To safety

Everyone was walking at the same back now. From the blackness came noises no living thing could ever make. It perhaps was once alive but rendered into a spirit that contorted with pain, anger, hatred... As the silvery wisps curled in around the door frame the sounds intensified until they huddled with eyes wide, hands clamped over their ears, hearing everything nonetheless... The sound wound itself around their ears and began to change, like a terrible lullaby. Battlehawk froze, straining to listen against the ceaseless wind and crashing water. It was no language he knew, but it hissed as it spoke. Everyone tried to ignore whatever it was. The ghost's voice was like iron nails dragged over rock. It rose and fell, never once making the words audible. Then the eyes that had been as white as the naked body turned to black and the mouth stretched wide in an eternal scream. John ordered everybody to stop and they listen.
- Do you see that?
Omega turned around and carefully looked into the distance.
- Oh no. Just what what needed...
John loaded his gun as he hid behind a tombstone.
- It's the fastest way. Besides... we have reasons to fear that alive than death.
The boughs of the cemetery twist like contorted bones, writhing in a silent scream. Beneath them lie the cold stones, each marking a dwelling place in which no-one is home. The citizens who live near by are never bothered by the howl of the wind until they must traverse this place, then it's all they can hear. They passed the cemetery and found themselves besides a road. The road lay before them like a tarmac one that had been worn over time. A white line ran down the center, relatively unbroken compared to the scarred and potholed concrete. Under their steady watch the cream brickwork brought a nostalgic feeling, notions of romance under rainy skies. The road itself had that well-loved appearance, the traffic of decades having passed over it. This was a street where real life had been, the turning of skipping ropes and shrieks of children. Bob let his hand touch the bricks, perhaps its abandonment was a temporary thing, that the universe would bring the joy back this place. All these disasters are destroying Fortnite slowly... soon there will be nothing left.
Omega kept walking by John's side in silence. Everyone could tell there was a lot of tension between those two due to their pasts.
Even though everything looked empty till noises from a nearby building. A creature jumped in front of them. It was very human except for the head, it was very round and with a lot of paint on its face they couldn't tell what it was. The creature show off some moves as it was telling them to back off or it will fight it. Omega and John looked at each other. The green eyed alien raised one eyebrow as he said
- is that supposed to be aggression?
John put his weapon as he shrugged and continued walking. Arkady sniffed the creature, hit it with his left wing and kept walking.
Not 5 minutes passed till they notice that it was following them.
Omega turned around and trying to make eye contact with the odd creature. But he couldn't, the paint didn't let see anything of the face so he made it short and quick
- Uh... can i help you?
But he got no response. Omega was starting to lose his patience.
- Listen pal, this world is in danger and we need to get to safety. Either you tell me why you want or you can come back where you came from!
Leviathan stood close to him. Then Omega notice how similar their suits are. The round head wasn't a round head after all...
just to make sure Omega wiped off the paint and indeed. It was the same creature as leviathan.
- How?
Leviathan was amused.
-Uh why doesn't he... you know... talk?
The green eyed alien asked confused. Arkady gave a small growl confused as well.
- He might not have learn English, not the language from Hiraeth. Let me try something... I hope I'm not that rusty with my native language
Leviathan exchange a few words with the creature. While that was happening John made sure everyone was okay. It was long trip and the storm was way to easy to be normal. Once leviathan was done he turned around to look at Omega in shocked.
- What?
- Omega... um... he says there is a way to save us.
- Really? And what else because that look on your face isn't normal? You know for a mythical creature you are not very good at keeping secrets.
- Well... um... he told me he did not come alone... and the reason why he was following you was because he confused you with his master.
- What are you trying to say leviathan? There are more from Hiraeth?
- Yes... and not just anyone.
- Who?
- Your father
