Katherine's POV

Over time, Charlie made visits often to see Bella and the Elementals.  Learning more and more about her and us each day.  I could see the relief in Bella's eyes now that she can be open with her father.  No more secrets.  But, her mother must not know.  The further away she is, the more chance of protection she has.  With Mother's spell, Charlie was safe and protected from Aro's knowing.  

And speaking of which, the Volturi seemed to accept her new status.  Though they'd want proof eventually.  A few weeks after Bella's transformation, we received gifts from them.  Bella received a beautiful diamond necklace.  The stone was as big as a golf ball.  And mine was a beautiful velvet purple choker with a diamond of the same size.  

A letter was included in the package and I knew it was from Aro.  His cold smile seemed imprinted in the ink at every stroke. 

'I so look forward to meeting the new Mrs. Cullens'.  -Congratulations.'

Like I ever want to see him again, especially with us having children now.  I never wanted them near them.  

Now...we had a new enemy.  Time.  Every day that goes by, the children grow more.  Before we knew it, Renesmee was as big as a 3 year old.  Maybe 4.  It was the same for Kaden and Jaspen.  I was honestly getting worried.  I wanted forever with my children.  Mother and Father never seen anything similar, but they would never let anything happen to them.  And neither would I.

But, I have to say, Nessie looked so much like Bella.  It was amazing.  And Kaden...I can't help but laugh at how much he looked like his father.  Except for the hair.  He was an exact copy.  And Jaspen.  She carried his eyes and his strength.  God, how I love them all.

Bella's POV

Renesmee was growing too fast.  We all worried about how long we would have with her.  It just made every moment more precious.  I could see Katherine's worry for her children as well.  Her and Jasper never left their sides.  Till today.  Renesmee wanted to play outside, which caused the twins to get excited as well.  Jasper went to hunt in the woods with his family while Katherine, Jacob, and I decided to take the children out and let them play in the snow.  I couldn't help, but smile at my beautiful daughter as she plays with her cousins.  Catching the snowflakes that fell.  At the corner of my eye, I could see Angel sitting perched on a branch, hooting softly as she watches over us.  

Renesmee skips over to me, holding up a flake, smiling brightly. 

"Look, a snowflake."  She says.  

I kneel down to meet her height and smile at my child, "It's beautiful.  Why don't you go get another one?"

Renesmee giggles and runs to the twins who were catching flakes with her.  Jaspen, or Jazzmen, I like to call her, was catching flakes and spinning around, making the snow fly up and spin around her like a small dust tornado.  Kaden was taking snow from the ground and trying to make a snowman.  I straighten my pose and walk over to Jake and Kat.  

"Edward thinks that we'll find answers in Brazil. There are tribes there that might know something."  I say.

"Good idea.  I know a few Elementals in Brazil.  I could give a call to one guy.  Might help, might not, but won't hurt to try." Katherine says as she shrugs a little and sighs.  

I look over to Jake in his wolf form as he watches Renesmee, I could see the adoration in his eyes.  I still wasn't liking that he was her imprint, but...I trust Jake.  I look back at my daughter as she jumps high into the air and catches another flake, but Angel's frantic chirping and squawking startles me as several other owls and birds in the area were shrieking with fear.  

"Someone is here." Katherine says as she looks around.  

Worried for Renesmee, I turn to my daughter as she snaps her head towards across the forest to the mountains.  Far off in the distance, I could see a figure.  A blonde, familiar figure.  

As soon as Renesmee lands back on the ground, she rushes to Jake and wraps her arms around his leg.  Kaden and Jazzmen rush to Katherine, she pushes them behind her, using herself as a shield.  

"Who was that?" Renesmee asks in a soft voice.  

"I think that's our cousin from Denali." I say as I move closer to see it was Irina.  Tayna and Kate's sister.  

Irina just stood there, staring at us.  Then, suddenly, her face scrunches in horror and disgust as she looks towards Jake, who growls at her lowly with caution. 

"Irina!"  I call out to her, but she turns and rushes away.  

