and got up, walking down the hall to get Slenderman. He didn't seem in any hurry at all.

Just take your sweet time. I thought bitterly.

Jeff laid Sadie down, and I dropped to my knees beside her to try and find the worst wound.

I touched her ribs, and sure enough a few were broken. But I was no doctor so I wasn't sure. Her chest had a couple long gashes that stretched to her stomach, but they weren't too deep. Her knee was blown and the entire left part of her face was covered in scratches.

Her stomach was torn, looking nothing like a stab wound. I saw a few punctures on her shoulders, as if someone jabbed needles into them.

"It doesn't look like a person attacked her." I said, even thought that was quite obvious and it was probably what everyone else was thinking.

I was almost certain she wouldn't make it by the looks of her. Sadness clenched at my stomach from the thought.

"All the monsters in this forest are dumb*sses. There is no way there is a monster that's smart enough to grab her away without her alerting us." Jeff replied, leaning onto the wall behind me. I was about to say something else but got interrupted.

"Let me handle Sadie." Slenderman's loud voice boomed from behind. I jumped, slightly startled. I shuffled out of the way and got up.

Slender gingerly picked her up. She looked so.. gruesome. It was horrible to look at. I turned my head away, unable to stomach the sight.

Slender disappeared, and I slowly shifted my gaze to the couch that was soaked in blood.

"Th-there's no-no wa-way sh-she survive-d." Toby stuttered from the door. I didn't notice him there in the moment of silence.

I shook my head, sighing sadly. Jeff moved up beside me and leaned over to whisper something in my ear.

"Wanna go look for the thing that got her?" Jeff asked quietly. Every time he got close to me it reminded me of... the time we almost.. well...

A chill shot up my spine, but I responded anyway.

"I bet ya we would get kidnapped or something." I joked. He chuckled.

"I mean with your luck we would." Jeff said more seriously. It was true, though.

"Whatever, but yeah let's go." It was weird that literally only twenty minutes before he tackled me and was about to slit my throat.

But that's just how Jeff was wired. He went ahead and got outside, but I stared at the spot where Slender disappeared.

That dumb*ss monster is gonna die.
