I sat at home, watching Tv.

A usual night in to myself after putting y/d/n (Your daughters name) to bed.

Caleb and I had her 4 years ago, she was beautiful, she had her dads eyes.

Caleb was off working, he was away a lot, but he loved his job.

I go up and made myself a bowl of cereal, nothing special, but it was a snack.

I watched the tv until I found myself falling asleep.

A couple of hours later I was woken up to a phone call 

It was my best friend, y/bf/n.

"Hey" I said in my sleepy voice.

"Turn on your TV, now!" she cried

"What's going on?" I asked

My Tv was already on 

"What channel?" I asked 

"Any news channel" she cried

I turned it on

"Breaking news, the deepwater horizon oil rig has exploded, we are still unsure about the cause, here is a live feed from our reporter who is currently flying above the area" The reporter spoke

"Holy fuck, shit, no, no" I panicked knowing Caleb was on there

"Have you heard from Caleb?" y/bf/n asked

"No, I haven't spoken to him all weekend" I told her

"Try and call him, I'll text you" she said ending the phone

I instantly went to Caleb's number calling him, but it went straight to voicemail

"Caleb, please tell me you are safe, tell me your okay" I cried down the phone before ending it

"FUCK!" I yelled

I carried on watching the news.

The rig was in complete flames, there were people in the water, and people still on the ring

"Please be okay" I whispered

"Mummy?" it was y/d/n

"Baby, what are you doing up?" I asked walking over to her, not letting her see the TV

I wiped my eyes, not letting her see me cry

"I heard you yell" she said as I walked her into her bedroom

"Sorry sweetheart." I smiled 

I tucked her back into bed.

"When is daddy going to home?" she asked 

"Very soon" I said, begging that he was going to leave that rig alive

"Go back to sleep hunny" I smiled, placing a kiss on her head

"I love you" she smiled

"I love you too" I said closing the door.

I muffled my mouth and fell to the floor gently, not to cause alarm to y/d/n, crying.

I knew that he was smart, I knew he would die without a fight. he wouldn't leave us if he knew he didn't have to.

I went back downstairs and sat in front of the TV.

"5 confirmed deaths with 7 injured, no identities have been release, we are currently in communications with the near by resume teams who are also in contact with the people on the rig" The reporter said 

"You better not be one of those 5" I begged 

I kept watching, the fire was no slowing down.

"Fuck" I sighed again 

"We have received another update, all of the remaining workers are off of the rig, we have no more updates, that's it for tonight's new, see you again" the reporter smiled.

And that was it.

My phone rang it was Felicia, Mikes wife, Caleb's colleague.

"Hello" I practically yelled down the phone

"Hey, have you heard from Caleb?" she asked 

"No, Mike?" I asked

"No, but they are taking them to a hospital, the workers that got out, it's in Mexico" she told me 

"When are they going to be there?" I asked, already walking up to any room and packing a bag, not knowing how long I was going to be there for, I also grabbed a change of clothes for Caleb, that was because he had to be alive.

"Tonight, we can go and see them as soon as we want" she told me

"When are you leaving, in a minute" she told me 

"Come here and let me follow you?" I asked, she lived up the road.

"Of course, see you in a minute" she told me before hanging up the phone.

I packed everything y/d/n and I would need for a few days.

I woke up y/d/n in the process, but it didn't matter as she would have to get up anyway.

"Were are we going?" she asked 

"Mexico" I smiled

"Why?" she asked 

I took a deep breath

"Okay, daddy was in a incident at work, he might be hurt, we need to go and see if he is okay" I smiled

"Okay" I smiled 

I grabbed our stuff and placed it in our car, Felicia turned up and I placed y/d/n in her booster.

"You okay?" she asked coming over hugging me 

"Yeah, I think" I sighed 

"Let's get going" she smiled 

It was currently 12pm

"I am sooooo excited to see daddy" y/d/n smiled in the back of the car

"I know sweetheart me too" I smiled "Now try and sleep, the drive is a few hours" I nodded

She smiled before closing her eyes, it not taking her long to fall asleep, I tried Caleb's number again.

But still no answer.

The car ride was long and tiring, but we soon arrived in Mexico.

I followed Felicia into the car park.

I was 8 am, we had stopped twice to get some shut eye, not wanting to fall asleep on the road.

"You okay?" she asked as her and her daughter walked up to us.

We both nodded, exhausted.

"Let's go" she said nervously 

Outside the hospital, there were hundreds of reporters and camera men.

We walked through them before knocking on the window.

"Can I help you?" the doctor yelled through the glass.

"Yeah, our husbands were on the deepwater horizon oil rig, we want to know if they are okay" I yelled back 

"If you can give me there names I can let you" he yelled holding a clipboard, which I was guessing was the name of those still alive 

"Caleb Holloway" I yelled

"Mike Williams" Felicia yelled back

He nodded before letting us in.

"Please tell me you knowing there names means they are alive" I begged 

"They are, Mrs Williams, your husband is in a room this way, he is family injured, just remember to be patient, Mrs Holloway, your husband is okay, a few cuts, bruises and burns, he is mostly in shock right now" he explained as we followed him down a hallway

He knocked on a door before opening it to reveal Caleb.

"Oh my god" I said relieved walking to him with y/d/n as the doctor closed the door behind us 

"Hey, it my beautiful girls" he smiled

Not even now, he doesn't let y/d/n see his pain

She ran and smiled towards her father, hugging him.

"Hey gorgeous" he said smiling at me.

He walked over and engulfed me in a hug before kissing me on the lips.

"I'm so glad you are okay" I cried 

"Im okay darling" he smirked before kissing me again

"Please, next time you get a job, make sure it doesn't explode" I sighed in all seriousness

"I wont babe, I am going to spend some time with my favourite girls for a while" he said picking y/d/n up

"Yayyy" she smiled as she hugged us both.

"I love you" I cried at Caleb 

"I love you more" he smiled