I take off in vampire speed, but by the time I get there, she was gone...into the ocean.  Why did she run?  Was it because of Jake?  I remember how she acted when she saw Seth at the wedding.  If only she would give me time to talk to her.

Dax's POV

As soon as Bella and Kat came back from spending time with the kids, Katherine immediately tells us about Irina's surprised visit.  Carlisle calls the Denali coven to ask why would their sister take off without talking to them.  

"Tanya convinced Irina to come reconcile with us." Carlisle says after he hangs up the conversation he has with Kate and Tanya.  

"It looks like she changed her mind." Kat mutters as she holds on to Kaden in her lap.  

"Seeing Jacob must have been too much for her." Esme suggests gently. 

"Wish I could have just spoken to her." Bella says, looking down with a little guilt. 

"She's family. She'll come around." Carlisle smiles, reassuring her.  

Cin bumps his shoulder with Bella, "Don't be gloomy.  Not the end of the world." He scoffs and waves it all off.  

Bella sighs and gives him a small smile. 

Soon, Edward begins playing on the piano and Renesmee joins him.  Watching him play.  Kaden whines on Kat's lap and squirms out of her grip. 

"I wanna play." He whines as he gets away from her and runs towards Nessie to sit next to Edward.  

Edward laughs and smiles at him as he continues to play a gentle lullaby.  Soon, Jazzy joins and walks up to Nessie and sits next to her.

We all just watched the four of them play on the piano.  Edward stops playing and lifts his daughter up to let her sit on his lap.  

"You try." He says softly.

Renesmee begins to play the same tune that Edward was playing perfectly.  She was such a fast learner.  Jazzy joins in to catch the notes Nessie misses.  Since her arms were short.  Even Kaden was helping as well.  I looked over and see Jasper and Kat hold each other as they watched their children play a beautiful song with Nessie.  In fact, everyone was in awe with them.  

I could hear the clicking of Alice's shoes heading our way, but I snap my eyes up to hers when I hear her gasp in horror and hearing the crash of glass hitting the floor.  I look down and see a broken vase at her feet.  Water and mud mixing together with the ceramic chips.  Everyone snaps their eyes to her and I get up and rush to her.  

"What is it, Alice?  What did you see?" I ask as I hold her close to me.

Her whole body shakes with terror as she looks up at me with wide eyes, "The Volturi."  She turns to everyone.  "They're coming for us.  Aro, Caius, Marcus, the Guard.  And Irina." She says. 

Bella gasps softly and gestures Renesmee to her, "Honey, come here."  Nessie rushes to her mother and Bella holds on to her as Nessie wraps her arms around her mother's waist.  

"Why?" Oriel asks.  "Why are they coming here?"

"What did lrina see in the woods?" Edward asks Bella, Kat, and Jake.  

"We were just walking." Bella stutters. 

"Ness was catching snowflakes." Jake says. 

"So were Jaspen and Kaden." Kat adds. 

Edward, suddenly, had a look of realization, "Of course.  Irina thinks Kaden, Jaspen and Renesmee are immortal children. "

Everyone frowns at this, even me.  Immortal children?  

Soon, we were all in the study and Bella was going through a book Carlisle took out.  I looked over her shoulder as she flips through it and listen to Carlisle's words. 

"The lmmortal Children were very beautiful.  So enchanting.  To be near them was to love them.  But their development was frozen at the age they were turned.  They couldn't be taught or restrained.  A single tantrumcould destroy an entire village.  Humans heard about the devastation.  Stories spread.  The Volturi were forced to intervene.  Since the Children couldn't protect our secret, they had to be destroyed."  He stops to sigh as he thinks about the past.  "Their creators grew very attached and fought to protect them.  Long-established covens were torn apart.  Countless humans slaughtered.  Traditions, friends, even families. Lost."  He looks at his family, then back to us.  "Tanya, Kate, and Irina had a mother.  A mother who desperately wanted a child.  And she did everything to have a child.  No matter what the cost." 

"So the Denalis' mother made an lmmortal Child?" Bella asks. 

Carlisle nods, his eyes filled with sadness, "Yes.  And she paid the price." 

