In process
Raven in the Underground City was outside of house trying to relax on a hammock. The air was just a gentle breeze blowing on his face... the weather is fine, and he can hear water not far away. He knows he had duties to take care of but he just needs a moment to himself.
Raven lay back on the hammock again, feeling himself swing for a while before coming to a stop. In the distance there was people, but far away enough not to bother him. He closed his eyes and drew in a lung full of the woodland air. He let the sound of ticking of clocks fill his ears. So the day stretched out like a small eternity. Till he started to hear roars and the flapping of huge wings. Without opening his eyes he said annoyed
- Oh my! I told ninja to not bring birds in here.
When he heard them closer he finally decided to sit up angrily. When he turned around his eyes widened.
- Ah! Demon dragon, demon dragon!!!!
He screamed as he went under his hammock to hide from the hideous beasts. Carbide had the unconscious green eyed alien on his arms.
- Demon! Help us
- Oh it's just you Carbide... what is it?
- It's omega
- Follow me. But, make sure the dragons keep their distance. I don't do dragons at all
Oblivion's POV
We finally reach the door, brown and dull like all the others, but I can already see people inside. The nurse smiles kindly and opens the door wider. Doctors and nurses surrounded his hospital bed, attaching IV's, heart monitors and oxygen tanks to him. I decide to explore the room while his mom, brother, and cousin are still crowded around him. I was expecting to see an old TV set hangs from the ceiling. A window giving me a view of the world below was just beneath the screen. In the corner two chairs, frayed with wear and tear. I expected it to be a typical hospital room, sparse and functional. Instead being in this room is like walking into an expensive New York coffee shop. There are flowers, beautiful paintings, leather chairs and soft music. On the wall is a plasma screen and the bed looks so comfortable. I sat myself next to Omega's bed and stared dejectedly up at the ceiling. Seeing the room Omega is to take I immediately understand why people take flowers to hospital rooms. Despite our technological lives there is something in our natures that requires natural beauty as part of the healing process. We aren't robots, we aren't "units" to be fixed; Omega isn't here for a quick oil and filter change. In their efforts not to offend they succeed in not inspiring or lifting the spirit. I don't know how to feel, to see him hurt. I began to remember things about him as I played with his hair. I always loved the way his voice quickened when he sparkled with a new idea, or was so enjoying one of mine that he lost himself for a moment and quite forgot the mask he wore for others.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Obscure and Criterion in the corner.
- Okay if I was the last person on Fortnite, would you date me?
- Obscure, if you were the last person on the planet, I wouldn't exist.
Just then I saw Arkady getting closer to me and Omega. He sniffed my hand and rested his head on the bed. I never saw a dragon before. He's so majestic. I noticed mangled scars around his neck. I had the feeling someone was behind me. The voice said
- Would you believe me if I told you that humans are the cruelest creatures on the planet?
I turned around and saw Vittoria no longer wearing his armor but normal clothes. She had brown hair and blue eyes unlike Omega. Although I know she's a middle aged woman her ocean eyes sparkled like the twilight dark sky. I looked at her confused. She sat by my side looking at Arkady as well. Then I understood what she meant, the scars.
- There are very few people that still good. Like you... You see, there's beauty in absolutely everything just that not everyone can see it.
She said that as she gently petted Arkady.
- Those were humans?
- Yeah... I was not the only one who went to Hiraeth. They tried to take cover. They didn't care what they hurt. I'm glad my son was able to find someone like you
I looked at her in the eyes she was being sincere. I didn't imagen this is how it would be meeting my boyfriend's mom but it's definitely something.
End of Oblivion's POV
They waited a long while. Omega finally woke up and everyone was there for him. He was fine except for the fact that he had a massive headache. They talked to him for a few hours till Vittoria went to get him, the others and her something to eat. Little obscure sounded excited to be there
- So... what have you dedicated yourself to do brother?
Omega found himself wondering how was he going to explain that he has been slaughtering, torturing, and tearing apart a whole island for years.
- Uh... I have been... uh
As he found himself in a struggle he looked at Carbide for moral support. As for the blue eyed alien just shrugged in confusion.
- I have been... fighting-
- The evil guys? Those in the surface?
- No no no...those are good-
- Oh... so you are undercover!
- No, Obscure no... I
Omega was interrupted again when Oblivion brought him something as she whispered in his ear.
- My favorite
- I know.
She said as she leaned on him and the green eyed alien hugged her bringing her even closer. In between laughs they kissed. Carbide smiled and tapped Obscure's shoulder in a sign for them to leave. The young alien looked back and forward as he said
- Wh- what's going on?
- Nothing yet. Let's go kid
- Why?
- I'll tell you when you're older, kid.
Carbide laughed and walked away. Obscure followed behind him like a confused puppy.
Meanwhile the curious Vittoria found herself back in the surface wondering how her homeland looks now.
Vittoria's POV
It was strange, being here again after so long. Despite how long I'd been away, I still remembered everything about the place;
I took a deep breath nervously wondering if anyone would recognize me. I walked to the nearest city... I didn't have the armor on so everyone could see my face and they would know who I am. Although years have passed I had some hope. I'd never thought I would ever return. I spotted something walking towards me. He had a weapon on his hands and was calm and steady. He lowered in then as he looked at me.
- Vittoria?
- Hello John...
- is it really you?
I nodded and he smiled.
I return home, return to the same streets and homes, to the same people. Yet everything has moved on in my absence; perhaps it was foolish to imagine even one thing would remain the same. My friends were beyond excited to embrace me and chatter, catching up like we never missed a beat. Afterwards it was all too obvious that the gaping hole I left on departure had long since healed and scarred up. I'm no longer part of the natural flow of their lives, everyone's out of kilter and there is an awkwardness I never expected.
