Jasper's POV

(Kat's Outfit)

Every since that day when Katherine went to Seattle with Bella, she grew quiet and distant for a little while.  She spent more time with the children and I.  I wanted to know what she and Bella found in Seattle, even though I knew it was bad news...I still deserved to know.  Christmas was arriving soon, and we needed to get gifts for the twins and the family.  Bella, Edward, and Renesmee were going to celebrate with Charlie and Sue.  Jacob, Seth, and Leah were going to join.  

A week before Christmas, Katherine and I went to town to find last minute gifts.  We walked hand in hand in the mall, walking past several stores.  Katherine was too quiet.  I was honestly worried about her.  

"Darlin', are you ok?  You seem as if you're thousands of miles away from me." 

Katherine snaps out of her thoughts and looks over to me to give me a small smile, "Yeah, I'm...I'm fine.  I'm just...thinking."  She tries to wave it off. 

I slowly stop my steps, still holding on to her hand, till she stops as well.

"Katherine, ever since Seattle, you've been...so distraught and you're spending so much time with our kids as if it'll be the last time you'll see them.  And don't think I haven't noticed that Bella was the same with Edward and Nessie.  Please, tell me what's going on." I practically begged my love to open up to me. 

Katherine lets out a shuddering sigh and walks towards a private table in the food court, away from humans that littered the mall.  

"Bella made me promise not to tell you, only because of Edward." She says.  

I nod in understanding, Edward's power.  

"I can block it from him, if that worries you.  After years of being around him, I mastered it." I smirk a little, just to get a laugh, and she does.  But, a tiny one.  

She takes me hand in hers, squeezing it gently.  I could feel hers tremble in mine.  

"Jasper, do you know the name J. Jenks?"

Her question startles me, "Where did you hear that name?" 

"Alice." 

Of course, I knew J. Jenks.  He helped me with new identities, for my family and myself.  So, we could start over as time goes by before people could become suspicious.  

"Bella called him after Alice left another note that one Bella could find.  All it said was J. Jenks - Seattle.  We met him after we dropped the kids off at Charlies.  Alice made an order." Her lips begin to tremble.  

"What kind of order?" I ask, carefully. 

She was hesitant, at first, but as a sigh escapes her lips, "Birth certificates and passport IDs.  For just Jake and the kids." She licks her lips and, I could see a emotional battle in her eyes, "I think Alice saw a possible future without anyone in it, except for them.  She prepared for that future for us.  But, what happens to you?  What happens to me?  Are we going lose each other?  Is everyone just going to die?" Her voice cracks.  She covers her mouth to stifle a cry and her eyes begin to water with blood.  

I move to sit closer to her, to hide her tears from the humans.  I grab a napkin from the holder that was in the middle of the table to catch any fallen blood tears.  My own heart was cracking as I held my love.  So, this is why Alice left.  To not only protect us, to prepare.  But, I know Alice.  

"My Darlin', Alice would never let this future happen.  You know that.  And I know that Mother of All and Father of All wouldn't either.  Nothing is going to happen to either of us.  No one is going to die.  I promise." I swear my immortal life on that. 

"How can you promise that?" She sniffles. 

"Cause I know Alice.  She'll stop at nothing from saving everyone she loves.  And I know Dax will, too."  I cup her face in my hands and pull her closer and gently kiss her soft, wet lips.   

She sighs softly as we pull away, giving me a soft smile.  I knew I made her feel better, but I could see still see and feel the fear she carried.  Alice, Dax, wherever you both are, please...please, find the answer we need to save our family.

Katherine's POV

Before we knew it, it was Christmas and it was a very white one, too.  Snow fell gently from the gloomy sky as we gathered at Charlie and Sue's house.  The tree was trimmed and the smell of gingerbread and turkey filled the air mixed with the scent of pine.  The kids giggled as they peeked around the tree.  Wondering what was in the presents, but I already knew Kaiden and Jaspen could see what they were.  

Jasper was smiling big as he picks up Kaiden in his arms, twirling him around.  Kaiden's laughter filled the house, drowning out the chattering of voices.  

"My turn! My turn!" Jaspen jumps up and down in excitement, waiting impatiently for her father to play with her as well.  

I chuckled as I watch Jasper pick the twins up in both arms and spin around with them giggling and shrieking.

But, when I looked over to Bella and Edward as they stood by the window, watching the snow.  A feeling of dread filled my core when I realized why she was reeking with terror.  

"The snow is sticking."

"Hey, we still have today."  Edward tries to reassure her, but how can anyone stay calm when we were just hours away from our death sentence.

Bella looks over to Charlie and Sue, watching them smile and kiss, "I'm so glad Charlie found somebodyto take care of him." She says sadly, knowing that this could be the last time she sees him.

"Bella, no one's giving up here."