"So that's why Irina was looking at us with disgust.  I thought it was because of Jake, but Renesmee was with Jake.  She was disgusted with Nessie." Kat says.  

Bella glares, "Well, Renesmee's nothing like those children.  She was born, not bitten.  She grows every single day."

"Same with Kaden and Jaspen." Jasper says.

"So can't you just explain that to the Volturi?" Jake suggests. 

"Yeah, with the proof we carry in our memories would be enough." Cin says.  

Carlisle shakes his head, "Aro has enough proof in lrina's thoughts."

"So we fight." Jake states. 

Carlisle protests, "Their offensive weapons are too powerful."

"No one can stand against Jane."  Jasper says. 

"Alec's even worse." Alice says. 

I scoff loudly, "Well, then we convince them."

"They're coming to kill us, not to talk."

Before I could correct myself, Edward speaks up as an idea pops inside his head, "No, you're right.  They won't listen to us.  But maybe others can convince them.  Carlisle, you have friends all around the world."

"I won't ask them to fight."

"Not fight.  Witness.  If enough people knew the truth, maybe we could convince the Volturi to listen."

"We can ask this of our friends."

"And you know the Elementals will help." Kat speaks up.  "Jasper, you told me the Volturi is one of the largest covens.  If they won't listen, it's better to have insurance.  We know plenty of Elementals who will be willing to help."

"I can head to Seattle and talk to Sean and Dorian.  We can call Sky and Alyssa." Cin speaks up.  

"I got the others in the South.  And a few are living in California.  I'll make some calls now." Oriel says as she grabs her phone and heads off. 

"Katherine..." Carlisle speaks up, but she holds a hand up to stop him. 

"Carlisle, let us do this.  You're my family now.  Family is forever." She smiles.  

Carlisle couldn't help but smile, "And forever we protect." He sigh deeply and nods, "Ok.  But, remind them all that this isn't a fight." 

"Ok, but I know they will prepare if it will turn into one." She says and takes her phone, pressing speed dial. "Tobias, we need your help."  Katherine begins taking to Tobias in the dead language, explaining the situation. 

Everyone takes off to make calls and all, but Alice walks towards me with worried eyes.

"Daxy, we need to talk."

Kat's POV

The next morning, everyone was packing up and getting ready for their separate trips to alert the vampires and Elementals about the situation.  When I was walking down to the living room, placing my bags next to Jasper's, I noticed that Dax was missing...and so was Alice.  I walked to the other room, hearing everyone talking and packing. 

"At least we get to go to London again." Esme teases her mate.

"We haven't been there in a long time." Carlisle smiles as he holds her close. 

"All right. Let's get this show on the road." Jake's voice trails off as he sees a familiar face walking towards the house.  Everyone looks and sees Sam with a serious look on his face.  

"Guys, where's Dax and Alice?"  I speak up.  

Everyone frowns and looks around as Sam walks up the steps of the porch.  He sighs and hands Carlisle's a letter. 

"Alice asked me to give you that.  She and Dax crossed our lands to the ocean last night." 

I looked at him in shock.

"Carlisle?" Rose speaks up, wanting to know if it was true. 

Carlisle reads the letter and sighs, "They've left us."

"Why?" Cin asks. 

"She didn't say."

Bella walks up to him and holds a hand out to take the letter, "Can I see that?"

I look over her shoulder and read out the letter, "'Gather as many witnesses as you can before the snow sticks to the ground.  That's when they'll come'." I look up at everyone and swallowed a hard lump.  

"We better go...now." Oriel states.

"Thank you, Sam." Carlisle says and holds a hand out.  Sam nods and shakes his hand before taking off back to the Rez.

"Cin, head to Seattle and pick up Dorian and Sean.  Then, contact the others.  Get as many as you can to come to Forks." I demanded and turn to my sister.  "Oriel, you head to California and New Mexico.  Gather the Desert Wolves and see if they want to join." 

Cin and Oriel both nod and take off.  

"Let's ride." Cin smirks and takes off into the air as Oriel takes off on all fours as they transform into their dire sides.
