The Beginning of Madness

Light shone into the long grey corridor, and particles of dust were visible in the light. Pillars that usually supported the hall were now either cracked or completely toppled over and in pieces.

Only one man stood in the desolate hall, and he didn't move an inch, for he knew what would happen soon and what'd he'd have to do. His mind wandered however back to how this all began.

The crunch of snow could be heard through the abandoned town as someone walked through with a pair of black boots, and this person seemed to be calling out for someone.

"Sorin! Sorin where are you? It's not safe out here!"

The person in question happened to be looking for their friend Sorin, but have had no luck finding him. They just felt the need to warn them of the danger of being outside when a murderer was on the loose in the underground.

"Oh Dammit! Where could he have gone off to?"

After a bit more maneuvering through the dense snow, they came across a solitary figure standing above something. The figure had their hood pulled over their head and their back facing away from the person who just arrived. To you however this person was just who you were looking for.

"Sorin! Thank Toriel your alright! It's not safe out here, we have to go-"

You halted mid-sentence however and stopped in your tracks after noticing several concerning things. One was the red splotches of blood, and what looked like dust as well, battered around Sorin's hoodie. What made your eyes widen in absolute horror however was the human body that lay dead still in the snow directly three feet away from Sorin.

"Oh my God! Sorin is that your sister? Why is Toma-"

You once again stopped mid-sentence and slowly trailed off with your words when he began to turn around and you finally got a good look at him. Blood and dust Stained his Brown hoodie like sauce on pizza crust, rips and tears were visible on the fabric as well, and the most disturbing part was his eyes.  .  .bloodshot and his pupils lost their black coloring for blood red.

"I needed the LV. . .I'll stop the human. . .won't you help me?"

You backed away in a mixture of shock and fear as he stepped closer. You tried to flee, but suddenly purple spikes surround you two like a giant arena with no way in or out. A sick grin crawled up his face as his eyes winded in glee of his new prey, for he found it you'd be assured prey.

"S-Stay back! I'm warning you Sorin!"

The man approached regardless of your warning as large dragon-like skull floated just above him and began to charge a blast in its mouth, the more the blast grew, the larger Sorin's grin became. His maniacal laughter began to echo in your head as you held it in both of your hands, constantly saying-

"Shut up! Shut up! This isnt real! This isn't real THIS ISN'T REAL!!"

Suddenly . . .it all stopped. The laughing came to a halt after you had unknowingly thrust your right hand forward, but once you looked at what your hand had done your eyes winded. Two spikes impaled through Sorin. One going directly through his abdomen, and the other through his skull and out the other end. Blood leaked from multiple locations, staining his hoodie more crimson than brown now as he fell to the  ground motionless and the giant dragon skull shattered into shards of bone before falling to the snowy ground.

"O-Oh my God! OH MY GOD!!"

You rushed to man's side and tried to see if you could do anything at all to save your friend and teacher, but once you put your fingers to his wrist to check for a pulse. . .not a single pulse came. Sorin's body rapidly began disintegrating in your arms due to the large amount of LV he had collected. Karma came for his debt by destroying his body. Toma's was gone as well. You held the blood stained hoodie in your arms as you starred up to the rocky ceiling of the underground before something echoed in your mind.

"I'll stop the human."

Sorin's words echoed in your head as you slowly came to a realization that made you begin to laugh. Before it became full on hysterical laughter as you looked to the heavens above, and your LV increased to LV 6. Your eyes gained the same blood Red coloring Sorin's had gained, and two purple and (your favorite color inserted here) flashed inside of the red. You swore at that moment that you'd make the Human pay.

No matter the cost.

Your reflection on memory ended their as your eyes narrowed as you saw a figure standing at the end of the hall. You knew it was finally time, and you were ready. You checked your stats one final time before they got to your position.

You let out a held breath and knew that it was now or never. You didn't kill them all for nothing, and it was time to face the demon. When they finally stopped a few feet from you they gripped their knife tightly as you groaned out-

"let's just get to the damn point."

The area turned to black as your forced them into a battle, although it felt more like they were forcing you into it. You decided to use the "speech" you prepared, and began.

"here we are. just you and me. standing here with only the intention of killing each other and everyone we ever loved."

The freak show of a human flipped their knife in anticipation and excitement at a new challenge, but you knew they were about to get a hell of a lot more than they bargained for.

"but who said you'd be the one to finish the job?. . . nobody did."

Your eyes locked onto theirs as you glared at them, but a large grin came to your face as you summoned your Sickles to both of your hands, gripping the handles with quite the force.

"I'LL MAKE SURE I'M THE ONLY ONE FINISHES THIS JOB!!"

The battle began, and the human was about to make the first swing. . .before a rift opened up and a black goopy tentacle like thing wrapped around the humans waist and pulled them through said rift as they didn't even have the time to scream. Your eyes winded in shock, and your jaw slacked as that part of you that lay deeply buried in the bloodshed you committed, and was the side of you that still believed in them broke through for a long enough moment for you to shout-

"KID!"

Before you could approach the rift, a goopy black figure walked out, followed by three skeletons. Your eyes stayed winded as the three skeletons behind the figure all looked an awful lot like-

"Sans?!"

The expressions of the four didn't change much from that, and the three behind the goopy one didn't exactly seem to be in the best of shape. One had a large piece of his skull missing, and only a singular red eye glared back at you. The next had black liquid leaking from his eye sockets, and an almost target like thing on his chest area. The final one got you the most however for his entire jacket was coated in dust, and his eyes were almost a perfect reflection of your own. Red outer with flashing inner. He seems to be the most similar to you by far, and the three behind the goopy one just seem to stare through you as if they're bored.

The goopy skeleton? Approached you as you took a step back, but still gripped you indigo Sickles as they gave a ominous purple glow. A grin was on his face as he approached you, bit you quickly steeled your self as you felt a reassuring head on your shoulder as a familiar voice whispered to you-

"go on Y/N. your the most powerful out there now. this will be nothing to you."

You didn't let them see your shock, you didn't let them see your fear, instead you walked forward towards the goop covered skeleton and met him halfway. You both stopped before he spoke.

"Well well. Another Dust universe? How uninteresting, but what's this this? Swapped Roles? Perhaps a bit more interesting."

You grimaced at his deeper voice and his words, but out of the corner of your eye you could see the one that looks like you roll his eyes at this guy's words. The goopy one continued on however.

"Guess the multiverse is a small place after all. Can't be helped I suppose, but let's get to the point."

Your grip on the Sickles only grew stronger as you glared straight through him. He noticed you not being very trusting of him and his eyes narrowed just like yours as he continued.

"We're looking for more strong members to help us out, give us a helping hand, and I think your just what we need. Whadda ya say pal? Join us and our cause."

You didn't buy his bullshit for a damn second. If he could get rid of the human that easily then who knows what other things he could do, but you couldn't help but read the situation and feel hopeless. He brought three people of similar power here as backup. You felt closed into a corner with no way out.

You did the only reasonable thing you thought you could do at the moment and once he brought out his hand for a shake. . .you let go of one of your Sickles as it dropped to ground, you de-summoned it and its power returned you. You slowly and shakily reached your hand out to shake his before gripping his slimy hand with your own and shaking it. His grin only grew as before you could even say anything, your eyes noticed the dust covered one looking at you with pity as you were flung through the same rift that they came from. Before you were flung through however, the goopy one yelled-

"YOUR WORK STARTS NOW! YOU CAN CALL ME NIGHTMARE, AND THIS WILL BE YOUR INITIATION TEST!!"

You were sent tumbling through the rift and to a land unknown to you. The Initiation begins, next time.