I walk over to them and place a hand on their shoulders, "He's right, Bells.  We're gonna show the Volturi and prove our innocence." 

Bella sighs softly, "And if we don't?" 

I scoff, "I think Mother may say something different if he tries anything." I smirk and catch her small smile, but still, she feared tomorrow.  

Charlie walks into the room, rubbing his hands in excitement, "All right! Present time! Let's go!"

I give Bella's shoulder a gentle squeeze and move to walk into the living room to meet with Jasper and the children.  I snuggled into Jasper's arms and watch our kids tear through the presents.  

Oriel and Cin were with their mates, giving them gifts and kissing them under the mistletoe.  Cin holds a mistletoe over him and Leah.  Leah scoffs, but laughs when Cin points at his cheek.  She rolls her eyes and leans in to kiss his cheek, but Cin turns quickly and kisses her lips.  So far I know, this wasn't their first kiss.  Leah's pulls away in shock and smacks his chest.   Cin winches, but laughs.  

Seth and Oriel snuggled on the couch together, eating food till Charlie scorns them. 

"Seth, Oriel, stop eating.  Jake, you start. Get it going.  Before the twins open all the presents for us." Charlie teases at the twins.  

Bella moves to stand next to Edward as he sits in a chair close to her.  Jasper and I were near the fire, watching everyone.  

"What did you get me?"

"I'm not giving you anything."

"Hey!  No, come on,what did you get me?"

It was fun watching them, it was almost as if life was normal again.  No worries about life or death.  I didn't want this to end. 

"Well, Dad, we didn't have time to wrap yours, but here it is.  It's a 5-day fishing trip to Fraser River.  It's for you and Sue."  Bella says as she hands Charlie an envelop with tickets and a pamphlet.  

"You leave tomorrow." Edward says as he smiles crookedly.

Charlie looked really surprised as he sits in his chair, looking at the tickets in his hands, "Wow, that's really nice. Thank you."  He frowns as he thinks about it, "Tomorrow? I can't leave tomorrow." He protests, but Sue cuts him off as she walks into the room. 

"I made arrangements for you at work." She says as she gives him a sly smile.

Charlie laughs softly and squints at her in teasing anger, "Sneaky.  And extravagant."

"And non-refundable, I'm afraid." Edward smirks. 

Charlie looks at Bella and Edward closely, "You two trying to get rid of me?"  I watched Bella and Edward stiffen in worry.  I held my breath and wait for them to say something, but we all blew out a breath of relief with Charlie smiles, "Because it's working!  Fraser River.  That means we'll be chasing Cutthroat." He chuckles as Sue walks over to sit on his lap, while handing him a beer. 

"We might even hook a Rainbow or some Bulls." Sue adds and smiles.  

It never ceded to amaze Charlie how much Sue knew about wildlife and hunting and fishing.  She was the perfect woman for him. 

"Woman knows her trout." 

Bella walks over to kneel next to Renesmee as she opens a gift that Jake gave her.  

"Hey, beautiful. Let me see."  Nessie unwraps a beautiful handmade bracelet.  Jake has such a skill for making jewelry.  I bet he'll be making lots of them for her till the end of time.  "Jacob make this for you?  Wanna put it on?"  Bella says and clips on the bracelet around Nessie's wrist. 

"It's so pretty."  Nessie says as she smiles and admire the bracelet. 

Bella smiles at her, as if she was trying to memorize every inch of Nessie.  Remembering her smile.  Her eyes.  I knew she worried about losing her one day.  

"It is really pretty."

Bella looks over her shoulder and smiles at Edward.  I reach under the tree and hand Jasper his present.  He gives me mine.  Before Christmas, I went through his old stuff.  It's hard to shop for him sometimes, so I decided to do something that hasn't been done.  I found his badges that he earned when he was in the Confederate Army and sent them to be polished.   When he opened that velvet box, I knew he loved it.  I could see the surprise in his eyes and the love and admiration practically radiated off of his body.  

Jasper gave me a beautiful tree of life necklace with all of our birthstones.  His, mine, Jasper and Kaiden's.  I loved it so much, I never want to take it off.  After Jasper clips it around my neck, I turn around and kiss him softly, holding on to him as I let him feel all my love for him.  For our children.  I just hope and pray all will go well tomorrow.   Tonight, we prepare. 

(Hey!  I'm so sorry for the long wait.  Been so incredibly busy and had a lot of family emergencies.  I'm dying to finish this book, because I'm planning to write a new book.  Recently, I signed up for Netflix and been binging on movies and shows all month.  Including Hemlock Grove *Purrrrrr*  Bill Skarsgård.  Oh my!  I decided to write a story based on Hemlock Grove.  But first, I will finish Dusk.  As for my other books, like Rise of Seth McCall, I have serious writer's block with that book.  I really need help with it.  Any suggestions will help me.  Please feel free to send me messages about ideas.  Lots of love!)
