Prison Break

Kamari could feel the cuffs digging into her wrists and rope around her ankles; her left cheek lay firmly in the muddy dust that coated the cold concrete floor. From a high window came rectangle of light, sending white beams to illuminate the grime and show the dust that swirled in the air. If she could reach it she could find out where she was. Even if she couldn't tell the exact location, even just knowing if she was still in Fortnite would be something. She strained her ears for sounds, for cars or for ships. Were there gulls or garden birds? Was this industrial or residential? Again she focused on the window, the frame was new but it wasn't the sort you could open. There must be ventilation shafts. She knew how to get her hands free, she just didn't relish doing it. Enough pressure in the right spot would break her thumb, then it would be time to check out and report in. Omega told Carbide all details about the prison. Now that the ideas were starting to knit together the blue eyed alien didn't mind the cold night draft nearly so much the longer he stayed awake the faster he could plot. It wasn't like he could miss the morning wake-up bell, clanging so loud he thought it was inside his head.
Carbide's POV
The place plunged into an ominous darkness, awakening predatory creatures out of their lair. I jumped as a distant bloodcurdling howl made my hair stand on end. I watched anxiously as the prison slowly transformed into a lethal playground. Walls, metal poles stretched out in front of me, forming a cavern of distorted limbs that seemed to reach out and grab my flesh. A vile pain spread throughout my chest like a deadly infection and my lungs beseeched me to stop walking. My knees felt like rubber after running constantly for hours and now I gulped selfish breaths of air. Inside that prison, I felt like a prisoner myself. Finally found Kamari. I put a cover around her I knew she would be cold. Her eyes were watery. She got scared with my gentle touch but realizing it was me she hugged me tightly as if it there's was no tomorrow.
End of Carbide's POV

Kamari's POV
Helpless, with the only help of Carbide he helped me get out of  awful prison... we jumped out of the prison wall onto what it seem a dark forest with very little houses full of cyborgs. I walked on, my feet dragging noisily on the carpet of lifeless leaves, each step triggering a rush of pain in my chest. In spite of my feeble condition, my lips curled into a smile as the realization that I had escaped finally struck me. I felt smug at my little victory, of course with the help of Carbide, I had really made it. I was free from the filthy clutches of the cruel prison. I was finally going home, a home whose wings had not yet been torn by the evil of the Underground City. Finally going home to my parents, my brother, my friends. A home still thriving, still breathing without restrictions, or so I hoped. Carbide was so careful and caring. He made sure I didn't get cold. I snuggled up placing my head near his chest.
End of Kamari's POV

Carbide was alert making sure those cyborgs didn't spot them. They hear noises behind them Carbide was ready to attack whatever was coming.
- Hey!
- Ahhh! Drift?
- Oh hey guys? Why are you two in a forest? And why is Kamari covering herself with a blanket? And why is Carbide not wearing his Armor? Ohhh I see what's going on. Well I'm going to head out this way and let y'all have sex
- What? We were not- Okay...
When the two of them were by some houses. Something covered Kamari's and Carbide's mouth. It was Omega and Oblivion in their armor. Omega whispered
- Shh follow us
Carbide and Kamari said nothing they just followed. When at last the four of them arrived to Omega's place, the house was a grey blur behind the rain-washed window. It was large, certainly, almost intimidatingly so. On climbing out it took a more detailed form, natural grey stone with all the hues mother nature can provide. The paintwork on the trim was brilliant white, flawless and the path wound to a double oak front door was loose pea shingle. The windows weren't the large ones that are so fashionable now. But that's where all the old world charm ended, once across the threshold it was technology and modern design all the way. The floors were polished concrete and the furniture scandinavian, high end designers only. The only compromise to comfort was the sheepskin on the floor, so clean it was hard to believe anyone had ever stepped foot on it. Carbide put his armor back on. Like omega, he felt safer in it. Kamari didn't want to feel left out she put on the Criterion armor as well. There they were, Omega, Oblivion, Carbide and Criterion. Leviathan observed them for a few seconds then he spoke
- Omg! This is sooo sweet, my babies finally grew and now they have girlfriends!
- Say what now?
- Look, even your names start with the same letter Omega Oblivion, O+O and Carbide and Criterion, C+C isn't so amazing?
Everyone else felt very awkward by his comment. Which is why they stayed quiet and just decided to enjoy themselves. Leviathan made them a delicious meal and they all sat at the dinning room. The table was long and solid wood. At each place stood a tall empty wine glass and there were beautifully folded napkins to match the runner. All that was missing was the food that leviathan was making. At the end of the table was where Omega was siting and Oblivion was sitting on his right side. At the other end of the table there was Carbide and on his right side there was Criterion. They still had their armor on. Though they took off their masks to be able to eat when the food was ready. Kamari broke the silence.
- So... the fish is going to make food.
Carbide quickly answered
- Leviathan could put anything on the food even a pizza and make it taste fabulous, I swear he could.
To what Omega said
- There were the days when we were kids, he pulled a plain cheese from the oven just to make us laugh, but most days it was an edible form of his crazy wonderful imagination.

Kamari looked puzzled.
- You guys are related?
- We are cousins
- What? How come you never told me me that?

She asked curiously looking straight at Carbide. Both ladies were looking at him assuming they had the same questions. He changed to his alien form letting them see the real him.
- Because, I was afraid I was going to be attack by any of you guys, I wouldn't have fit in.

Leviathan served the food. As they were eating Kamari asked for the full story. Even omega looked at the blue eyed alien. All eyes were on Carbide. So he began.
- Omega and I come planet called Hiraeth. Omega's mother is native from Fortnite, she married to an alien, Omega's father when they were teenagers. Although everyone disapprove. Not because he was an alien but because he was known to be a little violent when he was angry. My mother and Omega's father are siblings. My parents are both aliens. My dad was not native from Hiraeth, he was a shapeshifter, from the neighbor planet. Sadly I'm not able to shapeshift like could. I can only shift from human form back to my alien form which there's no much difference honestly. My cousin and I used to be very close till... that happened.
The girls looked confused. Omega took a deep breath and began talking
- Uh My family was very dysfunctional and Carbide's was perfect. Although my uncle and my father constantly left to fight because our planet was in constant war like in Fortnite. At first I though my family was perfect. Soon I realized my daddy turned out to be a monster. It was a though life for me and my brother. But, there's something that Carbide has been hating me for years for. I want to take this moment to explain, to say the truth. Carbide... I know you hate me... I know you really do... that's probably why you framed me but-
- Omega... I didn't frame you... when we first came here. The two aliens that knocked you out, they almost caught me too... but i escaped. They were shapeshifters like my father. That's why my armor was similar to theirs. When they came back to your spot you weren't there, i was afraid they would hurt you so I followed them without them knowing. You weren't there so they went to the natives and said horrible things about you... I didn't agree nor disagree because I still hated you for what you did. But I never spoke bad about you. I kept it to myself but because they hurt you, I made sure I haunted them both and personally send them to prison for eternity.
- Carbide... I have hid this from you for so long. But, remember that night your dad died...
- You mean after you murdered him!
- Look, my baby brother was sitting at the table. My father left with him alone on the table when he was barely two years old. My baby bro didn't know better... he grabbed the guns that were on the table. Thinking they were toys or something. And... accidentally shot my uncle. When I walked in all I saw was my baby brother. I thought people would hurt him so I just took the blame for it. Are you upset at him?
Carbide couldn't contain the tears as he said
- Of course I'm not upset. He was just a baby! He was innocent he didn't know better.
Carbide stood up from his seat and when to hug his baby cousin. Omega and Carbide were both a bit teary hugging each other tightly.
