Kayla Seltzer-Sharp x reader

As Flash ignored Kayla when her mum called, you set a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Love... I heard it all. Do you wanna... talk?"

With her eyes filled to the brim with tears, she wrapped her arms around your waist in a tight embrace. "Please."

You gently held her head against your neck; you felt warm tears running down your neck. "Kay... no, what's wrong?"

She sniffled as she pulled away and she wiped her nose. "We- re moving. Dad's sick. A- and we're going to Crown Lake."

You held her face between your hands, "And Flash?"

"I guess we're still going to be together, but it's very hard to do when all he does is use his phone and not listen to important things," she shrugged

"Like this."

"Yeah. I just don't want to break up with him... My only other reason is stupid."

"What is it?"

"Never mind," she turned away.

You grabbed her hand and held it. "Kayla. I can be better than Flash. I'd hug you, I'd kiss you, I'd hold your hand, I'd listen to you and you'd have all my attention no matter what." You looked up at the ceiling. 

Kayla grabbed your chin and made you look at her. "Yeah, what about that? You have the attention span of a goldfish."

The red of a cherry could never compare to the redness of your face, "But I'm your goldfish."

The raven-haired girl laughed and brushed it off. "Not until I break up with Flash. Let me stay with him a little longer."

Your eyes became slightly a bit more gentle as your heart broke a little. "Of course- yeah, yeah. I'll wait for you."

She asked, "Promise," as she stuck out her pinky finger.

You mirrored her, "Promise."
