17 ~ Family
My beautiful glittering wings slowed down as Elliot and I reached a big three story house. In the garden sat three people. A lady with a short blonde bod cut and an expensive looking suit jacket and skirt... Aunt Annabella. A man with dirty blonde hair wearing a expensive dinner suit... Uncle Stuart. The third person I had to study carefully. Light grey hair fell around her face with short curls. Her floral dress was flowing around her, making her look larger than usual. She turned around and saw us, she raised her hand to give us a wave. "Hi Granny" Elliot yelled. Grandma Harriet. My draw dropped. Dad said that Granny and Grandpa died in a car crash. Maybe it wasn't granny Harriet, maybe its uncle Stuart's mum.
The arch way into the garden was like a waterfall. Flying through it I felt my wings shrinking back and my jeans forming instead of the skirt. I stepped out into the garden. I was a human again. The only trace of magic was around the bottom of my bell bottom jeans was a pattern of butterflies. Grabbing my hand Elliot led me over to the others. The lady that couldn't be my granny looked at me with soft blue eyes. "Why hello sweetie, I'm Harriet Brookshire" she said. It was my granny. But she didn't recognize me. I suppose last time she saw me I had a short hair cut and fringe. "Granny, dont you remember me?" I asked softly. Beside her Aunt Annabella let out a little shriek. "ROSE" she squealed. I whipped my head around to face her. I slowly nodded. "Its not safe here" I heard uncle Stuart whisper. I lunged forward to give Aunt Annabella a hug. As we embraced I heard Elliot trying to muffle a fit of giggles. I looked up and gave him my best death stare. He stopped immediately. That puzzled me, my death stares aren't that amazing. I cant even make Fanny look away and she is the most giggly person in the whole wide world {literally}. After breaking free of Aunties grasp I turned to face him. He didnt move. I tapped him on the shoulder, again he didn't move. "umm Elliot?" I said cautiously. "Rose, you froze him" uncle Stuart said from behind me. "B....b....b...but how?" I stuttered in confusion. "Sweetie" began Granny "if a fairy looks someone in the eyes and their face into a scowl then that person will freeze until the same fairy looks at them and smiles." I turned around quickly to face Elliot, and did a huge smile. "You ninconpoop" I heard him say as I turned to face my granny. "You need to teach me about all the powers and then help me get home" I said. Granny nodded but I heard Elliot whisper to auntie Annabella "should we tell her the history between the Brookshires and the Blackers?"
